Wonderful place to see God's handy work and climb. Great place to hike, explore, and picnic. We are looking forward to our next trip in the Spring.

What a neat little surprise tucked away in Southeast Missouri. It was fun learning a bit of history surrounding the granite mining that took place in this region. Ran into an awesome, excellent, and friendly park ranger who actually thanked us for visiting. A must see if you are in this area!!

Elephant Rocks is filled with huge red granite boulders (bigger than large houses and multi-story apartments). You can climb on, walk through, and generally see also sorts of different sizes, shapes, and conditions. There are a couple old quarry pits on the site that offer some unique insight into how things used to be done. If you have time and are able, I recommend taking the loop trail all the way to it's highest point. You can walk out on this massive dome that is itself covered with many large boulders. The view is amazing and you can get lots of great photo in and around this area.

This park is like none other in the US, water cascades through the giant rocks into small but deep pools of water creating a whirlpool effect. A fun to place to swim and watch people. Also close is cliff diving/jumping into the main water area. Central south Missouri

Great place to spend a day exploring. Climbing on the rocks was was my favorite. Our older parents did fine on the trails and there were plenty of places to rest. The side trails go to Kool stuff too.. In the words of Arnold I'll be back

I used to go to Elephant Rocks when I was a little girl and hadn't been there in about 25 years. The rocks were exactly as I had remembered them, and it was great fun to pass along the experience to my two-year-old daughter. She enjoyed walking through the paved trails and climbing up on some of the smaller rocks, although she was a bit too scared to climb on the taller ones. There's a small playground, picnic tables, and a bathroom at the beginning of the trail (We didn't use the bathroom, so I cannot attest to its cleanliness, but we did notice it there.) I'd absolutely go back. It was worth the long drive from St. Louis.

Definitely worth seeing! Massive granite boulders in a beautiful park, many of which do resemble great elephants.

We had a great drive to Pilot Knob, MO, and saw the sign for this park on our way there. After checking into the motel, we drove back out to visit this park. We read articles about this park in our local newspaper and wanted to check it out.We were impressed with the Braille walking trail. It was easy for us oldsters to navigate and a nice walk. We did climb up to the boulders that the park is named after and this might not be for everyone, but we managed just fine and we aren't in the best shape!Missouri has some wonderful parks in this area and we are so thrilled that we had this chance to visit this one on a beautiful fall day. We would love to bring our out-of-state grandkids in the future.

What a great walk through Elephant Rock State Park. Easy walk, interesting rock formations, and amazing rocks. We took a picnic lunch and had a great time. Even a trail for those that are blind.

This is a must see for anyone living in or visiting Missouri. It is also FREE. It is a great place to take kids for a day of fun and also good for all ages as long as you go prepared with sunscreen and drinks, strollers, wheelchairs or what you think you might need to walk around a path up and down hills. Keep the temperature in mind and come prepared clothes wise and drinks to keep cool. There is entertainment for the kids to climb high big rock or the older in age can stay closer to the path. This is also a great place to bring a cooler and spend the day and have a picnic or BBQ. They have picnic tables and playground areas. There is quite a bit of walking but the trail is easy to walk on and is well shaded. There is also braille signs along the trail for the blind and paths that make it easier for wheelchairs and strollers. We don't live too far away and visit a few times a year. Elephant Rocks is one of the may beautiful wonders of Missouri.

Where else can you see huge boulders out in the middle of nowhere ?? It has an old railroad service building made of brick that has 3 walls and no roof left but it is so pictureque ! If you want to let your inner kid run wild this is the place !! you could spend half a day here. There are picnic tables and it has many spots good for hiking. But I would not let younger children run too far alone. The rocks are 3 and 4 stories high. But it is fun to go in and out of the tunnels and mazes the rocks make then you can climb on them !! FUN !! there are wheelchair ramps all over the trails and there are porta potties just outside the park.
