Really amazing castle just few kms away from Lidköping. During summer there are some buses going there, or you could just go by car. You need to check at what time the castle is opened so you could check it inside if it is closed, its still worthy to check out the surroundings. The best time to go it is during midsummer.

The Läckö Castle never stops amazing me. And to have coffee at Stallet (The Stable) or eat at Hvita Hjorten is a must.

A medieval castle that has survived catholic and protestant times and still in good shape. Signature white walls and buildings with medieval architecture makes it aspire to a fairytale settings. Well organized tours and access (reasonable admission) to large parts of the castle makes the inside also worth the visit.

We visited Lacko Slott on mid-summer eve. As well as all the traditional music, singing and dancing, there was also a medieval market, and activities for children.

To visit this 17 century castle and partake in the guided tour gives you an idea how Sweden rose to big power in the 1600-ths and the castle is a very nice representation of that time. Excellent garden and fun tidbits. Don't miss the viking ship in the harbour below. Guided tours in english and maybe german. Chech castle

Lovely old castle situated on Sweden's biggest inland lake. English tours are available, but only at certain times. There are a few stairs to get to the different levels. Most of the furniture has been removed and in its place are art exhibitions. There was a sculpture and photographic exhibition on display when I visited. Also when I visited, there were opera performances held at a certain time in the courtyard (I believe this was especially for summer vacation). A well maintained herb garden is there too. If you have your own car, visit Spiken (about 3kms away) a pretty little place where boats are moored on the lake. There you can have a nice lunch and browse a small selection of art and craft shops.

Wonderful place to visit. Tour guides knowledgeable and friendly. Really provides an opportunity to see how the nobility in Sweden lived. Great place to take pictures. Would love to go back.

Lovely setting and amazingly old. Very interesting. Loved the walled garden and location by the lake.

Läckö Slott is well worth the visit for the castle, for the extraordinary gardens, and for the beautiful location. The English-language tour was very well done and took visitors to parts of the castle that are not routinely open to visitors. The grounds, the site with the waters of Lake Vanern on three sides, the little beach are definitely a world away fem urban rich and toil. The gardens, which supply vegetables to the restaurant and to the nearby hotel, are thrilling for anyone interested in horticulture.

Our family of 4, kids age 9 and 10, had a great time visiting this nice castle. The guided tour was brilliant, maybe a little too short. The kids loved the children's programme that they attended and also the history about the owners.

I went to Lackö slott as a day trip from Göteborg on a very rainy day in June 2014.The castle lies next to the largest Lake in Sweden, in fact surrounded on 3 sides by the water. There are a great variety of activities, from paddling to activities for kids and a cafe and restaurant. The castle can be visited and although the fee (100:-) can be seen as high, it is really worth it, as there are lots to see.Make sure not to miss the guided tours, available both in English and Swedish. They will take you to some of the highlights of the castle.

I live in the vicinity of this attraction and must say that it is stunning. Not just the castle but also the surroundings. There is a parking fee and a fee (60-80 skr) to have a guided tour.Läckö Castle (in Swedish: Läckö Slott ) is a medieval castle. Läckö Castle is best known as Magnus de la Gardie's magnificent castle on the shores of Lake Vänern, the largest lake in Sweden.
