We went before a Sabres game and most places were closed on Sunday's but they were open. It was a great spot with some great bees. Definitely will be going back.

I am a lifelong resident of Buffalo and deeply connected to the community in a myriad of ways. I have watched Buffalo decline and get banged up by the media. Its funny how seemingly simple things can set the course in a different direction, and Resurgence Brewery is one of these energetic , home-spun things that gets it going right. We dont need any franchises, anchors, chains, corporate garbage. The bar business doesn't need more sports bars, what we want and need is community and a place to gather and enjoy each others company, wind down, celebrate. If i was travelling to Buffalo NY, I would be so happy if I found this place. It's space alone is welcoming and the brews that are made here are top notch. The communal aspect and the "in the eye of industry" experience is the best part about Resurgence. We've all been to bars, this is not a bar. Its a gathering place. So gather here.

It is hard to believe you haven't been here yet! Hard to believe a place like this exists on Niagara St. In Buffalo. Another example of the rapid and dramatic turnaround this city has undergone. Out off all the places without a water view this place is the best. Good beer brewed in full view. German style beer hall with picnic tables to foster conversation inside, gorgeous Oktoberfest vibe outside. You can see the pics for yourself but let me tell you, unlike most places, it is way better in person. A wide variety of beer that is constantly changing, creative stuff of good quality that will only get better as they move forward. Place has been open less than a year. Ownership, brewers and staff are all top notch. Not even sure if it is the best beer on a Niagara St. ( Community Beer Works is solid) but it doesn't have to be. CBW operates a growler fill station out of its nano brewery and this place occupies perhaps the best space in the city. The beer could stand alone without the space and the space would be cool even if it wasn't a brewery, but together they are greater than the sum of their parts. All of the beer is good, some very good, and there have been a couple that are legit standouts. "Mash Tun Time Machine" comes to mind. A wheat wine that weighs in at over 9%, and hides it well. Excellent IPA as well. I had their Heffeweizen on a hot, humid evening over the summer, and the place looked outstanding and I could have drank 22 of those ice cold bubble gum and banana smelling Heffs. Not sure it was the best Heff I ever had but certainly the most enjoyable, and it isnt even my favorite style. The crowd is an attractive mix of 20 somethings, professionals, cool parents (bringing the kid is not frowned upon during the day), beer geeks, people who show up on their 10 speeds, hipsters and the occasional neighborhood vagrant. Pretty much the type of folks who reject Bud Lite, huge TVs, cement heads, and vinyl Corona signs adorning the walls. Food selection is somewhat limited but expanding and evolving. Mostly prepared local fare from various establishments. A seriously enjoyable experience. If you are new to the scene, don't be sticker shocked, just drink a bit slower and enjoy the quality of the product and beauty of the vibe. I never feel bad spending money here because it is truly an exceptional experience, and the owner and his people are all capital folks who are as interested in making our community better as much as they are delicious brew. Clear your schedule and make the trip....now. You won't regret it.

This is just what Buffalo needs to stay on the up and up. Highly recommend this brewery for a friends night out, to watch a sporting event (though, they currently only have one TV), or even for a romantic evening in the beer garden. I just visited the Brewery for the first time for an event with a bakery company. The beer was awesome! I tried the sponge candy stout, the peanut butter stout and a loganberry beer and WOW were they awesome. I travel to visit good beers, and I'm excited to say this one is in our backyard here in Buffalo. Cheers!

Awesome old building and a great reuse in an area definitely in need. Unfortunately the focus product "Beer" falls short in our opinion, not nearly as good as competing Brewpubs in the Buffalo area. That coupled with a seemingly inexperienced staff compiles the less then desirable experience. We did not try any of the food items but in fairness most likely will try them again to ensure it wasn't just a bad day.

Fun venue, easy for groups to gather at the picnic tables. We went Thanksgiving weekend and it was standing room only. Enjoyed the unique beers- Peanut Butter Stout anyone? We didn't order food and didn't feel like we missed out as the menu seemed like basic snacks. I would visit again.

Nice new facility, with a great interior and exterior drinking areas. They have a lot of different beers, but most were some variation of the type, like Smoked Cider Saisson, loganberry wit, and sponge candy stout. Not my style, but maybe others enjoy it. But I feel that their prices are a little high for a pint with most at $6.50. It was nice to go there once, but I doubt I'll go there again soon.

Went here for the first time on a jack & Jill party bus. It's located in Black Rock area of Buffalo on Niagara St. We just went for drinks and they had a great selection of beers and seasonal brews. Great ambiance with high ceilings and a huge outdoor patio. Truly a beer lovers paradise! Also a few fun games to entertain your friends while tilting back some cold ones. Next time I'll try the food.

Stopped by for the first time last night and was very impressed. The place was clean and the staff was knowledgable and friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating and also have games you can play while hanging out. Beer selection was really nice, enjoyed the Spong Candy Stout very much. This place is an up and coming craft brewery in Buffalo that is worth checking out!!!

This is a new brewery in Buffalo. It has $5 beer flights and you get to choose the beers. Be sure to try the sponge candy stout. The summer saison, smokey the beer and loganberry beer were also very good. Great outdoor seating . Was advised by others that the sangria was great. They have some games- darts, large jenga, etc. Great place to meet people for a drink.

Got to have the IPA and sponge candy stout. Others liked the logenbery wit. Wish we could have stayed longer. Big place can easily accommodate large groups

We stopped in for a beer tasting having heard about the place, when we arrived the place was bright clean and welcoming, we proceeded to the bar and the bartender was not friendly and not very helpful, at that time we wish we sat at the other end where the other bartender seemed better. We then got our flights of beers ordered some hot pretzels and proceeded outside to sit, the beers were all up to par and the pretzels were great, the place itself is comfortable and fun , we would return and I hope that I can then upgrade the rating because the place and beer deserves it,but the customer service at the bar is very important in a place that is about the drink (beer) and that it the only reason for the lower rating. But we will return at least one more time.

In the river-side building formerly housing the Sterling Engine Company, is the newest member of Buffalo's craft brewing community. The interior is fresh, clean, modern, and enough of a throwback to the factory days to make this place exactly what it should be. Part of it is German style beer hall with long communal tables to drink and socialize at, with a large hangar door open on the side to provide fresh air and provide a nice view of their patio. The outdoor patio is recessed, with smaller tables surrounding a gas-fired giant firepit. The beer...About 10 flavors, all priced the same for pints with flights of 4 available if you want to try some different flavors and not get wasted. The flavor/quality is average overall with some winners and some losers. I tried a flight to start. Their Session IPA was either awful for the style or I was given the wrong beer...I'm hoping for the latter. The Loganberry Wit sounded incredibly Buffalotastic, and was quite pink as I expected. The berry was barely noticeable however, and the beer was bland with little carbonation. Blood Orange Saison was above average, with quite the orange rind flavor to it. Kind of a slick, oily texture to it (like many American-brewed saisons), but it was refreshing and interesting. The Sponge Candy Stout was my clear favorite, dry finish with TONS of coffeelike roasted notes and flavors. I liked it fine as it, but it could use lots more sweetness, chocolate, and toffee notes to truly live up to its name. So I guess some of the beers could use tweaking if they want to live up to the consistency of Flying Bison or the quality of Community Beer Works. Food and bar service looked overwhelmed, but considering their newness and the throngs of people visiting, it's okay. It will be a well oiled machine soon enough, much like the engines that were once produced here. Bottom line: 4 stars (5 stars for the beautiful space and idea, 3 stars for the initial batch of products on offer) In other words, do yourselves a favor and check this place out. It's something that's been sorely needed in this city and it's been put together very nicely. While not all the beers will appeal to everyone, they have enough variety and creativity to have a beer for any palate. I look forward to repeat visits to taste the evolution of their beers and enjoy the atmosphere.
