scenery was fabulous, gardens were quite nice but it was expensive to get into the castle and it was a very modern and boring castle, not what I was expecting.

Beautiful gardens with very interesting history. A very pleasant 4km walk to the castle, but equally pleasing to find that we could take the shuttle back when the rain started pouring down! The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we had another appointment and so were unable to do the tour but will be back soon as we were most intrigued.

Glenveagh is a magical place. as I live quite near, I will drive up to the park quite regularly. There are beautiful walks, the scenery is breathtaking and a lovely place to go to escape from the world. The grounds and gardens are amazing. My kids love to explore the grounds

I was in Glenveagh multiple times, it really is a nice place to go to and relax as the gardens, the lake and castle add to a beautiful scenery. Definitely worth talking a long walk, especially But I do have to say that tour inside the castle is very overpriced and in all honestly there is nothing there woth seeing so I wouldn't waste money on it, as most of the original furniture, paitnings and decors are sold and replaced by replicas or newer/ more modern one's. Also the wallpaper is way too modern and does not go with the exterior and original interior of the castle.

Bought bus tickets up to the house. As we visited in February the house was closed. We walked around the outside of the house and took some nice pictures. Walked through the gardens and not much in bloom would probably be nice in summer. The midges saw a few then turned around and were surrounded hundreds and this was only FEBRUARY if going later in the year would suggest insect repellent. Downside of the bus is there is no way to call to say you are ready to go back down to the tourist office ourselves and four other families waited about 40 minutes.

However you reach glenveagh you will have travelled through some very rugged landscape,so when you get here you will realize you have reached the gold at the end of the rainbow, definitely the jewel in the Donegal crown, tranquil ,serene, mesmerising, haunting.walk it cycle it ,paint it,or just love it,but do not forget the midge spray,a visit to Donegal is incomplete until you've been to glenveagh.

Glenveagh Castle is one of the jewels in the must see attractions crown. Tucked away in Donegal, Glenveagh Castle is worth the trip from wherever. Unfortunately, it is often overlooked because it is so far away from the sights of the rest of the Republic. The grounds are meticulously kept and the views are gorgeous. It is great place to hike or explore.

There is no better way to spend a summers afternoon - the walks are amazing. The fresh air is second to none. All the staff are lovely & extremely helpful and its lovely to stop-off for some tea after all the walking.

We went to Glenveagh Castle on Valentine's Day on a whim and were really glad we did.Set in beautiful natural surroundings, the guided tour is well worth the €5 charge and gives you an informed insight into the history and tales of the castle. Our tour guide (Mary) was well-informed, convivial and made the tour all the more enjoyable with her obvious interest in the castle's history. After the tour, it was fun to spend some time around the castle grounds, taking some pictures of its beautiful environs, before popping into the castle's tea shop for a refreshing cuppa and a quick snack.Highly recommended if you happen to find yourself in that part of the country.Including the shuttle bus (which runs from the visitor centre every 15 mins), the guided tour and bus trip will cost €16 per couple and it's worth every cent!

Visited in winter, but the gardens and walk up were stunning. Unfortunately the castle itself was closed for the day but enjoyed the walks around the garden.
