This is a great local water park and very reasonably priced. My kids love going here. They also have a small indoor waterpark for rainy days.

Being a resident of Plainfield, there are many advantages we have. Swimming all year round, at a discounted rate, as well as other activities. Aside from the gym, in the month of October, they offer hay rides and Halloween fun such as decorating your own pumpkin, they provide the pumpkins, coloring contest, cookies and hot chocolate...they have many classes that you can participate in such as yoga and class for the elderly. Stop by and pick up a calendar of events or call them and have them mail you one.

Excellent workout area and top notch pools. Water walk in pools are great. Even have supervised child care area.

I live within 5 miles from Splash Island. It is easy to get to and located in a the beautiful Indy suburb of Plainfield. This water park is well-equipped and well-maintained. There are TONS and TONS of huge umbrellas with lounge chairs. We went last week and although it was quite crowded, there were plenty of places for us to put our things in the shade. There are 2 great areas for babies and toddlers that are 1.5 feet or less in water depth and they stay relatively void of older kids. There are 3 extra large water slides for the big kids. The lazy river is quite large and great for all ages. The snack bar has lots of yummy and inexpensive choices. We brought our lunch last week, a cooler loaded with drinks and snacks. There are plenty of shaded picnic tables to eat your lunch at and then you can return to your lounge chairs. I also like that there is a sand box area for kids to take a break from the water. There are showers by the sand box for rinsing before returning to the pool. The staff at Splash Island is A++ in my opinion! They are very professional, courteous and wishing to help customers in any way. The lifeguards are extremely attentive and devoted to safety. There are 2 things I don't like at Splash Island that lead me to leave a 4 star-review. The first is that during our last 2 visits in the last 2 weeks, loads of day-camp children are released into the pools around lunch time. Many of them have 'within' arms reach bracelets on, meaning they are supposed to stay within arms reach of an adult yet they are no where near a supervising adult. The go crazy all over the park and it feels a bit chaotic. The other thing I don't care for is there are far too many fountains going at all times. It makes it very loud and makes it so that you are getting sprayed where ever you are in the pools. This is not ideal for toddlers, in my opinion and just makes for a less relaxing time in general. We will go back again and again!

This review is specific to the outdoor waterpark. Our family has been coming to Splash Island since it's opening. We now live just outside the Plainfield limits, so this is a super easy choice for a quick respite from the day to day. A few years ago, a lazy river was added which makes it *almost* the perfect summer day trip. A wave pool would complete things rather nicely, but has been suggested and from what we understand the reasoning against was insurance related. Understandable, and it gives us an excuse to drive to northern Indiana whenever the opportunity arises to utilize the one at Deep River. On with the review: The smaller pool is now heated, which helps alot when you're middle aged and the kids want to be there when the doors open to prevent having to stand in line and wait out a 'capacity reached' message. Also in the last few years the quality of the food has improved, and the lifeguards have become much more attentive and on top of things. Chairs are at a premium, and the facility doesn't allow outside chairs, so snag one as soon as you get in. The lockers are a short walk away from the main area, on a covered walkway next to the main building, so storing only that which you don't need poolside is essential unless you bring flip flops or other easy on/off shoes to make the trek on hot concrete. As I see it, there are only two problems with the facility. On a recent visit, we had a problem with a group of teens sitting on our chairs, on the towels we had clipped to the chairs. No valuables were taken or anything, but they were vocally less than happy when asked to move so we could retrieve our things. Due to the location of the chairs along a perimeter fence next to the lazy river, there are no staff in the area on the off chance such confrontations become less than safe. Secondly, on the same visit a child vomited into the pool and the lifeguards simply wiped away what had landed on the pool deck. I understand the water is over-chlorinated to prevent infections spreading, but this was a bit more than I was prepared for in terms of casual treatment of bodily fluids. Were it not for those two items, the facility would rate a 5 star review.

To my surprise, the water was warm. There is a small lazy river to walk through. Several water slides and little sprayers. It is laid out safely, so you can keep watch on your children. I also liked that there are life vests for the little ones if you want to use them. The outdoor splash island is open from Memorial Day until around Labor Day, along with the indoor pool. I haven't visited that one since last year, but last summer it was great! But colder water. And sometimes a little too crowded for me, although they limit how many can come in the water area at one time. Both are safely life guarded.

Took three tweens with us plus two adults cost $32. Lots of fun slides and it's safe plus the whole place offers so much. Enjoyed it a lot.

I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. And without exaggerating, I would say there was a lifeguard patroling every 15 feet. They never stand still, and they never take their eyes off the water. It is probably geared more towards younger kids, but there are 3 water slides and a full-size pool, along with the lazy river. For the price, you can't beat it. Extremely clean, extremely safe.

First I would like to note that the TripAdvisor address states this is in Plainfield Illinois but is actually Plainfield Indiana, just west of Indianapolis. I took my son and nephew, both 7 years old, in late June during the week. We arrived just a little after it opened. I knew there was a "spectator pass" option so I did not bring a suit. However when I arrived I found out that since the boys were under 9 there had to be a full-price adult with them. So that was a little frustrating. I was able to find a spot under a nice big umbrella. The water feature area was nice for younger kids. There was a lily pad area which both the boys could do, as well as a nice lazy river. My nephew, who was approaching his 8th birthday, was tall enough to go down the water slides (there are three, all starting and ending at the same places, but different routes). My son was not tall enough yet, but that was ok since the slides were the only thing he missed out on. I was glad I brought a cooler. We sat under the umbrella and ate lunch, like most families. The park was clean and well staffed. Overall it was a very pleasant atmosphere. This is a great park, but it costs more to get in if you aren't a resident of Plainfield. If you are trying to chose between this water park and Carmel's Monon Aquapark, it's a draw. The Monon is cheaper and offers a surf simulator, but can get overwhelmingly busy. Plainfield is slightly more expensive and out-of-the-way, but less crowded and offers a discounted "spectator" pass in some cases. Both parks are clean, well-staffed, allow coolers, and provide tons of fun!

I saw a commercial on the travel channel for Splash Island. I was super excited! I did not know Indiana had a water park (as the commercial lead to believe). I even DVRed the commercial so I could show the kids our post church activities. My son even insisted on wearing his trunks under his sundays best. So we got to there at the posted opening time. There was a big line of what I would guess to have been the staffs family because, they were getting in for free and had all kinds of attitude towards my family and I. When I finally reached the ticket booth I learned that I had to pay extra because I did not live in the area. After we paid more money than I would have ever expected we preceded to the locker room that turned out to be four or five stall bathroom. It was packed and it took over ten minutes to change. Finally out and ready to swim we had to settle on placing our towels and other belongings in the damp grass. We were in the pool no longer than ten minutes and my daughter came to me crying. From what she said she was not allowed to play catch with her cousin and the lifeguard yelled at her and said that they knew she was going to be a problem. I tried to talk to one of the teens in charge but they just blew me off. I don't want to go on and on so I will hold back on the crazy sexual harresment I revived from a number of employees that thought I would not notice through their blank face and dark sunglasses
