We really enjoyed visiting the museum. The tour was excellent. The description of how it worked, what it did and what it meant to the area was very good. It was a very tranquil and beautiful place to visit. It is unbelievable that they caught an 8 foot long shark looking thing from the pond (just a joke, you will have to visit to understand!) My kids enjoyed, the gift shop had great things for sale as did the antique shop.

My husband and I came here on June 21...we arrived around 5:30pm or so, and due to the lateness, it was closed for tours. The scenic out-of-the-way Wisconsin back roads are heavy with photo opps and the mill is no exclusion. With camera in hand, I ventured to the bridge and was not disappointed by the breathtaking beauty! We had flip-flopped on returning the next day for a tour, but the price and what we saw from the outside of the closed buildings was not enough to entice us for a return trip. Maybe we missed out on a great Wisconsin history lesson but I was happy enough with the photo opportunities before me.

We went with a group this time and we enjoyed the trip just as much the second time around. Gus didn't disappoint with his stories, knowledge, and personal touches being tied in with the history of the place and loving his job as a tour guide. From his dress to his banjo playing and singing to cap the tour off the experience is rich with learning about fascinating details of history. This time the woodstove in the gift shop was even running, a cozy touch. It's closed for the season now that it's November but be sure and stop in when it opens again (hopefully) in May!

This is an out of the way attraction, but a real treat for history lovers. I had no idea that mills of the 1800's were so complex. The owner-tour guide has a working knowledge of every aspect of the mill, and although it is not running these days, he makes you feel as if it could be up and running in now time. I felt as if I were experiencing a piece of vanishing America, as I fear that once this man is gone, there will be no one to tell the story of the mill quite like him. And his collection of old wagons, sleighs, and anything else that he has ever been interested in was fun. We especially liked the praire schooner.

My family drove past Dell's Museum every almost everyway weekend, as I was growing up. It's still something I like to stop by and look at from time to time.

Like taking a step back in time. Very interesting to learn the history of the mill and area. Guide very knowlegeable. A little pricey, but I'm guessing all the $ goes into maintaining the huge structure.

This is an unassuming location through some windy backroads and in a quiet location, near the town of Augusta. Gus is your guide and has been the guide for many years. He's a fascinating individual who plays the part well and has a passion for its history. The Museum has some interesting glimpses into the past and Gus will share interesting history throughout the tour. You'll get to tour outside and below by the Mill and Gus will turn it on as you peer out the side windows in anticipation. Be sure and wait to take pictures to the Mill is running and go out to the bridge for your picture perfect views. We went during the height of Fall colors and that was a true treat indeed. As the tour wraps up Gus will perhaps share some anecdotes or play some music on the banjo. He's a truly personable and informative guide. I highly recommend stopping through the area and checking this out while it's still around. You have nearby Augusta you can visit and not to far is Weaver's Store, if you like further exploring/road tripping. Or you can stop at the cheese place at the Fall Creek exit on your way there depending on which direction you're coming from.
