We park in the equestrian lot at the Manassa battlefield, and we ride our horses to the winery. The owner has been kind enough to put up a hitching post, how great?! Hoping maybe for some shade and water for the horses this year :) The winery has great wine, food, and entertainment. Always a good time, we just love it.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon with a group of friends to do a wine tasting for my birthday. There are 10 tastings and we paid $12 or $15 dollars for it and you get to keep the souvenir glass. The place was packed and we had to wait about 20-25 minutes before we could do the tasting but it was well worth it. They had a special deal that you could get 2 bottles of wine for $32 (peach and raspberry). I recommend the peach wine as it it was one of my favorites. They have comfy couches inside you can sit on and some areas around the bar with seating. Outside they have a very ample area for sitting with tables and a backside. There was a musician playing acoustic guitar which added to the relaxing ambient. It was very relaxing and we had a lot of fun. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. I plan to return in the summer when it gets warmer out.

I had the pleasure of interning for the Marketing and Events department at The Winery at Bull Run during the Summer of 2014 under Eddie Fam, the Marketing and Events Director. He was an amazing supervisor and my experience was one that I will never forget. I learned so much from Eddie and my other supervisors and mentors, but I also made so many new friends and connections as well. TWABR is such a beautiful place with a kind and caring staff, and I'm so glad I got to be a part of the family during my time there. From the comfortable and cozy atmosphere, to the delicious quality wines, TWABR does its very best to provide a unique and satisfying experience to everyone that walks through its doors. I highly recommend this winery to anyone that wants to relax and enjoy wine with good company, but also to use as an amazing venue for an event (especially weddings!). TWABR goes above and beyond to please its customers and it would be in your best interest to visit and see for yourself! I love TWABR!

If you live in the DC area or are visiting from out of town, this is a great winery to check out! I recently visited Bull Run with my fiance. It's located near the battlefields and has a TON of history. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the history and winery itself. They have a variety of award winning wines and a huge property to explore while you are there. It's a great escape from the hustle and bustle of DC. We liked the location so much we decided to plan our wedding at Bull Run this summer. We sat down with their marketing director, Eddie, who was awesome at answering all our questions. He spent a lot of time going over the many different options the winery offers for private events. The majority of our friends/family are coming from out of town for the event, so we were glad to hear that they have a variety of partnerships with hotels and caterers. The nice thing about Bull Run is that it offers different sized spaces (depending on your party size) that can be used for the event. We are having a small wedding and the venue allows us to have the intimate feel we were looking for. We know its going to be a memorable day and a place we will continue to visit even after the big day!

This winery has award winning wines, fantastic vistas and a fun place to sit back and relax before a warm fire in the fireplace during fall and winter or on the covered patio in spring and summer and sip fantastic wines. Be sure and taste their Forte ( a port style wine). Live music on the weekends, twinkling lights and helpful and smiling employees add to the pleasure. It is one of our favorite places and visit often; our last visit on the Friday after Thanksgiving with our daughter, husband and great friends. All want to go back.

My fiancé and I booked TWABR for our 2015 wedding. Eddie Fam (marketing and event director) has by far been the most helpful and accommodating person we have dealt with throughout our tedious venue search. We have been to dozens upon dozens of venues (hotels, farms, wineries, botanical gardens, you name it) and since we are hosting a very small and intimate wedding, most people have simply not given us the time of day, or not taken us seriously. They throw pamphlets at us and send us on our way, not taking the time to discuss options or details because lets face it, they aren't going to make as much money on a 20 person event. From the first wine tasting I attended to feel the place out, I experienced friendly and knowledgeable staff who were more than willing to talk with me, even on a busy weekend afternoon. Eddie made us feel like our small wedding was just as important as a 200 person event. I am so excited we have finally found our venue and the team at Bull Run is amazing. I can't wait to plan out the details with their marketing & events manager Natasha. Eddie (and everyone else I have communicated with there) has always responded to my e-mails the same day, and has been great at fitting in appointments with us that work with our busy schedules. We even met the GM George this morning and he was so friendly and accommodating. I felt like even he genuinely cared about us and our wedding. I am more than confident that our special day is in great hands! I have been in touch with some of their preferred vendors throughout this process and so far have been very happy with their speedy response times and the genuine care they display about our budget and our choices. TWABR has everything we have been looking for - a beautiful location for an outdoor ceremony (the ruins), and a rustic, charming space for a cocktail hour (east lawn) and dinner reception (Barrel Room). We got a chance to see the Barrel Room all dressed up last weekend at a mock cocktail hour and it was phenomenal. I would highly recommend TWABR for any special event!!

This is like doing a wine tasting in your dentist's office. Too clinical, too pricey, horrible atmosphere, and rude staff. Too many other decent wineries around.

I went to the winery today and the assistant manager Christina A. took excellent care of us. It was easy to see that she loves working at the winery and she gave us the VIP treatment. We will definitely be back again and hope that Christina will be working. Thanks again for the stellar service Christina!

I used to enjoy going to The Winery, but as time goes by, it is the following: the staff is not friendly or helpful, to have a glass of wine, a baguette, some cheese, and some salami, will set you back about $54, they are very focused on selling wine, not so much focused on customer service. I have now been to four scheduled events where the attractions, bands, whatever was scheduled was either two to three hours late or just didn't show up. The last time I was there I asked about an upcoming attraction, which was still listed on their website, and was told it was cancelled. I said are you going to remove it from your website, I was told we'll get around to that. The worst thing about it is in a smart marketing strategy they held a yelp contest and the person who wrote the best review won tickets to upcoming events. I was one of those people, and the events have been cancelled twice, and not yet resheduled. A big disappointment. The wines are very highly priced ($34 a bottle?) and they are not all that great.

This is the first time of MANY wineries, that I liked every wine they have. Not sure what others are tasting because all the wines were great! Yes, the tasting is expensive and so is the wine. In the future, I will skip the tasting and just pick one to enjoy since I know I like them all. LOVED the fact that they have a seperate area for the kids, not sure why people bring children to a winery? It was chilly the day we were there, and we tried huddling by the heater outside but it was hard to feel the heat from where you were sitting because the heater is so tall. Loved the jazz band. We will definitely return but in the summer when it's warm. Only negative is they do not allow you to eat your picnic food inside, only purchased food can be eaten inside. The outside area is nice but nicer when it's warm.

First winery we've visited where they had people flagging you into a parking spot. And while they have a large outdoor area dogs are not permitted. So we surveyed the situation, checked Trip Advisor to see what previous visitors thought of the wine quality and decided the tasting would not be worth the hassle of the crowd and leaving our dog in the car. So we left. Will not return even if we don't have our dog with us.

Very busy winery on a beautiful fall afternoon. Gorgeous setting located right next to battlefield. Offered 2 separate picnic areas for adults with kids and without kids. Tasting was $12 but included glass (no option for cheaper fee no glass). Wine was at best mediocre and the lady giving the tasting was slightly abrasive. Nice place to go hang out but not if you are looking for high quality wine. Also, all bottles to purchase are $30 and over.

Very nice grounds, and the tasting room is super. The wine was pretty good, and the young lady who helped us was friendly and pretty knowledgeable. They have a few things you can order to eat, and lots of space to enjoy a glass or bottle after your tasting.

This was the last stop on a mini winery tour and there happened to be a wedding in progress. The grounds are interesting with some building remnants and a battlefield next door. The tasting room is large and built for what I imagine the weekend crowds to be. Tastings were a bit more than I expected at $12 a piece but I enjoyed the tour of the palate. It's close to DC and the Airport, if you need a stop after you land, this may be a good one. They look the part, It's like walking into Target versus Walmart... everything is a little nicer, so you are OK spending a little more.

What a pleasant October afternoon! Sun and a chilly glass of Delaney at $9. A nice breeze and brilliant afternoon sunlight. Beats working!
