Not only does this shop have an impressive stock of Mississippi blues CDs, but the knowledgeable owner, Roger, will tell you the best places to hear music on any particular night. This is a business owned by someone who deeply cares about Delta culture, and who is actively involved in many of its preservation efforts.

On Delta just up the street from both Ground Zero and the Blues Museum. If you want to find out what's happening for local music talk to the owner as he has the list of who's playing and where. Also a wealth of information on upcoming festivals and when to book a hotel as in some cases you might want to plan a year in advance as everywhere will be sold out.

This is one cool music shop! Roger Stolle has a wide variety of local artists' creations for your listening, viewing, and shopping pleasure. There are CD's by Blues greats as well as local unknowns. There are DVDs of live performances and documentaries detailing the importance of music, especially the blues, to the rich heritage of the Mississippi delta region. One of a kind, original artwork, many done by multitalented blues musicians, hang on the walls. You can even pick up a cigar box guitar created by Super Chickan! Most weekends there are musicians "busking" or playing for tips on the sidewalk in front of the store. Roger is the goto guy to find out who's playing where on any given night, and he usually makes the rounds each evening to support the Arts. Great guy. Be sure to stop in on your next trip to Clarksdale!

This place is a must stop for Blues lovers. Mostly a music store, with some very hard to find titles. Roger Stolle the proprietor is a wealth of information on the area and it's musical past.

A broad selection of music and blues....friendly owner/manager. Great place to pick up some souvenirs and one of the BEST spots to get a list of what music is playing in Clarksdale that week.

Roger has the scoop on everything going on and his store is very cool. It's a must for the first place to stop in Clarksdale.

I've been to Cat Head Delta Blues & Folk Art several times and every time is though it's a new experience, can't describe the inner pleasure I feel when crossing its threshold and listening to great blues inside this authentic blues environment. It's an amazing place, in the heart of Clarksdale downtown, within walking distance of many blues venues, full of Blues memorabilia, CDs, books, pictures, magazines and art so if you are in your blues pilgrimage to the land where the blues began it's highly recommended, you can't miss it!!. Besides all these features you'll have the chance to talk to Roger Stolle, its owner, a Blues expert who knows where and when to find the best live blues in the region. Thus, do yourself a favor, when in Clarkdale, Mississippi don't miss this amazing store.

I stopped in to Cat Head as soon as I got to Clarksdale. Roger Stolle was super helpful in directing me to the best music that night, the store has really cool stuff, and I got me a mojo hand (look out ladies).

Roger Stolle has done, and continues to do, a fantastic job, leading the charge to preserve and renew the musical and artistic cultural heritage of the Mississippi Delta. My wife and I went a little nuts trying to buy out his stock of local art, CDs, DVDs, books, posters, etc.. Cat Head is the clearinghouse for everything happening in the region, and a great place to hang out and hear some music. If you want to find the beating heart of the contemporary Delta Blues scene and take it's pulse, Cat Head should be your first stop.

Clarksdale Mississippi wasn't even on our list of places to stop as we traveled up the Mississippi Delta from Natchez to Memphis but thank goodness we did. While visiting the Rock and Blues Museum (another must see), we heard about Cat Head and stopped in. The owner Roger Stolle was really knowledgeable and interesting and gave us a sense of what's been happening to save the authentic blues music. He was so down to earth and passionate about the topic, and we found some wonderful things in the store - great local art, authentic posters, music, etc. We were not blues music aficionados but between the museum and Cat Head, we know a lot more and have been listening to some of the music. Whether you're a Blues fanatic or newbie, if you're anywhere close pay a visit.

The original artwork in this shop reflects the deep history of blues in this culturally steeped area. Cat Head Delta is THE Blues Department Store. Blues magazines-past and present- can be found; the most obscure CD's are waiting to be found; books about the genre are numerous; and if you collect tee-shirts- this is a must stop. At times, authentic area musicians play live music on the street as you walk in. If you love the blues this is a must stop.

A really nice stop in Clarksville if you are doing a blues pilgrimage. The shop owner was friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed our visit and it gave us a chance to support a small shop owner dedicated to help preserving blues heritage.

You can't go to Clarksdale and not pay a visit to Roger Stolle at Cat Head. It's filled with stuff any blues lover would want to take home. Cat Head has been responsible for several blues CDs and some major blues video DVDs including, M for Mississippi and We Juke in Here. Make it your first stop in town because Roger is who can tell you what's going on, who's in town, where to go for the best blues each evening.
