A wonderful mountain to climb in beautiful Donegal. We have only ever climbed it in summer time but were very fortunate to get a lovely sunny day in February with snow at the top. Boggy at the start of the walk but once you get past this you're onto the mountain and Wow it is worth it when you see that breathtaking view at the summit.

A wonderful mountain in a wonderful County. Donegal is beautiful county with beautiful people, warm and friendly. Mount errigal is a majestic mountain on the north west coast and she is a joy to see.

I climbed this mountain for my 60th with 15 of my friends. It was absolutely stunning and the views on the way - awesome. Not for the faint hearted but I would highly recommend it. I had a guide with us and this would be an absolute necessity if you were not used to climbing this mountain. They knew the path to take etc. An experience never to be forgotten.

Anyone will know climbing a mountain doesn't necessarily require a backpack with weeks of equipment and rations. But one thing you do need is common sense. This trek offered stunning views of the park and was a good challenge to a couple of novices. You don't need anything but a pair of good socks and another for when you come back down. **note** very boggy start and finish. My car is destroyed.

Burgers and steaks were good apart from the side orders. Onion ring were good. Drinks were fairly priced so no complainta but they did charge for ice if you wanted to take it to your room

bit of a sludgy trek up from the car park. There's actually another trail you can start from further up the road on the letterkenny side of the car park (near a bend in the road). Some of the locals actually climb it from the other side of the mountain, which doesn't have a clear trail, and is a bit steeper. Whichever way you go up, you'll love it on top on a clear day.

This is the tallest mountain in Donegal and should be approached with caution. If climbing in the summer take lots of insect repellent as the dreaded midges like to attack unwary tourists. The weather in Ireland is likely to change within a few hours and so wear the right gear as it is very cold on the top of the mountain. Staring off is quite mucky as the ground is boggy and while recent efforts to change the route worked for a while the huge numbers that climb the mountain cause more problems. It is a very popular climb and can be attempted by the most basic amateur and apart from sensible clothing no other equipment is needed. Half way up the going gets "shaley" and then as you rise to the top the paths tend to get very narrow and have very steep falls either side. Not for the faint hearted the last bit but worth the effort. From the summit you have almost 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains glens and the sea. You can also see most of the islands off the Donegal Coast from up there.

This is a challenging hike with shale on one side of the mountain. Great views and you can drive most of it, so if yer feeling lazy you can still experience it

Have climbed Errigal many times and it is always worth it for the views one gets from its summit. Amazing Donegal scenery. Enough said, just do it; it's not a tough climb.

You can take a great hike to the top, with a clear route and good car parking available at the base of the mountain. Terrific scenic views from the top.

Very good accommodation, superb restaurant and very satisfying bar food. Close to the centre of Letterkenny and a great place to stay if you want to play golf on several nearby courses.

When I die I want half my ashes sprinkled up here and the rest on the beach at Dunfanaghy such is the beauty of the area .....

We called on the off chance of finding a room for two nights that would accommodate a person with a wheel chair. A room was provided which was spacious and comfortable. The food was tasty and well cooked. Access around the hotel was excellent for the chair.

Beautiful mountain in the middle of nice valleys and lakes. It's worth doing it, even if the first part in the fields is wet ! Careful the wind approaching the summit, the saddles are very narrow,it might be dangerous, you never know where does come from the wind. It's better to have good shoes and hill-wlaking pools to climb it fore more safety. Beautiful view till ocean and on Glenveagh national patk when forecast is good.

Mount Errigal sits in the middle of Gaeltacht Donegal. It is breath taking in all seasons and when you climb it on a good day, the views are just magical.
