This is a lovely little lake really close to the beach and ocean. At any time of the year, you will find a variety of birds there. You can walk around it or ride a bike around it. The gazebos add a lovely touch to the scene but they are privately owned.

There is a new Historical Marker by Silver Lake near the bird sanctuary. It is very informative. If you like this area and would like more information visit www.sola3.org

Silver Lake is a very pleasant part of Rehoboth Beach. I've walked around it hundreds of times over the last 40 years and it's always beautiful. I've also kayaked on it and ridden a bike around it. It's simply beautiful in every season of the year.

Many other reviewers have captured the beauty of Silver Lake, but sadly seem unaware that if they just keep walking away from the ocean and follow the lake, they will come to a beautiful park, complete with a footbridge over the lake. The "Silver Lake Tot Lot" is really so much more than a tot lot. It's the best place to go and hang out, watch nature, etc.

This lake is in the area between Dewey and Rehoboth. I believe it is Bayard Avenue. You cannot see this from Rt 1 you have to travel between the two towns to see it. This is a good sized lake and there are gazebos and numerous luxury homes across the street from it. It is kind of confusing to know where the private property begins and the public property ends. You could probably manage a picnic blanket lunch there, but at a minimum drive by bike by or walk by. It is so pretty!

Before I came to Rehoboth Beach I saw Silver lake on the map and decided to walk there. It was a mile and a half away. I walked down Bayard ave and as I approached it, I was not disappointed. The lake was gorgeous and there were benches and gazebos around the Lake and I was told, by someone who was passing, that the property was private. So I stood on the public road and just admired it. It is a beautiful walk.

There's a small, very slow road that runs beside Coastal Highway for awhile. Look to the east and you will see a lake that's home to geese and ducks and high-priced "cottages". It's lovely. This is not a spot for anyone who is in fast-paced mode. It's for bicycles, runners, people on a walk with children or dogs or just for the peace of it. Even drivers have to slow down to 25 mph and breathe in the calm. When dusk arrives, you see how the lake got its name. The gently rippled water begins to gleam like liquid silver. Most of the shore is privately owned, so it's not a place you can camp out for the day. But you may linger a bit, take pictures, sneak down to the water's edge and toss in some bread for the lake's inhabitants. It is truly lovely and a nice break from the noise and business of the local, highly popular beaches.

I rented a bike to ride to Silver Lake. There is a public road, but no place to just sit and relax to enjoy the lake. The homes are nice. It was a little hilly and/or I was out of shape. It's can be very humid.

Take a right off the south end of the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach if you want to enjoy a scenic and peaceful spot away from the crowds. You'll also enjoy seeing many types of waterfowl and red earred slider turtles.

This is such a lovely spot to bicycle to. We enjoy the bird life. We like walking and riding on the road by the lake. There is always a beautiful reflection on the water.

The ever-present ducks and some geese are a pleasure to stare at in all seasons. However, in winter, you get a cold chill just watching those cold-blooded animals frolic around in the water. The road around is pleasant and slow to travel - a good thing. Worth a sanity break to pull alongside, whip out a book, and read about godliness.

Silver Lake is probably one of the most beautiful places in Rehoboth. I stumbled upon this place when I first moved here and was exploring on a morning run. I wouldn't mind relocating to this area once my kids are in college.

Nice place to talk a walk in the off season. Parking in the area is by permit during the summer so it can be difficult to find a place to park. Off season there are places to park and go out and walk. It is a beautiful waterview area with very nice homes. There are ducks but frankly I don't like them nor do I like dealing with their feces so avoid them. However, there are parrots in the trees, monk parrots I believe I heard them called, they are said to have escaped from a wrecked pirate ship and inhabit this area. I have been going down to see them since I was a child and I am never disppointed.
