I spent yesterday afternoon at Medaloni's with friends and had a fabulous experience! Both Haley and Lauren, presenting the tastings, were extremely knowledgable and friendly. The tasty wine and beautiful setting were excellent and I will highly recommend it to my friends. Definitely my favorite NC winery!!

Medaloni Cellars is conveniently located about 2 miles off of Highway 421 in Lewisville, NC. The setting is very scenic. The tasting room is attractive with natural wood walls and a high ceiling for a rustic look. It can be partially opened to an outdoor patio. However, our group of four found it to be lacking in personality and customer service. Medaloni has a much more commercial feel than we prefer. It was a busy Saturday, but no more so than other wineries on the same day, and perhaps not as much so. We were not greeted, or even acknowledged in any small way, upon entering the tasting room. There are two options for tasting: five wines with no glass ($7.50) or eight wines with glass ($11), which is a little more pricey than other tastings we've experienced (usually $6 - $8 for 6 - 10 wines and glass). The employee who conducted our tasting required us to all select the same tasting option. We found this to be a little limiting as well as the set wine selection for the partial tasting. We selected the five-wine tasting and prefer the individuality of choosing our own wines on a partial tasting. We did not receive an individual wine list with descriptions on which to make notes (automatic black mark) as they only had a few laminated copies on the bar. A paper wine list would also facilitate partial tastings of choice. I pulled out a small notebook, but it was difficult to get down a detailed description and still maintain the flow of the tasting.Even though the tasting format was not our preference, some of there wines were well done, particularly the Merlot. However, this was overshadowed by the poor customer service. The employee left us for extended periods of time while she helped and chatted with customers. Again, we understand a busy situation, but there was a second employee at the tasting counter who was stocking glasses. Customers should never be ignored to handle clean up duties.Winery visits and tastings are a frequent activity for us, but we will not remember this as one as anything special.

Spent a Sunday afternoon tasting really nice wines in a beautiful setting. Everyone was so friendly. We especially enjoyed the reds: Entourage, Harmony and zinfandel. Looks like a lovely setting for special occasions too. Great job Medaloni!

We love going to Medaloni Cellars and Vinyards. It is part of the Yadkin Valley Wine Country. The owners are the best and the wine is the BEST. The setting is made for enjoying a glass or two of their wine and for other special events, if interested.I understand they have a great festival type event in October. Make sure you add Medaloni to your tour list and you may not leave.......oh so good!AND they also have beautiful cabins for rent......what could be better? Enjoy.

The wines were ok, the building different but cool and interesting. However, the staff was almost snotty and clearly only interested interacting with one another. During our "wine tasting" we spent the majority of our time looking at our hostess's rear end as she was turned around 80% of the time scarfing down what appeared to be something from Chipotle. It was almost as if we were a bother. After our tasting we bought a bottle to drink by the fireplace. Our hostess went outside and joined what appeared to be a group of friends/coworkers/regular guests (?) to drink, laugh and socialize. She sat there until a car with a hired driver pulled up and she jumped up, ran and slipped in a side door and was transformed into an employee/hostess again, absolutely falling over herself to make THIS couple feel welcome. We later heard her say she thought it was the parents or some relative of the owner. It was almost comical but very unprofessional. We had a bit of a laugh and left. We were underwhelmed.

My wife and I have enjoyed visiting many of North Carolina's many vinyards. With that said, we were very disappointed with Medaoni Cellars. If not for the beautiful surroundings, the day would have been a complete waste of time. The wine was average at best and server acted like they could care less.

The lady serving the wine was fantastic, but the wine was a little expensive. In a few more years I believe the taste if these wines might improve greatly and smooth out.

As a Yadkin Valley resident with an extensive familiarity w/the area vineyards, I follow most through social media and newsletter emails, and know most of the owners personally. I was somewhat taken aback when, after a posting on Facebook this vineyard said, "Open until 8pm. Come by for a glass." However, when we promptly arrived at 7pm to enjoy an after-dinner glass of wine, we were informed by the attendant from around the corner of the bldng that they were closed. What?? "But we just read you were open until 8pm...?" What?? Another attendant came out from the locked door and said, "You guys can come in if you want." However, we declined as the half-hearted invite from behind the locked door seemed less than genuine. My advice, Medaloni, work on the hospitality aspect and overall communication with your staff if you want to fully realize your potential.

We went with friends for a private tasting and tour with Joey being our host/guide. This was pretty cool to learn about the wines and to taste wines that they don't have at the bar. We got to tour the property and see all the cabins. We will be back in September for the stomping party. Cabernet was our favorite and the Chardonnay was surprisingly good as I'm not a white wine fan.

We visited Medaloni this weekend and loved it! The atmosphere is fabulous with a beautiful view and inviting tasting bar. We saw there were trails on the property along with nice cabins for an overnight stay. It was Sunday so the food truck was cooking up some tasty bites which is also a bonus since most wineries don't have made to order food. The wine was very impressive and we enjoyed all the wines we tasted; Joe is definitely a talented winemaker.

My daughter, son in law, mother and husband spent a few hours here on Mother's day. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The tasting bar is beautiful. I love the inside and outside with adorondick chairs and fire pits. The wine is very very good!!
