We found it to be a beautiful and relaxing place, you get a truly tranquil feeling sitting in the monastery. Only thing is we wished we had arrived a lot earlier in the day to attend mass and have lunch. Would of loved to have spend the day there.

This is my 2nd time and still really beautiful especially the grounds and the scenic background of the Church. Try spending an overnight and have breakfast with the monks.

Make sure to walk from the highway to the monastery and take a shortcut through a rice field to get there. It's a perfect spot, no outside noise and the natural beauty is impeccable. You can still appreciate the beauty even if you are not Catholic. Great architecture, too!

Went to check out their new church and was stopped by the guards. All us were wearing shorts and it was against the beliefs of the monks. The guards had lent us some clothes to cover our shorts. We men looked a bit sassy thanks to it. The church was solemn and magnificent. One could meditate and contemplate on things. The view also from the top was splendid. They also have a small gift shoppe where one could get some religious items to take home. They also have food from some of the local produce of Bukidnon. One of their best sellers is the Monk's Blend which smells really good. Just don't get those chocolate rum balls, the rum was pretty strong on that one.

From Agora Terminal in CDO, ride a Rural Bus Tours bound for Davao and ask the conductor to drop you off at Malaybalay Centro (Bus Stop). Hire a Motorella (P200) that will take you to San Jose Hill where the Monastery is located. I visited this place with my parents and found the place really special. When you look at the blue skies and the back drop of mountains and lush greeneries, you will really fall in love with the place. Add to that the unique architecture of the Monastery designed by the late national artist Leandro Locsin.Go here for pictorials and savor the peaceful silence where you hear nothing but nature (wind blow, leaves, birds). Sit inside the chapel, pray, and thank God for the blessings you have received. Masses: 5am everydayCommunity Prayer: 11:30am everyday. You must also try their coffee. Likewise, if you are coming here wearing shorts, the guard will give you "malong" that you should wear to cover your shorts. Its a great place to start exploring Malaybalay, Bukidnon. :)

The monastery is about 5kms away from Malaybalay, the capital city of Bukidnon. Went there to buy coffee. The staff and the security guards are really friend. Can't say much about the place from a "spiritual" perspective, but I definitely recommend Monk's Blend Coffee. They grown their own beans right outside the monastery (check out the photo, courtesy of my travel bud Chy). If you just wanna "get away from it all," this is the place to be. Don't forget to drop by their gift shop for treats. Cheers!http://cebu-outdoor-guy.blogspot.com/

I was so overwhelmed, I literally wept. There's something about the Benedictines. Upon entering the chapel, I was swept with nostalgia as I felt my whole being being taken back to my college days in the St. Scho chapel - the feel, the smell, the quiet are all reminiscent of my life at St. Scho and Subiaco.

The place is very quiet, nice climate, very clean and calm. Good for family spiritual bonding. You need to have a private car to go to this place because it is a bit far from the main highway or else you can hire a tricycle to bring you in and out.

It's one of the most relaxing, comforting spiritual places I've been to. It's so quiet that you can't help but hear your own thoughts as you pray. It's quite a striking structure shaped like a pyramid. inside the simple seat arrangement and the hanging cross adds mystique to the place. It's a place of God so there are restrictions when it comes to clothes. No shorts, no sleeveless shirts. Otherwise, you will be required to wear a sarong. There's a sign along the highway but the actual church and monastery are stil a few hundreds meters inside the complex.

I was there last September and it is a beautiful place.. the views are amazing! But other than that not a lot to do! There's also a nice little gift shop to pick up some cool stuff! But most of all some of the best pics from my last visit come from this spot! My fiancée and I will be going back in a couple months! I suggest stop by and see the mountains! Its beautiful!

It's a great place to reflect because it has a good view of the mountains and the architecture is beautiful. However, other than reflecting and praying... there's nothing else to do. Well, take pictures.Fun fact: you could actually go up to touch the mother and son statue. Just look for the stairs behind the altar area.So yeah. Really nothing else to do except pray and reflect. You could hear the birds and it's soothing. But pass by the gift shop! (the only reason I went) and buy some Monk's coffee. I have yet to try it (it's my pasalubong) but everyone was all raves about it so I had to try!PS: I heard, but never experienced, that every 2nd sunday of the month, the monks set up a breakfast and eat with whom ever wants to join them. too bad I visited on the 4th sunday!
