the girls strawberry u-pick

We were heading to The Boys ( a veggie, fruit store which is so, so much more and couldn't find parking so we parked in the strip mall next to it and saw THE GIRLS. We went in just to have a peak and left more than an hour later. There are many reasons to go there butttt....no matter what, get a bowl of their strawberry shortcake with ice cream and topped with mounds of whipped cream. Yum!! I could go on to talk about several other reasons to visit the store; as well as GRANDMA'S BAKERY a few stores down but suffice it to say that you won't be disappointed and will most certainly come back; as have we.

This is a fun place to visit. The ice cream is yummy, BIG and the most reasonable price I found in all of Delray. Out back there are quite a few birds and some even talk. You can pick fruit when it is ready too. In the shop they have jams and jellies and other tasty goodies to purchase. On one side you can buy pizza by the slice or pie if you care to have lunch before or after your ice cream or shortcake. Enjoy the visit.

One of the most unique country stores I have ever been to, only way to understand is to go in and see for yourself.

We had such a nice time visiting The Girls Strawberry U-Pick. So much to keep the kids engaged. Birds, fish, train rides, goats, donkeys! The kids had a great time. And ordering pizza to be delivered to the garden was a huge bonus. We didn't have to wait around for lunch. We ordered, did our exploring, then ate a delicious lunch. Definitely recommend a visit to this spot. You can make the visit as short or as long as you want. The people couldn't have been any friendlier. A homerun for all!

Who needs an amusement park, when you have The Girls strawberry patch! Fun family outing. Train ride and historic vehicles for the kids, plus rescued exotic birds to visit. Nostalgic "general store" atmosphere, offering many old time favorites. Bonomo's Turkish Taffy or a bottle of Moxie, any one?

GREAT ice cream, fun "country store", animals, birds, pick your own strawberries, Bambini's Pizza next door will deliver to the picnic area in back of the Girls! A totally unique Delray Beach spot either with the kids or without kids!

Great place to enjoy picking your own strawberries. When you are done visit the Boys Market as well. It's a fruit market but a great tourist attraction too. Sample some fruit. Shop small business.

This is a great place for all ages & has something for all to enjoy! You can pick your own strawberries, when they are in season, get fresh fruits and produce, visit all the animals they have outside (donkeys, turtles, birds, swans) and try some of their yummy ice cream or treats inside. They also have neat knick knacks and a bunch of different goodies you can buy (sauces, make your own dessert kits, jams, dressings, marinades, etc.)

Stumbled upon this place, What a treat. I have taken a few friends to this place already and they have all had same reaction, they loved it. When you walk into the front door, you see all the fun, interesting, nostalgia items hanging down from the ceiling, on shelves, tables. Items from our past that are not every day available like back in the day; specific ice creams, sodas, candy bars, novelty candies and toys.Out the back door, there's a giant area of picking your own fruits and vegetables, a little zoo of birds, turtles and a beautiful old fire truck. Can't leave without a cool treat of the past, ice cream, sodas, malts, egg creams. You will love it.

The Girls Strawberry U-pick & Old Fashioned County Store is a diamond in the rough. You wouldn't know Narnia was there behind this regular strip of store. The store itself is fun with all the old fashioned candy and knicknacks, all sorts of things you didn't know you needed. The milkshakes are thick & delicious! Then step outside behind the store and step into a jungle of rescued birds, Wilbur the pig and a place to hold parties and pick strawberries! Really a fun find!

Like an old fashion corner store with lots of home made items. They have an ice cream bar. You can pick strawberry out back in the hydroponic farm.

Came in the middle of the day looking for great refreshment, found this gem in the middle of plaza on military trail and atlantic.Ordered strawberry shake and Jamaica coconut patties. They were delicious. Walked it off to the back yard, saw some birds and knick knacks before heading to work. Nice place lots to see.

Yes there are great strawberries to pick in season and tomatoes, a terrific store filled wit jams, preservers and jellies and all sorts of treats (including a excellent selection of hot sauces), little toys for grandkids and an old fashioned ice cream parlor that make spectacular floats, milk shakes and cones, but the birds seal the deal. You'd never know it from the front (it's in a small shopping center) but out back there are acres of drip irrigated strawberries in stacks of hanging baskets that are easy to pick. Best of all there's a lovely sanctuary for abandoned exotic birds. The birds- Macaws, Cockatoos, swans, parrots of all types of other colorful birds are in large cages all along pathways nestled under tropical fruit trees and palms, it is very very clean. The birds are friendly and talkative and many are taken out of their cages and allowed to sit on swings and few will sit on the friendly staffs shoulders. All the birds have been abandoned or rescued and the place is clearly a product of love and caring. There are also tortoises, lizards, rabbits, donkeys and a cute little teacup pig named Wilber. The place will make you happy!

Do go to the Girls! Walk around and enjoy the beautiful birds. Spend some $$$ and enjoy yourself.I bought a no sugar cherry pie at their bakery and it was just awful. The filling tasted more of glue than cherries. The crust was shameful. Tasted like crumbled cardboard.I'm sure their regular baked goods are a lot better, otherwise they would be out of business.Sorry Girls...it takes a lot to make me write this kind of review.

I'm a bird LOVER, so this place feels like home to me. I pick strawberries and tomatoes when they're in season, but I mostly go for the birds and the jam. They also have wonderful ice cream :-) Don't forget to visit Gramma's Bakery and The Boy's on your way out!!
