lighthouse country club

Ate at the Lighthouse Country club Saturday night. The dinning experience could not have been better. The restaurant has a new chef and menu. We had the grilled shrimp and salmon. Both dishes were excellent and could not have been better. The salad was fresh and delicious . Service was outstanding. You owe it to yourself to try the new and improved Lighthouse restaurant. It is totally different than it was.

Don't plan on eating here unless you call first. In the last 2 weeks, I have tried to eat here during their "open" hours and they are closed. Called at 2:30 and they weren't open because they close at 3:00. Don't waste your time driving way out there. I won't any more!

This course is one of the BEST courses I've ever played! The greens had just been sanded & airated, but were still excellent -- in a week or two will be outstanding! The fairways were definitely country club quality. Staff was knowleable & friendly. Price was a bargain for the quality of the course!!

If you haven't played this club you have an awesome experience in store. The new owners have put a lot of time and money in the course. This is the high light of the hill country. I challenge all you golfer's to a day of pure enjoyment, and a challenge you will not forget.

Steaks are always over cooked, veggies are frozen mush, their desserts are also frozen that they thaw in a microwave, not in house baked at all. Their salad dressings are cheap bottled mess which is sad because they used to have homemade dressing, their old blue cheese before their chef and entire staff walked for being with complete disrespect was amazing. I literally ordered a salad every time just to get their blue cheese dressing. Now the food is more expensive and taste horrible. I cannot find myself spending any more money at this place, especially after finding out the way they treat their employees.

The course was ok except for the crab grass around most of the greens, the greens by themselves were good. The rest of the course pretty basic the sand or should I say gravel in the bunkers suck. The real order of business was in the proshop one guy looks like a convict with tattos on his arms and was studdering so bad when I asked a couple of questions he couldnt answer basic golf industry questions, then this older guy. The old Packsaddle CC was redone and renamed Lighthouse CC a couple of years ago. The renovation was dramatic and outstanding!! The course is well maintained and beautiful and the club house and bar and grill offers a nice variety of food and drinks. I see that they now offer stay and play packages in what appear to be very nice new condo units. I highly recommend the course and am glad that Kingsland has another good dining choice to offer.

Beautiful surroundings, nice staff but the food was not good. Our family went for Mother's Day buffet. Lubys would have been MUCH better. The salad was good but that's about it. Its hard to mess up salad.

The New Lighthouse Country Club is beautiful and the staff is great! The new staff is working very hard and it is showing. The course is beautiful and the restaurant is great with good food, drinks friendly staff and lots of fun!!

We were here from Colorado in November 2010 and were pleasantly surprised. The course was in good shape (considering the drought), the price was right and most of all, the course was fun to play. Our only complaint was (and this is true of a lot of Texas) that some folks think their cigarette butts make good landscape decorations. THEY'RE TRASH, deal with them like trash. "Don't mess with Texas" must not apply to smokers.We're coming back here this November (2011). Haven't played the other course in the area, but plan to... but after we play Packsaddle again.

I wouldnt recommend playing golf here. The fairways are usually in terrible shape. greens can be ok. I dont think they have a sprinkler system on the fairways so it can get rough in the summer. Also no official cart paths either. I will say it is cheap, so if you want to go somewhere where you can hack around then this might be the place for you.If you want a nice round of golf nearby then go to Legends at LBJ which is 5-10 minutes away.
