We were hoping to make a day out of visiting the museum, the building itself was huge so we figured there would be so much to see. There was only one room and it was very small. However, many cool artifacts and memorabilia of the Olympic games. The different torches was probably my favorite part. I wouldn't call it a waste of money because I definitely learned a lot, but I am not sure if i would make a point to go again.

Great stop for the kids to learn more about the olympics and the journey of the 1980 hockey team. Very interesting and fun.

Lots of exhibits in a fairly small space. Torches, uniforms, bobsleds. A few movies. Staff is very helpful and informative.

The museum is very small but has a lot of interesting artifacts. Nothing to blow your hair back. It could do with some more info on the Olympics in general and a nice guide.

I liked the videos about Sonja Henie and the '80 Olympics, also the displays of artifacts and the hall of fame.

As several reviewers have mentioned, the museum is small. However the amount of information and knowledge retained within it's walls are great for any sports or Olympic enthusiast. Pictures and memorabilia from the Olympics are nicely grouped together and maintained. It gives a great glimpse into the era and what occurred at Lake Placid. There is a nominal charge but the museum itself I felt was worth the fee. The entire experience can be completed in under an hour or so.

$7 to enter...it should be free! the building is about 30' x 50' at a glance you can see it all! the museum store is about 5'x 5' nothing in it....nothing worth really seeing.

My Wife,Son and myself all took the opportunity to visit this museum whilst at Lake Placid, well worth a visit with some very nicely done exhibits and small enough to not be overwhelming. Lots of facts and displays of original artifacts from skates to skis with Bobsleds. spend 30 minutes to and hour visit the rinks on the same day, where the Miracle on Ice occurred

The teens wee a bit reluctant to visit this museum but once through the door, opportunity to experience history took over. One of the displays which generated the most discussion were the Olympic torches...and whether they were "real" or copies? That was all of our ah-hah moments...real, of course! The flame not the torch is passed so there are plenty of touches to go around!

Great for all ages. 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics are showcased, but the displays really do give an excellent historical perspective of the Winter Games. Videos are excellent...any winter sports fan will find something they can call a "favorite."

It was great, my daughter skated in the Herb Brooks Arena, such a wonderful, historic place and is kept so clean. Wonderful place to see skating!

It has a lot more skating info than any other olympic info. Definitely a nice place to stop and worth the money, but I would assume people would expect more.

As museums go, this was well organised. Reasonable admission fee. A bit too focussed on the USA achievements, but that is to be expected. Well worth an hour of your time.

What a site! Not only do they have a great collection of hockey history, they offer a lot of great general Winter Olympic history to take a look at. The ice arena is a must! To walk around inside there, go right down to the glass and see the rink where it happened, really neat! This visit took me back to the memories of watching the game on TV. "If these walls could talk........." Don't miss it if you are in LPNY.

Have enough time to watch all the videos. The indoor ice rink had skaters practicing which was very exciting. The outdoor speed skating rink also had people practicing. Just loved the whole experience!
