I know you might think that it is cold if you are on the East Coast but it is nice and toasty here. I bought a pass to use the facility every day. It has clean pools, bathrooms, and the lifeguards are great. It is a must if you are in the area and there is a random Santa Ana.

On those summer day when you need somewhere to cool and also have fun in doing with with the slides and water fun Wave water park has to offer it will be worth your time.

This park is actually owned and operated by the City of Vista. They do a great job keeping it safe and clean for all the patrons. The slides are geared for younger kids but they also have a really nice Lazy River that is relaxing for all. The setting is nice with plenty of Adirondack chairs, mix of sun and shade, decent food that surprisingly is not overpriced. The place is littered with lifeguards which is helpful if you are watching more than one kid at a time. They have a great Groupon deal in the spring for $38 for four passes. The peak summer hours during the week are 10-4 with occasional extended hours on Friday and weekends until 5:30. Great family fun!

A good day out for the family.Reasonably priced and very clean. The downside would be nothing for young children as all the pools are 3ft 6ins deep so if you have young children not a very good place to visit. Also when we visited there were a lot of youngsters in the water park moving around I without rubber tyres in the flow pools which seemed very dangerous.I don't understand why the lifeguards didn't stop this.

I live in Vista and have taken my grandchildren to this great park many times. It is just the right size not too large and overwhelming. Lots of life guards. Pleasant staff. I had family members visiting from Texas. I took my large group (there was 11 of us) to the park they loved it. Something for everyone.

We were looking for a fun day for my family to celebrate my daughter's birthday party. We had heard of this place, but had never really looked into it. After reviewing their website we decided to book the birthday party. It was such a great deal! The party was yesterday, July 14th. We got there at about 11:50, the park opens at noon. I checked in at the office and they had everything all ready for us. They handed me the tickets and told us what cabana was ours and they told me that a staff member would come by to review our food choices and the timeline of the day. The cabanas are only equipped with one picnic table, you may bring in your own chairs and you are also welcome to pull chairs or loungers over from other areas of the park. Our cabana was #10 and it was right next to a little patch of grass with a few palm trees. If we had a bunch of extra people that would have been great for some extra room. Soon after we had set our stuff down and arranged our chairs one of the staff members came by, and asked us what type of Pizza, chips and drinks we wanted. She also asked what time we wanted the food brought out. We decided to have our food right away so we wouldn't have to drag the kids out of the water to eat later. This turned out to be the best idea. The food came right on time and the pizza was very good. The staff member taking care of us was Vinneay and she could not have been more friendly and attentive. She was so awesome! The waterpark itself is pretty small. It has 4 water slides, three of them you use a tube and one is a body slide. They have a lazy river and there are tubes in the river, you may just grab one. I saw plenty of open tubes all day so getting one is not a problem. There is a big open pool area. There is also a wave machine. The line was pretty long for the wave machine, but it looked lie fun. My daughter, her two cousins and her friend are all 7-8 years old and this park was perfect for them. They are all very strong swimmers so we felt comfortable letting them go off on there own. We could see pool at the bottom of slides from where we sat and we could see them float by on the lazy river. It had just enough attractions to keep them happy all day long. The last thing that I want to metion is the lifegaurds. They were very impressive. I watched them all day long and you could tell that they were very focused and dilligent. I was very happy with our day at the Wave Waterpark. It was a great way to celebrate a summer birthday.

This is a wonderful little waterpark especially for younger kids. My grandkids love The Wave and I have taken them many times. The water slides, lazy river, big pool offer variety and fun without overwhelming the younger kids. Although my granddaughters are now 10 they still love it. I love it too as I can sit somewhere in the middle of the waterpark and still keep a close eye on them. I enjoy the lazy river in an inner tube myself. The Rippley Rainforest play area is great for real young kids. The snack bar provides a variety of lunch options but you can take your own food in too which is nice.

It is a small waterpark but has a lot of fun things to do. I was hanging out with my friends and had a splash. If you aren't a scaredy cat you have to try out the body slide!

Not a big flashy water park, but a very nice city run park. Just enough to cool off on a hot day. We celebrated my sons birthday last summer. They did a nice job with their server and the kids had a blast.

The best part of this park is to duck under that little wall in the lazy river when the lifeguard's not looking and get shot out by the jetting water that moves the lazy river. Besides that, it's full of preteens so it'd be pretty uncomfortable for an adult male to be there so I haven't been since '94. It's got a standing wave that I tried once but, although I'm a surfer, I didn't know how to ride it so it shot me backward instantly and jettisoned water through my sinuses like a noob. No one cared, though.

Its sticky and hot. The kids have nothing to do but complain they are bored and it is hot. Throw everyone in the car with some towels and sunscreen to drive out to the most family oriented friendly water park near San Diego. The Wave Waterpark offers multiple slides, pools, a lazy river and a wave machine. All the activities are centrally located making it easy to keep an eye on your kids while enjoying the shade. Lifeguards are plentiful as they help remind kids to walk not run and guide kids to their favorite activity. Flotation devices and vests are provided. Patio chairs, lounges, benches and cabanas are also available. Food shacks are available serving a wide selection of food and drink in case you stay longer than intended. That will probably happen as we all know once kids start having fun in the water it is hard to get them out of the water. Best part the prices are reasonable! They even have a Spectator Only rate and a Happy Hour rate if you arrive late in the day. Before you jump into the car, do visit the website to check on dates and times. The park is seasonal and is open through August and weekends only in September. The park website is filled with information and photos. It is easy to navigate even for the anti-computer person. Don't delay. Add this activity to your list of summer adventures in time for 2013.

I brought my 13-year-old niece and her friend here this past weekend. It is a small park and not on the scale of Raging Waters or other water parks in southern California. The pros:- Lifeguards everywhere. I was truly impressed by the sheer number of lifeguards and their attentiveness towards the kids in the water- Easy to keep track of kids. Since it's a small park, it's pretty easy to find your kid at one of the attractions.- Relatively cheap. We were able to get discounted tickets and ended up paying $5 per person to get in the park. Look for living social or groupons before buying a ticket. The cons:- Lack of shade. We were able to find a picnic table with umbrella so we were lucky, but there are very few shaded areas in the park.- Free inner tubes are a hot commodity, and hard to find. There are numerous blue inner tubes used in the park, but everyone wants one. You can rent your own yellow tube for the day, or you can try to find a blue tube to use. - The Crazy River. The kids loved the crazy river, which was a rather quick-pace circular river. However, there are kids in there without tubes who are walking against the current and rough-housing. I took two laps around the river on a tube, and got out. I felt like I was constantly running into/over kids who weren't in tubes.- Slippery ground. I saw no less than 3 people slip on the cement and land on their bums or knees. The lifeguards are so focused on watching the kids in the water that they are not reminding them to "walk" when on the concrete. Parents should remind their kids that the concrete is slippery and they need to walk.Tips:- Bring snacks and drinks in a beach bag. They don't allow outside food and drinks in the park, or coolers. However, no one searched bags to check for this. They have a full concession stand, but a slice of pizza is $3.00. If you are taking lots of kids, take some snacks and bottled water. The concession stand has lots of great treats to finish off the day (ice cream, root beer floats, etc.).- Get there early to secure a spot in the shade. There are a few grassy patches where you can set up beach umbrellas for added shade, so this is a plus. You can also bring in your own chairs.- The lockers are small and only fit a backpack. If you are concerned about your valuables, you may want to get a locker. However, be mindful that you will not be able to fit all your stuff (towels, change of clothes, etc) in there due to the size of the locker.- Rent a tube. I got so tired of my niece asking me to "watch her tube" for her while she ran off to do something else. Holding on to the free tubes is not allowed, and the lifeguards will ask you to either use it or put it back in the water. If you rent a yellow tube, it is yours all day and the lifeguards (and other kids) won't bug you incessantly with "Are you using this?"All in all, a relatively cheap day of fun for the kids. They enjoyed it, and I felt that they were safe the entire time.

First, the cost has gone up significantly...$17 pp to get in. There is NO seating available. I got there about 15 minutes after opening and not only were there no chairs, there was also no spots where I could lay out a beach towel (note to self and others, you can bring the smaller beach chairs in). The place was PACKED. And, it closed much earlier than I expected.....10 to 4 they were open. Seems like a pretty short day for what it cost. Additional $8 for a double tube ($10, but you got $2 back in Wave Bucks). Everything is compact, which makes it feel even more packed. Pool was nice, clean, warm. The lazy river is small and packed. Nothing special, just a circular flowing water. The deck is very slippery, with or without shoes. What did I like: staff was awesome, place was clean, for it's size, the changing rooms were roomy, they offered the double tube, and the namesake ride: the eternal Wave.

I just wanted to write this review for parents out there with small children who think this might actually be a good place to visit or a good idea...... I was so excited to take my daughter who is 3 years old to a water park. I spent about $60 for entry fee and 2 tubes and was there less than an hour and a half. I will never return to this park or spend money ever again taking my daughter there. The staff were incredibly rude and unfriendly on top of being so busy and so overcrowded that the staff could barely function to help paying patrons-one lifeguard in particular was extremely rude yelling at me for having swimmies on my 3 year old daughter while kids were actually doing unsafe things in the pools/lazy river. There were not many things a 3 year old could do at the park besides a little playzone that half the slides were wet and half were dry causing a huge burn on my daughters rear end and back legs (do not let them go in with just a bathing suit on--make sure you put shorts on them). It is a complete waste of money. The only other option was a lazy river which might I add the lifeguard was screaming at us--so very unprofessional for such a serious job of saving others in time of need. This woman keeping in mind I purchased a tube and put floaties on my daughter who was very quietly sitting in my lap and I was being screamed at for putting floaties on my child when there are lifejackets--not to mention the fact that there were teen boys actually play fighting in the lazy river in front of us and they werent sanctioned but was yelled at for protecting my 3 year old with swimmies incase she fell off. Thanks for being so considerate of parents who actually watch and protect their children. Of all the people at the park this day and not watching their children I have a much younger child and shes sitting in a tube with me go yell at someone else. Your lucky your manager was on vacation this week but mark my words this will be addressed. Terrible and utterly frusturated. I would never return to this park ever again even when my daughter is older.
