值得看看,这是很难得的经历,因为一般很难看到地震后的景象,但修复这么慢也让人难过,本该是座美丽的花园城市。我们对集装箱市场比较有兴趣,新西兰人的创造性体现得淋漓尽致。

It was distressing to see the after affects as it is not the City I Knew - Progress in rebuilding is extremely slow. The new Cathedral was the main highlight of my tour around the city plus a bus trip out to Summer ..

The only part of the City worth visiting is Cashel Street with the container shops. Ballanytnes is a lovely shop, also has entrance on Cashel Street. Also the cardboard Cathedral is unusual and worth a look, other than that there is nothing. We counted 7 cranes in the City and only 1 was working - 24/7 would be good to get the City moving.

Disappointed with Christchurch as little to see due to earthquake and so little progress visible. Some old buildings are to be saved but are still in a poor condition awaiting renovation. The city seemed to be one big building site such a shame.

The attraction is funded by the city council and gives a harrowing insight to the devastation caused by the earthquakes. Video footage of the quake and personal first hand accounts of the disaster relate the terror of those involved.

It was interesting to roam around but even the destruction that remains is enough to make one introspective and humbled. I am very glad we went. The white chairs ripped my heart out.

If you visit Christchurch try to fit in a visit to this place. It was very informative about all the aspects of the earthquake but I dare you not to be moved by the film of the personal experiences of that day by some of the citizens of the city. We were fitting in a spare hour but I'm so glad we went.

We thought this would be interesting but it was more than that. An emotional and human side to the quake. Listening to people's experience on the day was moving. Seeing the 'before and after' really gives you a reality check on your surroundings. Seeing the new technology in rebuilding makes you aware of the time process and construction involved which will take many years to complete. We came out and walked the streets and areas of significance. Visit the 185 emptychairs and look just around. Cross the road to the CTV ground where 115 people lost their lives. Never forget them. This is a must do if visiting Christchurch.

A must do, if only to understand why the February 2011 earthquake caused so much damage to Christchurch. Some of the personal accounts are particularly moving.

I would have liked longer here but schedule did not allow for it. The video interviews with those affected by the 2011 earthquake was very moving.

It was great to see how the earthquakes impacted on land and roads. I enjoyed hearing the first hand accounts, seeing what liquefaction is and how it came up. Best of all I liked seeing the drone that was used to explore the cathedral checking for damage.

Restart mall and Quake City are parts of the effort of a willfull people trying to put their lives together after the devastating earthquake which ruptured Christchurch. Shops, bars and restos, banks, some situated in containers are a fine example of human spirit. Worth a visit.

Interesting to get some insights on Christchurch history and how the city have been affected of the earthquakes that have hit the city during the years. Nice and friendly staff and kids are free.

The initial video presentation was a little strange but the displays and other videos were very well done and extremely informative. A huge amount of well presented information together with some very moving video footage of people caught in the middle of the latest quake. Stunning piece of embroidery by one of the contributors on this video, even incorporating the bandaging from her broken arm. Do visit this centre, it puts everything into perspective and left me full of admiration for the people of Christchurch.

The re-building is happening at last although there are still many shipping container shops. Very sad to see the Cathedral and hope it will be re-built as it is the city, the city is the cathedral.
