This was a fun night out for our family. The atmosphere was fun and the food was great. We loved the live music by Berte. He was outstanding. All of the staff were professional and friendly. They were available to greet us as soon as we stepped out of the car. Start to finish we loved the experience and history of the ranch. We especially enjoyed our sleigh ride with Tink under the clear sky. The stars were so bright and amazing. You will want a jacket for the sleigh ride, but they also have blankets available on the sleigh to keep warm and cozy. After our sleigh ride our 2 year old son was able to pet the horses, which he loved. He was also very infatuated by the lovely fire place near our table. It kept him entertained all during dinner. After dinner it was fun to sit around the campfire outside too!

A last minute decision to take my 5 kids (9-16) up for the evening, celebrating two of their birthdays. We pulled in the driveway welcomed by sparkling white lights and greeted as soon as we stepped out of the car.We went into the old cabin, welcomed by a warm fire, steak chili, hot chocolate and soothing music being played by a solo guitarist. We went on a sleigh ride before AND after dinner - learning about the history of the ranch and gazing at so many constellations. The dinner was delicious and there was plenty. Dessert was wonderful and the kids LOVED roasting their marshmallows on 'real' sticks and making s'mores. Before we left, the musician sang Happy Birthday to my kids. We enjoyed meeting all of the other guests and the hosts felt like family by the time we left. The perfect way to warm a cold winter's night!

This is a fun night out for anyone - families, couples, friends, etc. It's an easy drive from the Vail area. We were greeted as we pulled into the parking lot, and shown inside to the dining room, where there was already live music playing. We took our horse-drawn sleigh ride before dinner, and really enjoyed the little history lesson from the sleigh driver. They give you wool blankets to help keep warm, but it's a good idea to bundle up anyway, as it gets cold once the sun goes down. Once we returned from the ride, we went to our table and warmed up with a bowl of delicious steak chili. My friend and I were seated with a group of women and their daughters, who were on a mother-daughter trip, and it was really fun to get to know them. (If you don't want to share a table with others, I would ask ahead of time, as most of the tables seemed to seat 8-12 people.) The music was great - a singer/guitar player who played everything from Willie Nelson to a countrified version of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" to Neil Young, accompanied by a woman who sang harmony and played tambourine. The main meal is served buffet style, and is hearty comfort food like grilled chicken breasts, ribs, steak, mac-n-cheese, green beans, etc. Dinner is chocolate chip cookies, or you can make smores at the campfire outside. It's really great for parents, because you can safely let the kids run around outside and there's no trouble for them to get into. It's a nice break from the fine dining in Vail and Beaver Creek - something a little more casual but still very special.

There are very few sleigh ride to dinners offered in the valley, that have REAL horses pulling the sleigh! This is one of them. We were greeted by someone the minute we got out of the car (they can also pick you up at your hotel or condo) and showed around the place. We were about 1/2 hour early for dinner, so we opted to take the sleigh ride first, then eat. Beautiful horses pulling, the dog running alongside the sleigh, horses out in the pasture and the guide with many fun stories about the area. Dinner was good, most of the wines offered were local and also good, the duo playing music all night were fantastic and we ended the night cooking s'mores outside by the open fire - just a fun night all around! I would highly recommend this activity if you are in the Vail Valley.

In our kids' first trip out west, we wanted to take them on a sleigh ride dinner. This place hits it out of the park. The ranch is really cool. They provide a buffet dinner with excellent food. Highly recommend the ribs and steak. There's a guitar singer performing in the dining room that adds to the mood. For two hours you can take your kids on a 20 minute sleigh ride as many times as you would like. After dinner there are smores by the campfire. The kids loved it. Highly recommend this outing for families!!

Hi Grace,Thank you very much for the review of your Sleigh Ride Dinner experience in January and for your suggestions. We tried doing our dinners earlier, but found that starting at 6:00pm works better for guests who have come to the Vail Valley to ski. It gives them time to rest after a day on the slopes before heading out for a fun night at the Ranch. There's nothing quite as beautiful as a sky full of stars, with no other lights to take away from them, but you're right......the Ranch in the daylight is equally as beautiful. I hope we get to see you again soon, maybe at a Western Family Night or one of our free rodeos during the summer.Sincerely,Kristen

4 Eagle is a sprawling facility with lots to do during the high season. Banquet hall, zip line tours, ATV tours, etc. we went during the off season after summer but before ski season, loved it because we had the place nearly to ourselves. We took a leisurely horseback ride for 90 minutes. Across a prairie, up to an elevated Mesa, it was very relaxing. There are 'advanced' rides for those experienced that want more than the single file line experience. Nice staff, reasonably priced. Animals seemed well taken care of.

I was looking for an advanced ride while staying in Beaver Creek. Local stables only offered 1-3 hour walking tours, not my style. Concierge at Ritz contacted 4-Eagle and set us up for 2 hour advanced ride. Leilani was our guide and was great. She is more of a camera nut than I and documented our whole ride. She detailed all of the points of interest while also allowing us to enjoy the ride. The horses are well cared for and were responsive but still required handling, not you typical follow behind trail horses. We traversed many different styles of terrain from pastures to craggy narrow declines. There was miles of sage brush and staggering cliffs. Our tippy top pix was near 8,000 ft. So much fun, such a memorable day. Will be back again and try out the on site zip line tour and off road tour. My only suggestion is please get some water. It was 85 degrees and dry. We were parched. Thanks to the zip line dude for sharing ice cold water. Thanks Lelani.

This is a real working ranch. Cows, Buffalo, and beautiful Clydesdale horses. Don't go unless you want to get a little dirty. Not for city chicks.

On our recent family vacation I managed to escape with my best friend for an hour ride at 4 Eagle. This location was highly recommended to us by locals we know, and the reviews were all positive. It was less than 30 minutes from Vail, and we choose and afternoon time slot despite the chances of rain (afternoon showers were common throughout our week this summer).I only picked the one hour slot because I wasnt sure how much "fun" the outfit would allow on the more intermediate or advanced rides, and my friend hadn't ridden in a few years, I played it safe with begginer level. I was very sad that I had not picked a half day ride for us! Our guide was phenmonial, our horses were well behaved. The views are beautiful, and we were able to stop for her to take pictures of us together. Nex time I will come back for sure and we will take the time for a 4 hour, or the cattle drive!

Let me start by writing that LaLoni (the guide) provides that mix of challenges and staying safe for everybody in the group (even at different rider experience levels) that makes great trail rides great. This is NOT your nose-to-tail ride with horses that will refuse to go where you want to go; neither is expected that you stay on trails. We have now done the Cattle Drive 4 times, the advanced trail ride 4 times and we always want to come back for more. Why? For one, LaLoni is always in a good mood, even fulfills "exotic" requests (we looked (and found) for antlers); second: the horses are trained, healthy and strong - some of the hills they climb (with you on them) you would have problems hiking up, but their horses make it look & feel easy. Third: the cattle drive is the real deal and you can contribute - even if you are not experienced. You actually ride up the mountain and start looking for the cattle - they are somewhere else every day....way cool. Then you bring them back to the ranch. All 50 of them. Most of the time. Real fun, real ranch work. Afterwards you may feel like you should get paid, but more fun on horseback will be hard to find. In fact you engage so much in driving the Texas Longhorns that you will forget you are on a horse. The advanced trail ride brings you to the BLM - the backside of the ranch with major altitude gain, great views (we were lucky to watch the US Biking Challenge from up here) and riding at all speeds - they have great highlands, where you can canter you heart out. In short: you will love this! Ask for LaLoni. We love her.

We went to a FREE summer rodeo here on Wednesday and for someone who had never been to a rodeo, it was fascinating!! We really enjoyed ourselves. My only regret is that we did not get there earlier in the day because apparently the ranch is open during the day too and they have many different western things to do!

My daughter and I try to do a trail ride each vacation trip. We've already done a ride in Sequoia State Park in oklahoma during spring break of this year. This ride has been the best, number one we were allowed to canter and trot our horses. We were allowed to join the advance group after the girl during check-in learned that we rode as often as we do. Thank you very much for letting us do this. The young lady who was our guide did an excellent job of explaining and advising us along the way. Fivr stars to her!! We could tell that she really enjoyed her job.
