This is a ramshackle collection, which is really it's main charm. For me it was mostly about the cars, which were all in original, used, and unrestored condition. There is a good spread from 1920's through to the 90's. There are one or some cars that were very rare when new (under 1000 made), and others that were common, but have vanished from our roads. A good trip down memory lane.I gave myself a whole day, and they were happy for me to nip out at lunch for a beer. Having said that, you could see it all in an hour or so.The model aircraft collection is first ckass, and exceptional quality. Well worth a day out.

Fascinating! A must for those who have an interest in old vehicles. A fantastic selection of cars, motorcyles, trucks, buses and more. The fact that the buildings were dilapidated almost enhanced the experience, and seemed to add to the sense of antiquity. The corrugated translucent roof meant that our visit was not as long as it would have otherwise been as the indoor temperatures on this very hot August day felt like they were touchig 50 degrees.

A trip around the numerous buildings of the museum will show you a vast array of vehicles of all types. The display is somewhat cramped but put this down to the hundreds of exhibits. Any one interested in old vehicles will find their visit well worth while but don't expect ''a Beaulieu style museum''. An interesting experience.

We called in here with not much time to spare and had a fantastic time. The main reason was to see an old airport crash tender that used to be at Carlisle Airport. They have a fantastic collection and try to keep them well maintained. The museum is a small family run place and both people in on the day of the visit greeted us with a smile and answered everything we needed to know. They have a small gift shop and a little cafe area that serves a good range of snacks. I will visit again when we have more time when passing.

I last visited the Stondon Transport Museum over 10 years ago an enjoyed it very much. I visited once more today with Members of Trinity Methodist Church Men's Group and I'm pleased to say that lots of exhibits have been added plus safer walkways and we even got a free cuppa at the end. The staff were very friendly and only to pleased to help us old fellas. I would definitely recommend anyone to give this museum a try. It isn't flashy but you'll enjoy it.

I've lived about 30 miles away from here for over 20 years and regrettably had not heard of the place until last week. Really quirky little museum in a former garden centre. Loads and loads of classic cars including real gems like an old Victor 101 I remember my Dad having in the 70's. Staff were friendly and very enthusiastic, I got the impression it may have been their own collection. Sadly the replica of HMS Endeavour has had to be dismantled. If only if heard of the place before. £7:50 entrance fee for an adult. Very reasonable I thought and it was worth every penny. Go and visit, I probably will again!

This was very good as I am a petrol head. The range of cars, bikes buses, fire trucks and even missile launchers are great! There is even a devoted Rolls-Royce section, but children are not allowed as there is no barriers to stop them. I really loved the old London bus as you can get on and see. Sadly, the boat is no longer available as it has rotted away and is no longer safe. The airplane section is near the gift shop and has a lot of model airplanes. My only criticism is that the roof is leaking on rainy days but that is forgivable as the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is nice and calm. We saw a family here and saw them again at Duxford airplane museum!! there is a small fee to get in...

We have just been to the museum with visiting family during a wet half term week. We could not believe the range of different vehicles which are displayed, from cycles through to a missile launcher. As this is a private collection and museum, they have no government or lottery money to rely on and this is a little obvious with the dated décor and leaky roof - but please don't let this put you off. Apparently it took the owner 45 years to build up the collection and this we could definitely believe. This is little gem of a museum, you will find yourself keep saying things like - "oh my goodness (or something similar!) can't believe they have got one of those". It also helps in a place when the staff are friendly and the toilets clean.

The first and most striking thing I noticed on walking into this museum is the friendliness and casual attitude. If you're looking for posh pomp and a snooty restaurant ...you're not going to find it here! My Husband & Son are true Motor-heads, they LOVED every minute at this museum. You can touch the cars and peer inside, stand next-to the displays and discuss your memories without being rushed along. There are no open spaces to bore you, every inch of the place has something displayed. Even a huge missile carrier, with the missile on-board. It just goes on and on with something different and delightful around every bend. The ladies in the cafe offer a very friendly and efficient service. Good value for money all round. My only criticism is that there is nowhere for the elderly to have a little rest on the long journey through the display. It's a little like Ikea, no short-cuts back to the cafe. Wonderful none the less!

An amazing collection of old cars housed higgledy piggldey in a series of leaky sheds. Whether you are aged 19 or 90 you will find that first car you ever owned here.

We wanted somewhere that wouldn't take too long to get around( it takes about an hour ) which suited us as we only had an afternoon to spare. After a cuppa in the little cafe we wandered around at all the lovely motors my favourite was the Russian missiles it sitting across from a double decker bus ! This is one man's dream collection who offers it to the public to share with him . A very selfless thing to do. Thanks for sharing your life's work with My family we loved all the variety and even doctor who's eyeball made me smile!

Not only is this the quirky'ist museum around - which I love about it, but also over Easter they have a riddle / treasure hunt on. 'When can I do the hunt again' was the best comment from my daughter yesterday. Well done Stondon Motor Museum a brilliant day out xxx

The museum is packed with hundreds of cars of all ages. I took my dad there and he loved it, it was great to see the smile on his face and to listen to his stories and memories. It also brought back memories of my child hood in the seventies. It's well worth a visit and easy to find, once you've completed your visit you could call into the golf club which is just next door for a relaxing drink.
