Take the tour. It is amazing. You can even leave a prayer request for the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. So beautiful.

I shouldn't necessarily be reviewing the actual sight. Instead I'd just like to comment on the indifference of the person who did not let us in. We went to visitor entrance minutes after 3:00 on a Saturday. A voice on the intercom immediately asked us what we wanted. At the same time I noted that a sign indicated that tours ended at 3:00 and we were not allowed admitance. The fact that someone was there monitoring the door, you would have thought someone could have at least showed us the chapel. I'm not sure why you couldn't just visit the chapel anyway. A sight like this should be open to all, not just those looking for a tour. Last fall we went to the Our Lady of Guadelupe shrine and were there at closing. The brother there was much more accomodating, keeping the church open for as long as we needed.

This is a special place in St. Rose Convent. 132 years of around the clock praying. Worth seeing and being part of the prayer.

You do not have to be Catholic to appreciate this amazing structure in the heartland of America. Built with loving care by Bavarian craftsman over 100 years ago, it is a striking example of the devotion the nuns have for the Lord. They have maintained it beautifully and are happy to give you a tour. It is a site of great peace and reverence set on the Viterbo University campus. We take all visitors there if at all possible.

I live in La Crosse and have participated in a couple tours of this beautiful church with guests. We had a personally guided tour by one of the sisters which was very informative. This church has such a wonderful history and the sisters pray there around the clock. My family has also attended Sunday Mass many times over the years at Mary of the Angels Chapel (also refered to as St. Rose locally). The music is always beautiful. Concerts have also been held in this church as the acoustics are wonderful. This is a very special place...I encourage a visit as the sisters make all feel welcome.

very informtaive, intersting tour led by one of the sisters who lives there. She offered many details about the history of the building, the products used to build it, the trademen who worked there and more. I'm not Catholic so you may get more out of the tour is you are.
