Lake Leota Park is Evansville's little gem. It is a beautiful park with many large, mature trees creating a shaded understory. Allen creek runs through the park, which also includes Lake Leota. The lake and creek are great places for kids to catch fish and play in the water - as kids need to do. The park comes to life during the 4-day 4th of July festival celebration each year. During this annual event, the park becomes a great venue for music, games and food.

Just an excellent small town park with a lake, spillway, toys for the kids, a pool and plenty of shade and picnic areas for relaxing.

Beautiful old park. The lake has been dredged out and now can be called a lake again. The Canadian geese still like it, but they don't seem to be as thick as years past, Which is good.Nice shaded grassy areas, picnic area, playground. A new aluminum pier if you like to fish. Great recreation area with soccer field, baseball diamond. Just a fun place to visit, walk, and enjoy the outdoors. Great place to take your young ones to let them run. After spending the day outside, the Rock N Rollz sandwich shop or the Nite Owl bar/restaurant are great places to replenish the calories you have burned off.

Softball is fun on summer nights, 4th of July is good but redundant from year to year. The lake has been dredged and emptied, and still looks like a cess pool. Public pool is alright, interesting little bridges over the creek. Could be great if it was managed right.

This city park has a beautiful little lake, outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, playground, soccer field, and ball diamonds. It also has picnic areas, magnificent gorgeous old trees (can you tell what impressed me?!) and a trout stream that flows out of the lake from a small dam. It's a truly pretty gem. Even better: the Fourth of July fireworks make it shine. An excellent local fireworks 'king" knows how to light up the night sky and use the lake to mirror the sparklers. Local folks have fun with the lake with the Recycle Regatta, a Scout project to see who floats longest with their recycle-only contraptions. What would make this park and lake perfect is an on-site outfitter. If you want to fish from the lake or just enjoy a relaxing day on the water, bring your own paddleboat or canoe. There are limited summer concessions; if you decide to enjoy a picnic, there are sandwich shops within 4-5 blocks of the park.
