The shape of this castle is particularly interesting, and it has been restored and cleaned in a way that sharpens its austere and imposing presence.

Many people visit the castle having seen it in the Spanish Television series "Isabel" thinking that it is where Isabel the Catholic lived as a child. In fact it was never a residence of any kind, although there are some staterooms inside (not open to the public) where Ministers stay when on government business.The castle itself has been extensively restored. Entry is free, but you only get to enter the courtyard and see the castle from outside and, it is frankly very disappointing. Our initial visit was stretched to 10 minutes by looking at the sculptures in the courtyard and the curious mix of building styles in the walls.If you pay 3 Euros for a guided tour (a lot of them are booked up by organised trips, but 2 tours per day are kept free for the public, although almost always heavily oversubscribed and with waiting lists) you get to enter the castle and climb the tower. This changes the visit from a disappointment to something well worth doing.The tour starts outside the walls and shows you the different building styles and points out the original 12th Century stone, as well as the old part of the castle, part destroyed, part completely gone. You then enter the tower (this is ticket only) and climb the four flights of steps to the top.The steps are steep and quite narrow - people who have limited mobility or problems with claustrophobia or heights should be warned - but you stop on each floor to have a breather and learn of the history of the castle.In the past the castle was used as a granary (!!) and this use only ended about 20 years ago. For this reason the third floor has a small grain museum. There will find display cases with samples of many kinds of wheat, oats, rye, rice, maize and other plants from around the world, all carefully labelled: if you think that wheat is wheat and maize is maize, think again!The last stage of the climb takes in a tightly winding wooden spiral staircase. A lot of people on the visit found it a challenge. It takes you up to the ramparts of the tower. There you climb onto a metal gallery and can see magnificent panoramic views over the town and the surrounding countryside. The visit takes about 45 minutes and is the only way to see the castle properly.A bonus was that there was a small display of vintage cars outside: Bentley's, Jaguars, Aston Martins, Ferraris, Peugot's, etc. Even a Mustang. Take your pick! I chose to have my photo taken by a very elegant Bentley!

Junto con el de La mota es uno de los mejor conservados del patrimonio , unos paneles informativos que te orientan sobre la historia, a la hora que era estaba cerrado no pudimos verlo por fuera pero lo compensamos yendo a comer a La Pinilla un tostón espectacular.

Es un bonito castillo. Está restaurado y alberga un museo del cereal. Es bastante entretenido ya que hay una exposición con cereales, silos, etc.

Restaurado y muy bien conservado aunque fue utilizado para diferentes usos en el tiempo, se puede visitar solo en fechas muy concretas, merece la pena visitar y hacer unas fotos aunque sea de noche al estar iluminado.

Muy bien preparado para ir con niños, gimcana, excelente explicación de su uso moderno y el museo del trigo.

El castillo está muy restaurado, por dentro es más bién un museo sobre los antiguos silos del trigo, con exposiciones de las distintas variedades de los cereales, fabricación de harina, etc.... En mi opinión, con verlo por fuera es más que suficiente. Hay que verlo por lo que representa históricamente.

La visita fue buena, el precio de ésta fue de 3 euros. El castillo tiene mucha historia, especialmente en lo que a la infancia y adolescencia de Isabel I La Católica se refiere. Te lo explican dentro del castillo. También lo han utilizado de Museo del Cereal, que para mi gusto es un poco aburrido. Visita recomendada.

Nos acercamos sin saber que el castillo había sido utilizado como silo durante varios años del siglo XX. Esta bastante restaurado pero han sabido mantener el ambiente del castillo combinándolo con las muestras de trigo y otras partes del museo. Ir con niños puede ser una buena experiencia. Punto a favor por abrir los domingos por la tarde!

Supongo que para un gringo será una maravilla. Pero no le queda la pátina de los años y me sabe a una maqueta recién hecha. Y sin dejar de reconocer que el entorno es muy atractivo y el castillo es de muy buena planta

La verdad es que poco puedo opinar, cuando fuimos estaba cerrado, pero por fuera tiene muy buen aspecto, parece que está bien restaurado.

es un castillo pequeño, aunque su interior no es completamente visitable, si puedes visitar salas de exposiciones y por la noche esta muy bien iluminado.

El castillo está totalmente rehabilitado, suele tener exposiciones y es de acceso gratuito, al menos hasta hace poco..

Por fuera es un castillo con buen aspecto y cuidado, pero que en unas fechas como semana santa el responsable caiga en la dejadez de no avisar con un cartel en la puerta, de que por obras (o por lo que sea, que no lo sé) no se abre para las visitas, no tiene perdon.Con su pan se lo coman.

Este castillo, aunque es pequeñito, está muy bien conservado y es una maravilla ver su exterior, ya que no es visitable.Os recomiendo que lo hagáis por la noche que iluminado es precioso.
