If you can drop $100 on a round of golf this is a great place to do it. Very pretty area three miles north of Bismarck. It is a great challenge.

The course itself is very nice, but does need more signage. As for the staff and maintenance people, it was the worst service imaginable. They hadn't updated their web page and had old prices, which we were told included carts. Surprise, we were charged an extra $20 for carts! We ran into two issues on the course where we had inter-action with maintenance workers, and were treated rudely. One guy had his work cart parked right in front of the green on a par 3 and just kept watering the green. When we finished we brought it up to him and he rudely said it was the only place he had access to the water line. After our round we brought our concerns to the course pro and he couldn't have cared less. He backtracked when we brought up the price issue and said the web page must not have been current. No offer to make things right. Overpriced at $100 with cart fees. We canceled our afternoon replay and played a wonderful muni in town.

We enjoyed playing here and it is very reminiscent of a links course in Scotland. We were, however, disappointed with the skimpy and confusing signage. It is too easy to take a wrong turn from a green to the next tee. Given the cost of playing here and the course's high quality, they could have much better signage and yardage markers.

I have heard a great deal about Hawktree but never had a chance to play it. I had my chance on a recent trip to Bismarck. It it an absolutely beautiful course. Well maintained and challenging. Great place to golf

If you like a good challange on one of the newest course in the area this is where you want to go hit a few balls and have a blast...bring a jacket as the wind does not stop blowing on this course....great layout

Beautiful Course in the Missouri River hills. Well maintained and a high degree of difficulty, depending on which tees one uses.

We played this course during a cross country trip. We had just played Pumpkin Ridge in Portland, Oregon and Coeur d'Alane Resort in Coeur d'Alane, Idaho. The experience at Hawktree was just as good and quite a bit cheaper! The staff was friendly and took care to see that we were taken care off. The course offered an outstanding layout and was in great shape. It was my first experience with black sand in bunkers! I highly recommend a round here to anyone passing through Bismarck.

Love the sand traps, I think I visited most of them:)

Played this course a couple of years ago, staff in the pro shop was terrible one was the managers son. I had booked to play 18 holes and reconfirmed my tee time a couple of days ahead and when I got there they had started aerating the front nine, but hadn't told me when I had booked, and when I said I would have played somewhere else, they told me that I should consider myself lucky to be playing one of the top rated courses in nation for $26.00 for nine holes. Won't ever go back

I played this course on a Monday after a tornado warning and a torrential rain. I didn't know what to expect after the rains, being as part of the highway up was closed due to water. On the first hole there was a bit of standing water but that was the only spot on the course with any issues. I loved the black bunkers; it gives you a different feel. Windmills give the views a nice farm touch.Hawktree has some of the nicest par 3's I've played, plus the clubhouse is one of the nicest I have been in.They do have a lack of restrooms on the course. I think there were only two, one on each side, which can cause problems. I look forward to playing this course next summer when I am back visiting.

We travelled to play this course thinking it would be great to play, it was ok but the price was huge and then they charge you for the carts on top of that. you could not walk this course in the summer as you are in a desert like area where it is very hot and very hilly.we thought the course was playable and well maintained, but did some fairway cutting .the clubhouse was huge and beautiful but no one there. There were very few people golfing the course and you could not find too many bathrooms around the course.I don't think I would play this course again or recommend it very highly to my fellow golfers.

Got to play 9 holes ahead of a big tournament and it was a great experience. Carts have GPS, which is very helpful and the course layout is exceptional with prairie grass lining the second layer of rough (I lost a few balls). It was an enjoyable for me (10-15 handicapper) and my wife (20-25 handicapper). Very well kept fairways and greens, with some very beautiful views from many tees and overlooks. Will be stopping for a full 18 holes everytime I pass through Bismarck from now on!
