No better place to find local art souvenirs. Love that it is recycled and being reused....that much less ending up at the landfill or the beach! Everything is beautiful and different, and a fun store to stop in!

A lot of great art pieces as well as crafts and souvenirs. So good they are recycling and making use of things that would otherwise fill the dump!

A local friend put this on the short list of places I should visit. I was not as impressed by their art as she, though she has amazing taste. Saw about three pieces I liked. But it's definitely a cut above in quality, display, space and ambience, and definitely worth visiting. I bought change purses made from some kind of nut that I'd never seen before, and would have liked to have bought an unusual wooden violin sculpture if I had a place to put it!

I loved shopping here as they have an eclectic mix of hand made art from recycled materials. By purchasing this locally made artwork you are providing an income and putting food on the table for local families. Its a win win situation as I buy gifts for my friends back home! Awesome!

Awesome recycled art - very unique items. If you're looking for a gift for yourself or someone else you may find it here. Went in the store several times during our stay and always seen something new.

There were a number of shops with imported art, but this place was filled with handmade treasures. The small shop has a number of items of varying sizes and prices to find something special for friends or family that didn't have the pleasure of visiting Roatan. After visiting the shop you will notice pieces in other restaurants and shops like the "Friendly Shark." If you want something to bring home, this is the place to go.

This is a great store with some very creative folks. They have something for everyone from big pieces of wall art to cute little things to take home as gifts for friends and family.

Native art, if the natives only have old license plates and oil drums to work with. I saw two or three of these stores and they all had the same items. Primitive metal paintings of stingrays, and fish and octopi and such. I think the proceeds might be for a good local cause. Very nice and very friendly people

I LOVE this place. We went back 3 times just to look around. I found something new each time I went. I love the concept behind this store and the artwork they produce. It's a must visit place while you are in Roatan.

The owner, Adam Hunt, took a great idea and ran with it. He has made it fashionable to have "cool" junk. An English-born artist, Adam, began working with different materials, like oil drums and cans and then cutting, shaping and painting them. From there, he began to teach the locals how to make the items. When you visit his store near Sandy Bay in Alba Plaza, you can see that he is extremely creative. He has even expanded to items that are made from wood cut-offs and now he is even taking some time to paint artwork. Though there is a workshop immediately adjacent to the store in Alba Plaza, he also has a larger workshop a short distance away. He has made very large decorative aquatic life wall pieces for visitors and island expatriates, like dolphins and sharks (one is even painted in honor of lawyers). He is probably best known for the magnets, which include dolphins, shrimp, conch, hammerhead sharks, sea horses, turtles and more. Not only do those make great souvenir gifts, but check-out the Christmas aquatic life magnets or ornaments with the Santa hats. Those would look great hanging from any tree.

it's good to see the work they do there, some good Art work done right in Roatan, from old metal pars, sea class, and some nice wood work

A truly awesome hand-made items that really remind me of a great trip. We nearly bought the whole shop.

I LOVED the recycled metal products and beautiful jewelry. They have 3 locations... Mahogany Bay Cruise Shopping Mall in the crafts area, West End at Bananarama, and Alba Plaza... well worth the visit to all... Unique items in each place... beautiful crafting.

What a pleasure to find the Rusty Fish and to meet Adam, the artist/owner. As others have noted...go to Waves of Art but then go to the actual Rusty Fish shop on the main road outside Sandy beach. The artwork is so whimsical that you can't help but smile when you stare down a playful lionfish or a big blue shark with a toothy grin. Great, original pieces that will make great gifts. More important, the atmposhere in the shop is unique. The employees, all locals, are smiling, helpful, and interact like family. You can tell they love their work, love Adam, and love the good things they're doing for the Island. This is TRUE mission work - being a good steward of the environment and creating a workplace with positive ethics for dozens of poor citizens. You can count on our business each time we visit the island! Folks back home LOVE these environmentally and socially responsible souveigners.
