An interesting place to visit and learn a little history of the area. The ice cream sundae is a must!

Some construction in area, but it is worth going to. The voluntary staff will tell you about the house where the ice cream Sunday was first made. There are 7 rooms of items to explore on the first floor of this 1850 saloon and hotel. Upstairs there is the Ball Room with stage and 6 sides rooms to explore. When your tour is done you can go into the Ed Berners' Ice Cream parlor and have some ice cream and sundaes.

I've walked through the Washington House many times and I discover something new every time. It's just full of random interesting-ness. To top it off, they have an ice cream parlor! A fun stop if you are in Two Rivers.

We stopped in here out of curiosity & I'm glad we did! The museum is staffed with very friendly volunteers who are eager to share their knowledge. We learned a lot on our tour and enjoyed the ice cream offered for a very reasonable price before we left.

The bar experience was great but the dining experience was even better! The food and sevice was wonderful.

The period displays above old Tavern are neat, accessible behind stage in upstairs theatre.More icecream flavors/sugar free is desirable!

Interesting, well curated, much enjoyed - we had planned on visiting the Hamilton Wood Type Museum but it was closed so visited here instead. Glad we did!

I wish there were more places like this, staffed completely by volunteers who are so friendly, great ice cream shop, the museum has a lot of neat things, and it is free!! I have two kids 8 and 11 and they loved this place!! Thank you Two Rivers for this gem!!

This is just a very interesting place! Go have some ice cream and then explore the collection of things in the musuem. The Washington House is staffed by volunteers,We met just a delightful lady who took the time to sit down with us and talk aboutthe town and the "old days". It was a great experience for myself and my children. Admission is free, donations are excepted.

Neat self-guided tour of old jail. Good if in the area, but not as a special destination. The volunteer was very nice and helpful.

The fantastic Ice Cream parlor gets even better when rhubarb is available. Charleton Heston's wife is from this town, there's a display for them among the rooms. A dancehall above has a muraled ceiling, accessable by stair chair, behind the stage, find many historically displayed rooms, volunteers provide for excellent operating hours.

Like a mini Milwaukee museum .. well no stuffed animals. Fun room of toys, great doll house. Upstairs an old hotel room, dentist office, barber, Dr. office from the olden days. Volunteers run an ice cream parlor that is fun and inexpensive.

There were a lot of very interesting items in this museum. There was a soda fountain where the first ice cream sundae was served and a really great old, original bar and bar back. Good museum for a town of 11,000.

I was kind of expecting more from the brochure at out hotel, so when I walked in and say artifacts that looked like they could have been purchased from anywhere, I wasn't very impressed. The ice cream flavors did look good though!
