Amazing history to visit. I see something new everytime! I love the chapel, but it is the museum that always moves me.

I have been around the boys town environment my whole life. They have well trained staff and seem to really make a difference in peoples lives. There have been many success stories from adults who grew up in the boys town experience

Although in the suburbs of Omaha, the trip if you're downtown is mostly highway and takes about 25 minutes. I visited Fr. Flannagan's Home, Boys Town Museum and the Catholic Chapel (Where Fr. Flannagan is emtombed). Great history of Boys Town, insight of how Boys Town began and the struggles of Fr. Flannagan. Some very interesting photos and moving tributes of former Boys Town residents, who went on to succeed as productive and happy adults. A moving and worthwhile experience. There is no fee but a donation is welcomed.

Very interesting. We were on a bus tour and we enjoyed the museum and tour around the town. Would recommend this tour.

Really pretty in the fall and spring. Nice place to go for runs or take photos. The churches are both very beautiful and they have a nice garden spot. Also have the post office, health center, school. Very safe though.

Home for boys inspiring the movie with Spencer Tracy and Mickey Rooney by the same name " Boys Town" . History at its best.

We really enjoyed visiting Boys Town and highly recommend the tour to others. The chapel is beautiful and the museum very well organized and interesting. Snowfall kept us from seeing the other historic sites so we will have to return on our next visit to Omaha.

Boys Town is an amazing place to visit. Start your tour by stopping at the Visitors Center - they can give you the details of touring the campus - places not to be missed and what you'll be seeing. The history pours from everywhere ... it's a very safe and welcoming place. Any young people we encountered were polite and friendly - some even stop to introduce themselves and shake your hand. The grounds are well kept and beautiful - always appropriately decorated for the season. Great little cafeteria for breakfast or lunch, too!

Located just south of 140th & West Dodge Rd. Use the exit on either side of the Express Way to get there. The famous "He aint heavy-he's my brother" statue is just inside the entrance on the Dodge St side. Follow the main road up and around and you find the chapel on the campus. Walk inside and find a small piece of history. Fr Flanagan is laid to rest in this chapel. They still hold weddings and services here. Great piece of history.Head further south on campus and find a lake that is a quiet place to picnic and get away from the city. Lots of ducks and fish on the lake. For the 4thof July the town has a private fireworks display. Park on campus or here's a tip: park in the Valmont parking lot on the north side of Dodge and watch the fireworks from that vantage point. Saves time and avoid the crowds.

Took a drive to visit this historic place that was truly brought to the world by a movie. It was founded by a priest with a dream. And that dream still is working. It is a beautiful campus. Fr. Flanagan is laid to rest in the Church that he built. It is a beautiful place dedicated to a man whose dream was to save every boy he could. It is now also open to girls. This is a must see stop when in Omaha.

We were surprised to see the results of our contributions during the years of our visit to Girls and Boys Town. The gift show is filled with many unique one of a kind gifts. The cafeteria offered many choices at a very reasonable price. The many homes where young persons are given direction after a hard start in life is a life saver for many youths. The schools and churches are an important part of their success we are sure. Then the hall where the photos and stories of the many youngsters who went on to save our country are honored. The Honor Roll where some did not return after serving in our armed services. Truely a great place

Boys Town is a drive from center city but it's a must see. Go to visitors center and take guided tour with a student. There is a self guided walking tour and a self guided driving tour, but the student guide will give you a real feel for life at boys town. Spend some time at the museum there for an excellent picture of the sites development and story. Good fun to see the movie with Spencer Tracey before you go. Loved it.

Boys town has had its ups and downs in what it did for children but now they are reaching all time highs. The orientation center is marvelous in that it tells you about boys town history.

Visitors are welcomed here and encourage to take a tour of the campus which has continued and expanded on the mission inititated by Father Flanigan, the founder. You can take a self-guided tour or, for a $5 donation, follow a CD driving tour which we enjoyed. Which ever tour you take don't miss the Hall of History which is intergral to understanding the history and development of Boystown. It is a wonderful story of love and caring.

Loved the facilities. Loved the mission, the history and the stories. I decided to visit because Spencer Tracy actually donated his Oscar to Father Flanigan. The Oscar is on display in the Historical House. It's worth seeing up close and personal. They have done a fabulous job in preserving the facilities. You could actually go back in time and feel what it was like. This is a great place to visit if you want to be reminded of how one person can make a difference in this world. You are allowed to take as many pictures as you want and the people who are there are extremely helpful. I wish I would have had more time. I would have loved to learn more about the success stories of the boys and girls whose lives were changed.
