This was my 6th visit to River District Arts over the last two years. I would go more often but live a bit too far away! I love the ambiance of the restored apple mill which combined with the fantastic artwork makes RDA a charming place to visit! The artwork and pottery are top notch and the exhibits have been a joy to view. Icing on the cake is that the location in Sperryville is spectacular with the mountain views and quiet friendly atmosphere! I've come home with distinctive one of a kind gifts that thrilled the receivers.

This "gallery" is a mini "Torpedo Factory (Alexandria VA). Numerous artisans of all types many of which are there in their own spaces. Some of the artists are much friendlier than others - some have an overvalued self but you can find something by carefully perusing all that is available.

Tucked away on River Lane in Sperryville VA - off Rte 211, is a jewel of a place. Stop here on your way to or from the Shenandoah National ParkIt has avariety of fine art, photography crafts and pottery here. And there were wonderful Virginia crafts, pottery, felt, beautiful rugs, hand woven scarves, - a tapas and traditional Spanish food restaurant coming soon - check it out

I would like to say there is something here fir everyone. That us not the case. A grouping of diverse art styles that does not seem well organized. Expensive (is there a price on art?), off-center, not openly friendly.

tucked in along side the river in the little town of Sperryville, Va., sits the River District Arts. Amazing renov done to this old apple barn structure that now showcases many talented local artists studios. Definitely a spot to stop and see great arts & crafts and enjoy the scenic mountain views from the large outside porch. Adjacent you will find the huge Copper Fox Antiques wharehouse, the Copper Fox Distillery and Rag Mountain Photography and more - all within a few steps. More awaits you in downtown Sperryville at Haley Art Gallery, Thorton River Grille Restaurant and The Corner Store & Pizza and the old school house Antiques at the LINK. Great accommodations at The Hopkins Ordinary, Just out of town you'll find Cherry Hill Antiques and Harmony Hall B&B. Lots to see and do in this beautiful little town - and it all starts at River District Arts!

River District Arts is located in a wonderful old apple packing building in the heart of beautiful Rappahannock County. The facility has a number of studios featuring a range of fabulous artistic works by some of the Rappahannock's best artists. I understand a tapas/Spanish restaurant will be opening in the building in very near future. Just a few steps a way you can visit the Copper Fox Distillery and the huge Copper Fox Antique store. This place makes for an enjoyable afternoon outing.

If you are like me and enjoy furnishing the walls of your home with original art, this is a great place to be. They have a wide selection of artists using various media. I have a hard time going and not bringing something home with me. Even if you're simply invested in seeing what local artists are up to, it's a fun place to walk through and peruse.

This place is hard to find. I had the address but it didn't help because when we neared Sperryville, my phone registered no service and my car GPS said info was unavailable as well. If you go into historic Sperryville, there are no signs directing you to this locale but if you stay on route 211, you can follow the sign for Copper Fox distillery since they are in the same complex. From town, take Water Street through a residential section, over a one lane bridge, and a bit further you will arrive at River Lane. There are a variety of crafts on display - jewelry, pottery, photography, hand-painted silk, and woodwork. The collection is modest but good quality. The bulk of the extended building is devoted to paintings and drawings. There is a nice variety of styles and subject matter, all good quality.

The building houses several studios open to the side hall so that one can walk in to meet the artist if there or to choose an item to buy.The qualtiy of the jewelry, art, pottery is excellent.I have purchased items before. There is also a gallery to view paintings.A place well worth the visit!

A cute little art and crafts studio in Sperryville. Not very big, but there is a gallery, an arts and crafts mall, and an artists studio walk. A great place to stop on through on your way to other places. Don't miss the outdoor photography studio on your way over to the other attractions in this little center!

What a surprise to find this lovely art gallery/ studio space in Sperryville, Va! An old post and beam apple packing facility has been converted into a bright and spacious art gallery. Inside you'll find individual artists' studio spaces and galleries, a pottery and craft exhibits. You can meet and talk with the artists who are friendly and welcoming as is Holly at the front desk. The weekend I visited they were offering a wine and food pairing with hors d'oeuvres and wine samples from Virginia vineyards.

River District is a must-see when you visit Sperryville. A wonderful gallery with artists working live in attached studios. There is a small gift shop. When we were there last, there was a restaurant, but I heard it closed for awhile, so I hope they reopened. Of course, art is for sale, so support your local artists and if you have wall space you are trying to fill, consider visit this center.

We visited during the Rappahannock Farm Tour and enjoyed the art displays, local foods, and talking with friendly staffers.
