If you're ever in this small town make sure you stop by this neat little Museum. It won't take you long at all to go through it but is well worth the stop. It's only five dollars to get in for adults and military get in for free. They have some really neat artifacts from the era when Cobb played and when baseball was America's pastime. On your way out make sure you stop by the gift shop, they've got some nice stuff in there too.....

I received Stanley form my niece in Illinois.. I had never been to the Ty Cobb Museum before, so Stanley and I went on a trek all throughout Georgia. Located across the street from the "old" TY Cobb hospital, it is interesting to see Ty Cobb memorabilia and find out his link with Coca-Cola.

fantastic collection of cobb memorabilia, well presented in this tucked away small town gem of an attraction. royston is a very small town. once the museum has been visited be sure to check out the grave site. cobb may have been the best ballplayer to ever have played the game. once you leave here you are sure to think so too. well worth the adventure when in the area.

My cousin had gotten an advertisement from the Ty Cobb Musuem about a bus trip going to the Braves game. We decided for $50 we could not pass up the chance for a bus trip, dinner and tickets to the game. We got there a little early so we could tour the museum. It has a little gift shop to the right as you enter the hospital. This is also where you buy your tickets for the museum. The museum itself is 6 display cases and a movie talking about Ty Cobb. But if you are a fan of the game it is a great place to visit.

We made a side trip to Ty Cobb's birth place. This is a very well put together museum. The displays are excellent and the film is well done. A baseball fan will find much to read about in this small space. Ty Cobb was a pioneer in professional baseball and the first inductee to the Baseball Hall of Fame. The excellent museum is overshadowed by the wonderful staff. I have to say that lady in the reception area went way beyond the call of duty. She was friendly,, knowledgeable, and very helpful. I would definitely visit this one again.

This is small museum is tucked away in a medical complex, don't miss it though! It's very well done with lots of great memorabilia from an age of baseball long forgotten by many. Ty Cobb was an amazing player who did lots of good post retirement. The museum doesn't sugar-coat him but he's definitely a hometown hero. Everything can be thoroughly seen in less than an hour. Really nice, helpful lady at the reception area. Well worth the trip.

I visited the Ty Cobb Museum and although the museum is small, it was very well organized since the museum highlighted Cobb's life and legacy to baseball and his contributions to Royston. I was amazed to know that he helped to start the first hospital on Royston: Cobb Memorial Hospital which help to save thousands of live in Franklin County and the surrounding counties around Franklin County. I especially enjoyed the short video about Ty Cobb and the staff at the museum was very helpful.

The museum is located in a medical building. Very well organized and maintained. A big smile and warm greeting from Wanda at the front desk set the tone for my visit! It was a pleasant 90 minutes viewing the Cobb displays and short movie. I recommend it to any baseball fan!

I agree with other reviewers in that the museum building (a medical clinic) is a little off-putting, but once you go inside and into the museum it's really sweet. I didn't really know anything about Ty Cobb and learned everything I needed to from the museum. They have great artifacts organized and displayed well. Most importantly, the gift shop has really cute souvenirs.

Pretty cool site on the way to Lake Hartwell. If you like baseball, and it's history, then you will like this place. Pretty cool place.

This little museum is definitely worth the detour off of interstate 85. The building itself is a bit strange (it's a medical office), but don't let that fool you. This museum has lots of great information about Ty Cobb and some wonderful artifacts. While it may not go into tremendous detail about some of the darker aspects of Cobb's personality, it doesn't ignore them completely. The museum has recently made Cobblehead dolls that are reasonably priced ($15). Certainly worth the trip for baseball fans.

Detour to see this place if you are a baseball fan. This museum will take you about 35-40 minutes to see tons or great stuff surrounding the career of Ty Cobb. Ty Cobb was a baseball legend, with remarkable stats and an attitude to go along with these stats apparently. Short movie, uniforms, cleats, balls, baseball cards and lots of historical pictures of Ty Cobb with the likes of Babe Ruth and Joe Dimaggio. His body is buried in Royston also, about 3 minutes from the museum. Anyone who is a baseball fan will absolutely love the museum. Not many players from the majors have such a museum.
