Overall, very nice park with many amenities etc. This place definitely had 5 star potential.... BUT....We stayed in loop G on Labor Day weekend in the 280's.The park has a 1 vehicle per site rule, yet this is not even remotely enforced and the entire loop looked like a car lot. Not only were folks parking on grass to side of road, but we observed people driving their trucks right into the sites themselves.Despite this, site 278 was gorgeous and once there, we could hide. The bathrooms on the loop are relatively new, however, either I have very high standards compared to others or this was spot on filthy.Even after the so called cleaners left, it was filthy. If you choose to shower here, wear good water shoes. Trust me.As for the shower.... It is wonderful that you are allowed to control the temp, however, get ready for a sandblasting as the shower head makes me think of Kramer on Seinfeld getting blasted from his shower stall.Trails are nice and well marked for hiking, mtn biking etc.Maintenance of the park overall is going downhill and fast.Still worth a visit as it is still nicer than most, but let's be honest here, it could be sooo much better.

I will admit, I was not excited to come here base on previous reviews and the fact that the lake was filled with algae so we couldn't swim. What else was there to do with 4 kids under age 10? We had a great time. Our lot was right next to the playground, and was easy to back our trailer in to. Lots of trees and small loops that were paved. We caught more fish than we ever have! Great hikes perfect for little ones (youngest is 5). Friendly staff and sufficient restrooms. I would go back with the family. If we could have swam in the lake I would give it a 5!

We camped here for 3 nights. The campground has a lot of sites but was rather empty while we were there. Every campsite has an asphalt driveway. Our site was nice with some trees along the edges. The bathrooms were typical for a campground - not overly clean but not filthy. Bring your bikes. It is easy to ride the camp loops. There is also a bike trail to the lake (down hill going so save your energy). EVERYONE waves...it amused us while riding bikes. So friendly! The beach was closed due to some algae but that didn't matter to us as we are not ones to swim.

Shame on Ohio. This used to be a awesome beach with nice facilities. No more. Get's worse yearly.. Not keeping it maintained and lack of consistency of snack bar is making this beach a place you prefer not to visit. Tough it used to be beautiful.

Have been fishing in the waters since 2009. Have been tubing in it since 2011. Deep waters, plus 90 feet in some places. Have been tubing and knee boarding many times without problems. A lot of boats in a small area compared to Larger lakes such as Norris or Cumberland. Water is usually unclear, but clean for the most part. Algae sets in late summer making water unclean but clears up again early fall. Ramps are in good shape, a lot of them reconstructed by the corps to accept 4 boats at once. Grounds are okay, not as nice Rocky Fork. Don't know anything about camping there. Walking trails are nice and wooded. Wildlife abundant. Bathrooms could use a little help. Docks are long but low. Law enforcement is common on waters. Make sure your stickers are up to date! Have caught many fish there. Boats have a swimming area as well as beaches for non-boaters. No horsepower restrictions. Can launch and ride without constantly monitoring depth finder. Two idle speed areas separate lake making long cruising impossible. Multiple coves for swimming/fishing.

Super clean and friendly place. Safe for kids to bicycle . Beach area is run down and neglected. They don't offer boat rental. The only thing you can do is play putt putt but it's in direct sunlight, there is shade nowhere there or at the kid's park.

Very nice lake for boating, fishing or swimming. Pretty large and nice scenery abound. They have a beach there as well for the more laid back or littler ones to enjoy.

Clean bathrooms, private sites. I wish we had had more time to explore, but we'll head back that way someday, and will be sure to stop by.

I never could understand why people would complain about going to A state Park campground. I think this place rocks. My friends and I make a pilgrimage to this place at least once a year. We stay up late and drink a few beers and listen to music and all is good. We are college educated and know how to have a good time. This is one of our favorite camping destinations that's not primitive. So people get off the complain train and enjoy life for a little while you might actually have some fun!!!!

We went camping August 2013 and had a good time. The sites were decent sizes, the bathrooms were very clean for a campground, and the beach was close by. Streets are paced which is nice for riding bikes, and there was some other stuff to do as well.

Enjoyed staying at East Fork State Park on a camping trip with family. The camping spots were fairly close together, but the beautiful spots kept it feeling spacious. Lots of bunnies and a deer which delighted our daughter. Almost every loop of campsites had it's own bathrooms and showers. All cleaned daily during our visit. For the GPS, the address online (3294 Elklick Rd, Bethel, OH 45106, United States) IS NOT the one to use... try this one to get to the campground: 2837 Old State Route 32, Batavia, Ohio, 45103.

My boys, dog and I regularly hit the mountain biking trails at this Ohio State Park. There are three courses to choose from. The beginner is easy and relatively flat. The intermediate is fun with a few challenging hills. The techincal is kinda dificult and hard to get into a rythem when cycling but is challenging and very fun at times. Trails are relatively maintained. I really like the mountain biking there but have not done too much else there. I found the swimming area a little limited.
