What a great time on the train, a steam engine. And the trip is great for singles...check out the conductors.

The steam engine wasn't running, which was a disappointment. The ride was pleasant and they took us to "pumpkin junction". There was a corn maze, which was free and some other attractions which required additional payment.

This is strictly for train enthusiasts. The steam engine is running now and it's a nice one. The cars are old but try are old and have a bit of charm. The ride is not 90 mins, it's really like 50 with a stop in between. Overall it's a nice ride through the woods and old industrial. If you are looking for fancy it's not that. For the price it's perfect. New hope is way more and only slightly better and there is free parking here, not at new hope.

I have been going to the BRW for many years now. Never am I disappointed. Make sure you visit when they run the steam engine #60. They have the schedule of when the locomotive runs on their website.

A pleasant little railway with limited amount to see prior to the ride but the guy selling tickets was very interesting to talk to.The ride itself was behind a diesel switcher, in good vintage coaches.A pleasant interlude on a hot day

We took this train for my son who LOVES trains! I found it just by luck. The ride is a short one, the gift shop is cute, we took it into the town of Flemington and had some lunch and walked around then took the train back. We have taken similar trips, this one was pretty short, which I think is good. :-) One in DE took us to a very small park for a half hour and we came back. I really liked the fact that we were taken to another town that had several things to do and shops to visit, also many choices for lunch. We all had a great time and it was a great idea for a day trip.

Compared to the New Hope and Ivy Railroad across the Delaware River, this train is kind of drab. Somewhat more interesting if the steam engine is running. The 5-mile route from Ringoes to Flemington partly runs along Route 202 and runs along some industrial areas, especially when you get closer to Flemington. The speed is slow, and not much to see. There isn't much to do/see/eat around the station in Ringoes and the Flemington outlet mall is also getting run down. If you have kids who like trains, go to New Hope instead.

Living here my whole life and only experiencing this old steam train ride a few times, I wanted me to take the kids on it. What fun, we had the magician and when we got to Ringoes we had Madge make the kids animal balloons. Leaving from Flemington and Turntable was a great ride. Will definitely do again.

The train at one time ran north to Flemington and south to Lambertville. Unfortunately because the the condition of a couple of bridges the southern portion has been curtailed for some time now. The bad part that this was the best part of the ride as it went through areas that were heavily wooded and virtually no signs of civilization. It made you feel that you had gone back in time. The northern ride is not bad. There are many old restored and not restored trains to see at the station, including a touring car from the Arizona Eastern Railway. They offer special rides on the holidays. In addition for the fall the train stops at Pumpkin Junction for a cornfield maze. This is a perfect attraction for those who have visited Northlandz earlier in the day.

July 21st we took our granddaughter to Ringoes to ride the steam engine on the Black River and Western Railroad. To our surprise, no steam engine. It only runs on certain occassions. We decided to ride the train anyway and were disappointed. They advertise a 90 minutes ride, not so. You leave Ringoes ride for about 30 minutes to Flemington through the woods with nothing really to see, very boring ride. Spend 20 minutes in Flemington, not really enough time to do anything and no restroom facilities in Flemington. You return to Ringors throught the same boring wooded area in about 25 minutes, making the actual train ride about 55 minutes. Not worth the trip to Ringoes and certainly not worth the cost of the train ride.I would suggest you find another trian to take your children on.

A great place to take visitors. It is unexpected not to far and a great price. Kids loved it. They run special events through out the year so good to check in with them.

Sorry sight to see that the steam engine is still broken for the last few years! They seem to be operating on a shoe string. That tired old diesel switcher sounds like it's on it's last legs. Not they way it used to be.

This is a great trip for young and old; especially families. Nicely run and a feel for the good old days.

A very relaxing train ride from Flemington to Ringos and back. Kids love it too. You could also go to Ringos and head to Flemington. The Flemington station is right by the outlets which makes it even better.

My son grew up since the age of 2 being a railroad enthusiast to this day. So I was able to view picture of this train via is enthusiast connections, but not sure if it runs in NJ anymore.
