These great variety of trail in length and difficulty give something for every age and experience level. My three year old can walk the shortest trail. It is mostly for a leisurely walk but goes through woods, lookouts, lakes, bridges. Just beautiful in the fall when all the trees change colours. Avoid summer, june and beginning july, because the moskitoes will eat you alive. Picnic tables overlooking the water make a nice quiet place for a picnic!

Great for those who are fit and agile. Lots of wildlife around and some rarities to observe. Not great for families with toddlers or folks who are unsteady. very little disabled access

I had lived in Sudbury for most of my life and didn't discover this gem of a trail until a few years ago. Even though I do not live there anymore, I would consider going back when I visit. Grab your hiking boots, a little bug spray (just in case) a bottle of water and the kids because this is a wonderful nature walk. It's only as exerting as you allow it and there's much to see no matter what time of the year. It begins where you park your car. There are port-a-potties available and shack with a few pic-nick tables which sells a few things that you could need for the trip, water, pop, and a few snacks. (seasonal) There is also a small lake located there where we saw a few beavers (and their dams). I went once in the winter and saw a white rabbit and a fox. Also, if you walk far enough you will see where some kind people have been spraying the snow covered ground with birdseed to keep our lovely little chickadees in good health-Some will even eat right out of your hand and there are many of them. If you happen to go in the fall you will not be disappointed. Grab your sweetie, for you will be treated with wonderful tones and hues from blazing reds, sunny yellows to pumpkin orange that only northern Ontario can offer. It is a truly romantic walk :)

We walk here almost daily. Many trails to choose from year-round, many with nice views and some with nice rocks to swim from in the summer. No city in the world has such accessible natural beauty so close to town.

As a young man this trail was a summer work job. Now l get to enjoy the trail. Scenery, water, bridge's wild life like so many types of birds. Well groomed trail easy to walk takes about a hour one way.

This is a beautiful area with paths through the bush and around the lake. You are able to observe nature of all types but be sure to wear your running shoes. It is not an area for you if you have difficulty walking up hills, around rocks or over rocks.

I really like hiking at Lake Laurentian. There are no swimming areas so don't go if you are looking to swim. Beautiful for fall hikes with the dogs!

I often bring my kids for free events. They love to swim here and play in the stream in spring. The trails are awesome and there are even a few geocaches to find.

It's a beautiful place for a walk and there's a bike/ski trail too (depending on the season) when you go straight up the road and not enter the main gate to the chalet. It's quiet and serene. The trails are just the right kind of challenge. Make sure to wear your trail shoes. We always go here whenever we're in Sudbury.
