We like to think the Horseshoe is a magical place, where nature and people gently coexist. Esp on the Horseshoe, you can see the McKissick Museum, which houses wonderful exhibits, and harkens back to a very earlier time. The Caroliniana Library is being renovated, but is a gorgeous repository for famous papers, books and the History of SC (don't know when done), and isat the opposite end of the horseshoe. The newest Business Building is a big break from other traditional buildings, but well worth seeing, about 3 blocks from Horseshoe. This is a lovely campus, and in Spring the flowers are dazzling - redbuds, magnolias, dogwood, and other flowering beauties. Plenty of eating places on campus, and just off campus, 1/2 mile, the VISTA is packed with great eateries, shoppping and unique stores. Also an area populated by artists.

I loved my time at USC. The campus is beautiful and historic. I love the way the campus is centered in downtown Columbia close to restaurants and other venues. The idea of having a solid, public university in the State of South Carolina is great. The school goes back to 1801 and has been working hard to educate students since.

due to the short amount of time we had in town we had to choose only a few things the u of sc is quite large and spread out and right next to the state capital the older part is quite picturesque with lots of trees coming into bloom and definitely a large part of the population would like to come back and do a more thorough search

Its a university campus dating to 1801. Mixture of pre Civil War and modern architecture. Some interesting building: Colleges located around the old "Horseshoe", The Moore School of Business, the Strom Thurmond Center, Bryce Williams football stadium, Longstreet Theater. Cooper and Caroliana Libraries.

I like all of the events that are open to the public even the book review events. McCutcheon House on campus is the restaurant connected with the School of Hospitality and serves great food at lunch Monday thru Friday. I suggest reservations.

It's a university. Located down in the heart of downtown, next to t he capital. Great visit for college kids

Even though it was under some constructtion, it was well worth my fiancé seeing his 1st time ever, College Football Team home...Awesome....nice place to visit very conveniently located...can see the stadium in the skyline at night

Great place to go to College. Nothing like it! Great school and the sports rock! Such a wide variety of majors. I would highly recommend this College for anyone that wants to experience the best of everything that this school has to offer!

Not sure why this school is so underrated.......It has a beautiful campus and offers so much for the students. The business school is going to continue to get national rankings as they make great progress. Football is awesome in the fall, but it is just a part of this college experience.

But bring your walkers. This place has some hills to climb! I have been to this University many times. It really would be a great place for your kids to go to college.

Daughter graduated from USC a couple of years ago and while she was there we got in a habit of attending USC baseball. Their new stadium (so to speak) is modern and easy to attend. Good access for those with a physical challenge. Fun baseball food available. We look forward to attending a basketball game later this season.

The University of South Carolina's main campus in Columbia is beautiful. Start in The Horseshoe and you can wind your way through campus and explore the old buildings and the hidden gardens. Very good way to spend an hour!

Beautiful grounds with massive green areas great for bringing your own picnic and even a football to throw around at the "Horseshoe". Really nice library and bookstores. I say WHO KNEW because I have always been a Clemson girl as is my husband who graduated from there. But, our son ended up at USC as Clemson did not have his major and we were SHOCKED to find out just how great USC is. Our son really likes his professors and there are a lot of options for food, campus life, etc.

My son goes to school here. At first I was disappointed he chose USC because I went to another South Carolina school (no, not Clemson). I was pleasantly surprised to see how much USC has to offer in terms of a variety of experiences and depth of education. In the end, I am glad to know how much of a GREAT education he has received for the money. He is looking forward to attending grad school, and USC has prepared him well. USC has a huge, beautiful campus and an impressive football stadium to visit. I have no regrets sending him to USC.

Liked: Lots to see and do. It has a museum on the campus. If you like college football, come here and see a game. We had a great game day experience. The stadium is huge, but a sight to see.
