Well worth a visit to see part of Australian and Rockhampton history. The best time to visit is market day. Costs $2 to enter the markets and as a bonus you get to see the village as well. On our visits everything was open and operating. Rides in vintage vehicles and a horse drawn cart, plus printing presses and old gas driven engines. A great way to spend a morning and good value.

Often i have driven striaght past on my travels and this time we stopped for a break and a look. There is a fee to enter and you pay for kids over 3 so spend a bit of time there looking around. They have a lovely little cafe in the middle. Farm animals, we had ponies roaming around. Also got a lift around in one of the vintage cars. The best looking turkey you have ever seen and the strangest looking duck. We spent maybe around two hours here going through the old cottages and taking photos of history. It wasnt crowed with people, I enjoyed it and so did my four year old.

I took my students, ranging from Prep to Year 7, while on school camp and every child loved it. So did the adults. The staff went out of their way to give my students a wonderful day. Among other things we experienced, we rode the vintage vehicles, played on the fire trucks, visited the timber cutters' camp and the hospital, and experienced school from days gone by with a truly authentic and talented school ma'am. The "teacher" was brilliant and we had a ball while being severely "reprimanded". All staff are voluntary and the whole place is immaculately clean and well kept. I highly recommend it for a great day out but also to support these people in their dedicated efforts to keep our unique history alive.

Staying with a friend in Rockhampton last week, we visited this amazing collection of history. It is a quality museum/heritage village with so much to see. I was fascinated by the old house where the lady had lived until 2009 I think, without electricity! Amazing to imagine how her life was!! The doll exhibition was massive, and was amused by the collection of salt and pepper shakers. I loved the ride in the vintage car and the great customer service by volunteers and staff. Will have to visit again one day. Well done all. Shame you don't have your own website - would love to learn more about the Village.

Was a very nice place to end our day out, Was so good to see all the old vintage cars and old armed vehicles being restored, having a look at the old buildings, I think this day `n` age we would not manage that stile of housing etc. How thing have changed from that time to now...

We went here on a Sunday when the markets were on. The whole place is clean, well laid out and very interesting. It is worth a look even when the markets aren't on.

We went here to fill in time but was far better than expected. It is a huge area with plenty of old buildings that have been done up.I had my mobility scooter and most of the area was accessible for me.It was beautiful weather wise and it made it so easy to get around.Unfortunately the cafe was closed the day we were there as there was no one to open and run it as it is run by volunteers, surely the local council could employ some one to do this as it is a great spot to stop for a cuppa. There were different birds running around and a donkey,I would imagine kids would receive a great deal of pleasure checking this place out.It is great to be able to look at the way things were back in time. You can buy water and ice creams at the front entrance.

Was nice to walk around and see how the old buildings looked and worked. Setting for picnic really good and volunteer staff very very helpful. Hospital building especially good.

The heritage village is situated just outside of Rockhampton. You can visit the hut with its backyard laundry and chooks running free. You can take a coach ride around the village or visit the old school sit in class with its wooden desks and slates. Take a look at the hospital and dental facilities of that era. There are old machinery and farming vehicles around and even a ride on a camel or a horse. Of course there a plenty of stalls and an eating area for burgers, etc and tea/coffee and scones.

We went here with our 2 year old and spent over 4 hours here. We all loved it and are going back again with our other children. There is eftpos in main entrance however no eftpos in the shop where you can purchase food so maybe just keep some cash on you for that. Very nice and tiny, clean and hygienic.

Had an excellent time at this attraction. Was not expensive and easily accessible to all the buildings.Liked the way cottages were displayed with old world charm and the Devonshire tea at the tea house was excellent and only cost $6.00.Especially liked the old vintage cars and the Schoolhouse and Hospital.Watch out for the donkey although cute I believe can pack a good wallop.

We have not long moved to Rockhampton so we thought we would head to the historical village for a little look & it was absolutely wonderful being able to get a glimpse into what life was like many years ago! The staff were very friendly and welcoming :-) and all the artefacts that were throughout the village were amazing! Loved every minute of it.... I also loved the 2 birds at the front and the freely roaming animals! Enjoy.

Try to see this attraction on one of the full working days. Volunteers dress in period costume and working machinery is on display. Watch the blacksmith shaping steel and the farrier fitting horseshoes. You can take ride on horse and cart or browse dozens of market stalls. A great day out.

A slice of history in the city. Excellent restoration and a century of historical buildings and equipment. For just $10 pp it is a must see in Rocky.

A travel back in time, to the good old days, watching black smithing, having a turn a milking a cow, walking through shack how they used to live. And the old school house and hospital, they had it tough..... Best to go when all attractions are open, we went for Australia Day, and people walking around in costume, pony and horse drawn carriage rides. It was excellent for the price. Food is available, or take your own picnic. A wonderful way to show the young generation how things were.
