A charming park on the banks of the Arkansas River. The site for lots of music during the summer as well as the world-famous FIBArk festival every year over Father's Day weekend.

Every year between Thanksgiving and New Year's the Riverside Park is transformed into a magical Christmas park with decorated trees lining the walkways. Each tree is decorated by local folks in honor of a business, family or memorial. It is quite something

The Arkansas river flows through the town. As we walked along its banks I had spotted many fish. Wishing now I would have brought my fly rod. I bet this place is hopping during the summer months with kayaks in their kayak park.

In this park you will find a large boulder to sit and enjoy the sounds of the water early morning or watch kayakers hone their skill. Town events are help in this park with crowd control by the local authorizes. Enjoy a peaceful walk along the river starting here.

Didn't spend much time here - just walked along the riverside. But it was lovely and peaceful and it's obvious that a lot of thought went into planning the area. Salida is a town with a really nice relaxed feel about it, and the park just adds to this.

As you "discover" downtown Salida, make sure you spend time down at the river and at the park. Not big, the redevelopment along the river is a great model for other cities, fun for a tourist or local, and just a pleasant place to hangout. Lots of restaurants along side and nearby. Salida is a fun place!

What a lovely park! Huge trees, lush grass, concrete walk along the Arkansas River. This park hosts antique car shows, artists sales, beer festivals, small concerts, nationally known kayaking runs, and a FIB-ARK celebration every year. A couple of open air restaurants can be found nearby which overlook the river.

After eating at Amicas, the best pizza in Salida (if not all of Colorado), we headed down to the park next to the river. The trees here are huge and ancient and provide plenty of shade for the cool green lush grass. There’s a playground for the kids with slides and things to climb on for both the smaller and bigger kids. Be careful of the metal turtle sculpture because it could be very hot if the sun has been on it. There are paved walk ways on two levels that will give you access to walk right down next to the Arkansas River. At the end of the trail there’s a huge pile of boulders where you can watch kayakers shoot the rapids. There’s a stage shell, where a band could give a performance. On the day we arrived there was a classic car show on one side of the park. Big shady trees, lush green grass, a cozy little historic downtown on one side and the river on the other side, and the massive Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, what more could you want! I would recommend Riverside Park.
