This is a very good small museum, especially pertaining to the dinosaur footprints. Our only wish was that they had a bigger building to house the exhibits about pioneer times in the area, native Americans, and the building of the Canyon Lake dam. If those areas were presented in a more professional expanded manner, in a larger facility, this could be a 5-star museum. They obviously need some financial assistance. The rusted agriculture implements in the front yard are more an eyesore than an eye-catcher. But the oral intro to the dino tracks and the exhibit were good.

It may be a small museum, but it was quite informative and interesting. The staff really knew their stuff and could answer any of your questions. The dinosaur tracks were quite interesting. The museum also had native American artifacts, and a history of the Canyon Lake Dam. There were outdoor displays of historical farming and tools. There was a small gift shop, too. Entrance is only $4. Winter hours are 1:00-5:00. Summer hours 10:00-4:00.

This museum is not large but has some interesting displays and we very much enjoyed our visit. The dinosaur tracks were neat. A nice little Hill Country treat.

This place was just fascinating!!! Our tour guide was wonderful and explained everything. There are two types of dinosaur prints and two snail trails! I have done the Canyon Lake Gorge tour in the past, this was just as fulfilling and informative. I plan on taking our out of town visitors here from now on! We went on a Thursday afternoon, not crowded at all. For a while we were the only ones there and we had our own tour. The antiques they have on display are very interesting.

Interesting exhibits. I enjoyed the talks about dinosaurs. It's not a huge museum, but it's well organized and there are signs to explain everything.

It's a little museum but my family got a wonderful tour! She went over dinosaur history of our area before seeing the tracks. Then we went in and saw the rest of the museum which has wonderful artifacts from the area. Plan on spending about 45 minutes.

the staff is knowledgeable about the topic, they seem to love what they do, the museum could add more things, it seems limited.

Loved learning about the ancient times of the area, seeing fossils, dinosaur prints, ect. Short and sweet. loved seeing the dino prints that were captured in lime stone. Had a guided tour.

The main attraction was the dinosaur tracks. The volunteer was very nice. Since we were the only people there at the time, we got a private tour with her. The cost was reasonable for maintaining the museum and preserve the tracks. Great place for the kids.

Excellent example of Texas Hill Country dinosaur tracks. Easy location to find. Covered area where dinosaur tracks are located. Srmall museum with early pioneer artifacts. Informative docent led our tour. Wonderful story of how the tracks were discovered! Students in my group LOVED seeing all the tracks.

One day a developer was plowing out the side of a hill right on the main highway FM2673 and found many, many strange tracks. They were dinosaur tracks from many long years ago, even before the earth was here according to some. Now you can see these tracks for yourself. Recently metal shade structures were installed making summer on a rocky hillside a little easier to take. An old building has almost high school quality displays discussing the evolution (maybe a bad word?) of the area which was once a sea.

If you are close to this museum it is worth the trip. It is an amazing unveiling of 110 million year old dinosaur footprints in mass. I have never seen such a clear visual of history. Under a large steel pole-barn are at least 60 dinosaur footprints that reveal the path of these giants. Great field trip!! It is a short trip, might take only an hour to visit, but worth it for sure!

Enjoyed strolling outside and looking at the dino tracks. Its nice that they covered them for preservation. The structure was tastefully done and the entire outside area looks very professionally landscaped. Inside are 2 rooms with local history and prehistoric displays. Worth a stop.

Located in the in the beautiful Canyon Lake area, the MUSEUM has displays on: Native American Artifacts, Early Pioneers including Farm Machinery, the Canyon Dam History, Fossils, Gift Shop, open air picnic area, and the Heritage Garden Trail of native Texas plants.

We arrived on Saturday, June 9, with lots of anticipation of what we'd find. After paying $20 for the five of us, we headed out to see the dino tracks. Located under a large, covered pavilion, we were disappointed that we weren't given access to view the tracks up close. In fact, the walkway keeps you pretty far from the tracks. Worse yet, there were no signs or interpretations of what we could barely see with our eyes. Very disappointing. There was a half-finished large-scale t-Rex dino located under the pavilion as well. It kinda fit the theme we were experiencing...not complete. It seems the museum needs some time to get these things worked out, especially if it's going to promote the dinosaur aspect of its exhibits.
