The #1 rating review below is amazingly inaccurate. I live in Ridgway and know the Weavers. You couldn't ask for better neighbors. They've supported the town with their time and money in too many ways to count. The land they own has suffered from the recession but is now thriving again and is incredibly beautiful. The views are heart-stopping, and they are on 3-acre (not 30-acre) lots. Gerry Weaver's house has no snakes or any other objectionable creatures! It was a daring earth ship and is mentioned in many historical accounts of such homes. Gerry is selling it because she's too aged and infirm to remain there.I can't imagine why anyone would write such vicious nonsense about these good people and their public contributions.Stop by the park when you're in the area and enjoy the eagle, the mountain scenery, and the authentic western community of Ridgway.

As the winter is winding its way down the eagle is always visible with the mts a spectacular backdrop- This time of year keeps the gorgeous San Juan Mt Range topped with snow. The park is always kept in priistine condition clean and extremely pleasant to have an outdoor winter picnic or just to be peaceful by the river that winds its way around and to the east side of the park. The local wildlife is abundant and the peace this park has intended to project out to its visitors is always at the forefront of your experience here I highly recommend a visit here and have your views be jaw dropped open in awe of a place such as this

Wonderful walk with sculptures along a river. Beautiful scenery with easy access from the parking lot.

Only 1 1/2 miles from Ridgeway. Huge eagle statue attached to a large rock, impressive. Lovely how the place was covered with small stacks of rocks done by people that had visited the place. We placed our own. Serene, peaceful place.

Only a mile and a half north of Ridgway this park and eagle statue is a must for anyone close to Ridgway. The statue and poem will take your breath away. Visit on a sunny blue sky day and you may Not want to leave. Statue is very short walk from parking area.

The most incredible experience I've had- maybe ever!!!! With the Russian sage recently surrounding the insane eagle monument was beauty at its best! The first time i entered the park was 5 yrs ago and i shook from head to toe - feeling the peace an serenity like never before- and the then the eagle poem on the huge rock written by Dennis- i dropped to my knees and started weeping- upon seeing this enormous eagle sculpture that spanned what seemed to be infinite space i noticed it was to speck and my pictures inspired many as they thought i had taken a picture of a real eagle with the San Juan mountains behind it- the river's musical patterns and the wildlife- this is a MUST SEE - whenever you are traveling thru the area- find out more and check this out- it is truly a gift worth seeing and receiving from- thanks to the Weaver family for all their hard work in making it truly a gem of the western slope and beyond!!!! :)

Just north of Ridgway is this Memorial Park with a spectacular eagle sculpture. This sculpture is very impressive and is well worth seeing if you're in the area and have the time. Just look for the signs on the highway and it's easily accessible.

We were on our way to Ouray from Black Canyon National Park and decided to make a stop here. The Memorial is so well done and definitely worth the stop, even if only to come look at the Eagle Sculpture that they have here. Get out and stretch your legs and give this a look. You won't be disappointed.

We were with a local so they knew to stop. It would be easy to miss this on your drive up the Million Dollar Highway! We were headed from Ouray. STOP. It will be worth it. Beautiful space. Peaceful. The local I was with has hiked all over the sorrounding mountains and had no idea there were trails here to explore. We found 3..easy access. And easy for someone like me that is afraid of heights and can only do moderate level activity. Will be going back in a couple of weeks!

This park is fantastic. Bring a picnic, go fishing, tubing, or mountain biking on the single track system that leaves from the parking lot.

The memorial park has become one of our favorite places to visit. The stacks of stone 'prayers' is very moving and I always add one or two for loved ones. Wonderfully quiet, filled with birds, the sound of the river, and wildlife like mink along the river. The wildflowers and sage smell wonderful, too. It's a very special place.

You must stop in here and see this just north of Ridgway!! What a great tribute, the sculpture and area is just fantastic, when you are here you are not far from the hwy, but you feet you are 100 miles from anywhere, nice parking and just a very short walk to the memorial.. simply great!!

This wonderful sanctuary gets better every year. Now there are two eagles! Picnic place by river. Lots of hiking/biking trails. A place not to miss.

This is the best place to visit in Ridgway. Very serene. One can enjoy the sounds of the river and the sound in the trees.....Beautiful place to just take time out of your day and meditate. The Eagle is dedicated to a great humanitarian, actor and environmentalist. This is a must see.
