Centennial Lakes Park is a great place to go ice skating in the cities. It is a lake nestled between the buildings away from the noise of the city. You can bring your own skates or they have rentals. The pavilion has a fire place and is friendly and warm. It is peaceful and well maintained. What a great secret place to skate!

Amazed at how many people were ice skating on the very long man made lake that runs in between many office buildings. It was a little bumpy, but then it is outside and free if you bring your own skates. Otherwise it is a very reasonable $6 rental. Luckily no dogs or alcoholic beverages. Lots of families out enjoying a winter day. Check their websited for hours and if someone in your family doesn't want to be outside they can shop at the outdoor mall to the west of the park. Lots of covered parking on ground level. The hot chocolate was only $2 and many other food items for less than $3, so can be a thrifty event even in Edina.

What a wonderful ice skating experience. A few friends and I went to check this out one night and couldn't have been happier. Christmas lights and snow surrounded the lake, turning it into a winter wonderland type scene that looked like it came straight from a classic painting. With so much skating area, we never felt crowded or limited by others skating around us. I will go back again and again!

Very well maintained walking paths, even in winter weather. A pleasant place to walk with holiday lights and music (speakers all along the walkway). The ice has frozen smooth (Dec.2014) so grab your skates or rent a pair($6) right there! You can also rent kick-sleds ($7 per hour). Warm your toes by the fire outside or visit the warming house, which is open until 9:30 PM.Summer has many other options to entertain and keep you active; paddle-boat rental, mini-golf, farmer's market, outdoor movies, and the walk-way.

Centennial Lakes Park is an hidden gem in the city of Edina. I have been working out of the Centennial Lakes office park that surrounds the south lake of the Centennial Lakes Park for the past two weeks and the walking path is a pure joy!

This is a lovely, peaceful place for people of all ages. There is a very nice paved walkway (more than 1.5 miles) around a large lake. It’s a perfect quiet place for walkers or runners. The walkway is dotted with benches and swings for resting and taking in the view of the lake, birds, trees, or paddleboats – which are available for rent.

Loops and is about 2.5 miles round trip from the Westin Edina - can pretty much go right out the back of the hotel and take a nice run around the park! I love staying there for that reason alone.

Great relaxing atmosphere, perfect for walking or working. Well maintained and landscaped. The pond creates a relaxing place to find a bench and enjoy the day.

This is a lovely place to walk and sit near the man-made canal where you can rent paddleboats, watch people racing their remote control boats, play mini-golf or lawn bowling. On Thursdays in summer there is a farmers market in the afternoon. In the winter months, when the waterway is frozen, you can ice skate; skate rental is available.

Beautiful Park. Very safe. A hidden gem. If you like to walk along the water enjoying the different landscape this is the place for you. Plenty of benches and swings to sit in. This park is great for couples, families, or going solo.

Centennial Lakes is super affordable, year 'round fun for all ages. It's a man made lake in the middle of a circle of office buildings and condos in the Minneapolis suburb, Edina. I haven't seen many places like it. Summer! The lake goes to about 20 feet deep and is stocked with fish every summer. The boat house sells bait (corn for 50 cents, no worms!) and will rent you a fishing pole for no charge. You can also rent a glittery paddle boat for $8 per 30 minutes. The helpful staff of fresh faced Edina teens will fit you with a life jacket and help the little ones and grandma on and off the boat. Kids 3 and up will love the paddle boats.Next there is the putting green. It's along the lake, $9 gets you 18 holes, a putter and bright ball.Be ready for your kids to "accidentally" hit the ball into the water at least five times. :-) It's not mini golf, but a real putting green and a great way to get the whole family a taste of golf. As if that's not enough the boat house will also rent equipment for croquet that groups can play next to the putting green.Winter! In the winter this is great, free place to skate outside. The club house rents skates and offers snacks for low prices too. All year! The club house is available to rent for parties and weddings. It's picturesque and unique, guests love it.

Centennial lakes is the best an urban setting has to offer. With a beautiful lake, gardens, and walking paths, it never disappoints on a summer afternoon. If you are in the area and want to enjoy the weather, take a walk around the lake, play mini-golf, or rent a paddle boat. Even in the winter they offer beautiful ice-skating on the frozen lake. They keep it very well plowed and maintained, with a large warming house, skate rentals, and even hot chocolate. The outside is decorated with lights at night and the benches are available all around the lake to relax on if you need a break. Also, being walking distance away from shopping, and dining, you can make a whole day out of it. Any time of year this attraction is a great time.

This is a full year location to visit, during the summer, spring and fall there is: mini golf (on real grass greens), small paddle boat rentals, famers market and sometime small boat events (sailing) and every so often music events.During the winter is when this location really shines, think of Holland and skating on beautiful back drops and you will start to understand the draw of this location. Parking can sometimes be a little bit of a challenge, but it is a great location to visit on any given day.

We love going to the farmers market at Centennial Lakes on Thursdays. The food is fresh and the farmers are friendly! The kids love to fish or watch other kids fish. There are ducks and herons also.

We took the 30 minute paddle boat tour of the lake for $8. Fun to get out on the water and see the whole park. Nice place for a stroll, sit in a swinging chair, play mini golf or watch an outdoor movie. Since it backs up to a strip mall, you can go there for lunch and then walk it off at the park. I recommend going to Whole Foods for their food bar which is a good value. Will be back again.
