Went here for a tasting, and greatly enjoyed the tasting room. Plenty of seating, friendly and knowledgeable staff, romantic hill country views, sophisticated without being "stuffy" like some wineries. Bought a cheese plate to enjoy with our tasting, and it was totally worth the money! Honestly, didn't love any of the wines enough to but a bottle, but we had such a good time it didn't matter!

The owner stopped at every table to greet the customers. The views were spectacular. The wine tasting was the best of all the vineyards we went to. Even got a private tour in wine making room. will definitely be visiting again.

2 years ago we took a trip through the wine country and found Perissos vineyard. We fell in love with it and became members. We are still members today and still enjoy sitting in their vineyard. It is always nice to take a snack and sit outside to enjoy the view and wine. If the weather does not allow for sitting outside, there is a large tasting room that is very nice.

We have been coming to Perissos Vineyards since it first opened-it has only gotten better and better! Our hill country house is only a few miles from the vineyard- we enjoy the tastings and a good glass of wine in a beautiful setting.

We have been wine club members for a couple of years, and we enjoy supporting a Texas winery. The wine is very good. The winery has a large, lovely tasting room and beautiful scenery. You can enjoy your wine indoors or outside where a number of picnic tables are located. We love to take a picnic and enjoy our wine while the kids play outside. The owners are very nice and often visit with the patrons. The staff is very engaging, too. If you have your children with you, don't hesitate to stop. It's a very family friendly place.

We were staying at Log Country Cove and took the very short drive down the road to this beautiful winery. The wine was great. We sat outside under the trees at the picnic tables and a very friendly and knowledgeable staff person brought the bottles out to us for tasting. The scenery is gorgeous. This is a must visit winery!

We've been long time wine club members here. Not sure how it's possible but the wine seems to get better every year. The entire staff makes you feel so welcome...almost like family. We've always had the best time bringing a picnic lunch with friends and spending a whole afternoon. The wines are by far the best we've found in the Hill Country. And I know I already mentioned the staff, but Steve is just great. Maybe it's the Chicago connection.

Is there such a thing as a Gold-Star winery? Perhaps the Vineyard Trail Winers need to start that rating system! Perissos Vineyards and Winery would surely win the designation (as would a couple of other vineyards here in the Fredericksburg area!) Anyway, we bet you may have guessed that we really enjoyed our visit here!Seth Martin, the owner (along with his wife, of course! :-)), wine maker, and grower does it all and does it all superbly! We were treated to a wine tasting among the vines which was a first. Seth and his event coordinator, Rachel, took us out into the vineyard and showed us the vines from which the particular wine we were tasting at the moment had been grown. He educated us on the soil, the fact that his land is in the Colorado River basin, and how the alkalinity vs. acidity of the soil makes a difference with vine growth and ultimately grape structure. (Gosh, I hope I got that somewhat close to being right!? Did I, Seth?) Anyway, way interesting! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!Perissos has a new tasting room that is just gorgeous. Beautiful light wood and large windows overlooking the vineyards. They use it as the tasting room, but it can also serve as an area for special events such as weddings, graduation parties, or anniversaries. They fashion their tasting room similar to one we visited in New Zealand. Long tables where you can sit and chat with your party, taking your time instead of standing on your feet during the tasting. They come right to the table and serve you. Slows down the pace of life….at least while visiting this winery! Some folks may like this style of wine tasting and others may not….but we have noticed, regardless of our preference one way or the other, several wineries in Texas are taking this approach. Not only are the facilities and the staff here wonderful, so is their wine. Very nice quality and full of flavor! Perissos is a “must visit” on your Texas wine trail. I am confident that you will NOT be disappointed! If you have been to Perissos, leave us a message below and tell us your experience. We would love to hear what others think and see if we are spot on.Visited Dec 2013.

What a beautiful winery! My hubby and I did some wine tasting. For $10 each, we got to taste 7 different wines.. and we actually got to taste 9 because of the great service we got! After we were done tasting, we decided to indulge on a glass of wine and enjoy their cheese and fruit plate. We loved the 2012 Tempranillo (which is Estate Grown), but bought the amazing 2012 Petit Sirah and paired it with a beautiful grilled rib eye at home.I especially love hearing how the wines are cultivated and what kinds of foods they're best paired with. The only thing that would have made this trip any better would've been a tour, if they were available! The vines were beautiful, especially with the harsh drought Texas has been experiencing. We will come back during harvest next year!!

This was my second visit to Perissos, but a first for my husband and our companions. The new tasting room (only a year old) is great. The colors are peaceful and the floor to ceiling windows bring in great lightning. I agree that the wines are a little pricey, but this is a boutique winery which tend to have higher wine prices. If the weather was a little cooler Perissos would be a great place for a picnic lunch with a bottle of wine at the picnic tables or on the patio.

My wife an I stumbled upon Perissos last year when we were taking a short road trip to Austin from Dallas. The vineyard is beautiful and located in a beautiful part of Texas. We participated in the wine tasting that they offered and were very impressed with the various wines we tried. I think that they produce some of the best wines in Texas. I love the fact that all their grapes are from Texas and many of their wines are Estate grown. I will admit that their wines tend to be a little pricey but you do get a discount if you join their wine club. We are part of the club and have been happy with the 2-3 bottles we receive every quarter. My only complaint would be that you can only purchase the wines from the vineyard. They do not have distribution to any local stores.

On our weekend in the Hill Country, we decided to give Perissos Vineyards a try. What a beautiful building in a beautiful setting! Todd offered to bring us our 6 wines to taste outside under the trees right beside rows of various grape varietals. This led to walks up and down the rows with a fascinating lesson in viticulture while enjoying some very good wines. After purchasing a couple of bottles, we peeked next door. Seth, the owner, came over and spent some time telling us about what us obviously his passion. He is trying new techniques in growing his grapes that involve all natural methods, no chemicals. It is very expensive, but Seth believes it will pay-off in the long run and produce better grapes and, therefore, better wine.

Owners, Seth and Laura Martin, have established a bit of a wine lovers paradise on their Texas Hill Country estate. Surrounded by picturesque rows of vineyards, the beautiful hill country setting makes this an ideal place to start one's own family-owned business. Their grape growing and wine making adventure started out of their Austin home many years ago. Like some of you, they experimented with growing their own grape vines and making their own wine. Well, one thing led to another and here they are running a successful vineyard and winery. They first started back in 2005 and have up to 13 acres of Tempranillo, Viognier, Petite Syrah, and Tannat varietals to name a few. Many of their wines come from their estate grown grapes and all wines are 100% Texas grapes. Their first public vintage released about three years ago was wonderful. If you missed their initial releases, don't worry. Their current wine selection is worthy of at least a couple of cases for you to enjoy at home and with friends and family. The 2011 harvest was very small due to the biblical Texas drought of that year, but grapes are expected to yield a very high quality wine. You might want to think about dedicating a wine cellar just for 2011 vintages! Business has been much better than expected since they first opened. Perissos has quickly made a quality name for themselves. We can see a very bright future for them in the Texas wine industry. They have a winery that is very welcoming and makes you feel like family when you are there. Stop by and say, “Hi” and try some of their wines. We think you will agree that they sure know how to make Texas grapes into fine wine!
