Just off the water , this scenic little wonder is not to be missed. The menu is full of surprises like fish and corn on the cob.

There are so many better places to go then here.. The water smells, and the people are rude. Its just a place i won't return to. Getting there takes you through some sketchy areas, if you get off the path you may find yourself if a bad area. Its NOT clean, do yourself a favor and skip this one!!

I drove up to Havre de Grace to meet a friend for lunch this week. It was a bright, sunny day although windy and cold. I was surprised at how the town seemed so much like a trip back to the 50's with a historic district containing small businesses such as an art supply store, family bakery, independent book store, etc. I enjoyed wandering the streets for awhile, ducking into antique shops and looking out at the Chesapeake Bay from their "pocket" parks just a block or two from the business section. Lunch was average but the restaurant had a gas burning fireplace that was lit to make the place more cozy. Since the day was cold they weren't many shoppers or people on the street, but my being bundled up in warm clothing made my walking around very pleasant and relaxing.

I recommend a slow stroll on this promenade, the ducks and the bay are worthy of your time and attention. Havre de Grace is a wonderful place to visit and live, I will spend more time here. The "Main Street" area (Washington Street) of the City is a must to also visit.

Take heed that no skateboards, roller-blades, or pets are allowed on the promenade. This wooden walkway is a great way to be by the water, watch passing ships, wild waterfowl, and take in some people watching. The garden area around the lighthouse is well kept, and the docks there are fun to check for what local fishermen are catching. Great for a stroll with the family during the day, or perhaps a romantic saunter at dusk.

The promenade is a lovely place to spend the afternoon. It is a boardwalk along the Chesapeake Bay. One may visit the lighthouse and light-keepers house. It is a lovely view from the lighthouse. Both of these sites are free, but they are only open on weekends during the summer.I recommend enjoying one of the wonderful restaurants and the boardwalk. It makes for a wonderful outing.

The Promenade threads it way past The Martime Museum and The Concord Point Lighthouse and is a nice walk with plenty of benches and good views of the bay. There are public restrooms across the street from the museum (which is a good thing because the museum was closed when we went.) Havre de Grace is a nice town to walk around and there are many good shops and restaurants located close to the promenade (5 minute walk or seconds away in your car)

Just a nice and peaceful walk along the river. Watching the boats and the birds makes a relaxing walk. Nice parking along the route.

I absolutely love going to Havre de Grace and walking the boardwalk from the promenade to the light house with a peach smoothie in my hand. Can't think of one time that I have had a bad experience while here. Come in the summer on Fridays to hear some great live music and soak up the sunset!

This promenade is 0.5 mile long. At one end you will find the historical Concord Point lighthouse. As you walk along there are many park benches where you can sit and look out over the water. There are several plaques that give information about the wildlife, the bay itself and the historical importance of the town. Continue walking to the other end where you will see a gazebo. Beyond that is a playground. There is a marina nearby so there are many small boats to see as well. The promenade is also very close to both the Decoy Museum and the Maritime Museum. The promenade is wide enough so if you want to walk at a slower pace, faster walkers can easy get by.

The Havre de Grace Promenade is a great place if you are a visiting sightseer from out of town or a local Harford Countian that strolls the promenade for exercise. The wooden promenade is wide so couple or families with kids can pass each other without being cramped against. The walking surface is smooth and presents no irregularities to stumble over. Spaced along the promenade are comfortable benches to rest or just take in the magnificent scenery. Also the promenade was made to coexist with the natural plants and landscape without obliterating them. In addition to the view are the ducks, geese, and Heron that populate the water along the promenade in the warm seasons in addition to other wildlife. On one stroll we saw a groundhog, rabbit and Bald Eagle all in the same area in addition to the large number of ducks and the solitary Heron keeping watch. Lights built into the promenade allow for walking after dusk. A fun and relaxing to spend some time on the waterfront.

One of the best things to do while in Havre de Grace is to take a refreshing stroll on the promenade. The views of the Susquehanna River and the Chesapeake Bay are stunning. If you begin the walk from the public marina side near Tydings Park, the walk will begin at a large wooden gazebo. There is a food shop here and restroom facilities as well. The walk will continue along a wide wooden walkway toward the Decoy Museum. You can exit here to visit the Decoy Museum or continue on the winding walkway toward the Maritime Museum. You can also exit the promenade near the Maritime Museum to visit the Maritime Museum. If you continue on the promenade, it makes a turn at this point within a wooded area toward a viewing deck at a narrow strip of land. Your stroll now involves changing from a wooden deck to concrete along this route, and you will no longer walk on wood. The concrete walkway will now wind its way north toward the Concord Point Lighthouse and the Lightkeepers House directly across from the lighthouse. There are numerous photo opportunities around the lighthouse. After visting the lighthouse and the lightkeepers house you have a choice. You can reverse your steps and return to the public marina at Tydings Park or better yet, make your way approximately 4 blocks due north and 2 blocks due west to Bomboy's Ice Cream Shop where the home made ice cream is a real treat. The new ice cream parlor has plenty of seating and the service is excellent. Bomboy's home made chocolate shop is across the street from the ice cream parlor. It too is a must.My only hope is that some day the promenade walk will be part of an integrated trail that extends the whole way from the pubic marina at Tydings Park, continue through the historic part of the city, then cross the Susquehanna River via a walking bridge to Perryville. The possibilities for walking, running, and biking would be amazing.

What a great area for a walk. The view is fantastic. Ducks and other waterfowl, boats and history abounds. Be sure to stop and contemplate the area around you as you walk. All the history that occurred here. Stop by the marina at the end for a bite to eat. During the year there are many events in the area. Enjoy!

My husband and I were in Havre de Grace for an anniverary get away. We spent some time waling along the promenade and really enjoyed the natural beauty of the waterfront. The area is rich in history, which my husband loved, and there are displays that explain the history of the area. I'm so glad they took the time and money to design this open space.
