lake thom-a-lex park

This is one of the most overlooked places-I hate to admit it, but I have lived here 15yrs and did not know this place existed until a friend of a friend told me about it. My husband and I initially drove there to make sure we could find it. Took about 12 minutes from my home. Beautiful park-right on the lake. Saw people fishing and others feeding ducks down at the lake area. Nice play area for the children. We did plan a cook-out and invited other family members. Rented covered shelter with grilling area-everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a very nice end of summer get together. Will make plans for 2015.

This was our 2nd visit. The 1st was for my niece's birthday party. This time was a family gathering. There are covered shelters, grills, places to fish, a playground for children. It is quiet and peacful.
