Wasn't offering English tours on the Sunday but still had lovely friendly staff that assisted in history explanations, brochures, explanations on fragrance and testing.

This is a simple museum,accessible.It makes her work come to life.Go and have a look for yourself.Located in the central square.

Even though I'm not a big fan of visual arts, and I didn't know the artist before visiting Cologne, Kathe Kollwitz's self portrait "kopf hoch (chin up)", on the museum booklet I got from the visitor center, really caught my eye. I decided to pay a visit, and I wasn't disappointed in the least bit. The museum only has one floor, but quality of the collections are quite good, and one can expect to easily spend 1-2 hours here.Compared to most attractions in Germany, this one is relatively foreigner friendly, with English captions beside all the objects. I feel that this helped me understand and appreciate the works of Kathe Kollwitz and the modern history of Germany a lot better. Definitely worth stopping by if you happen to be in Cologne!

The gallery is at the top floor of the Neumarkt passage, look out for the signs outside the building to get the right one. The museum is well worth the visit for Kathe Kollwitz's beautiful artwork which is displayed. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the museum provided a calm and reflective break from the hassle and bustle of the rest of Cologne's busy attractions. The theme and beauty of Kollwitz's work is a real joy and you won't be disappointed with a visit to this museum.

Dort finden Sie ein kleines Museum, in dem nur die Arbeiten von Käthe Kollwitz gezeigt werden. Sie werden auch eine andere Kollwitz kennen lernen, wie Sie es von bekannten Abreiten kennen. Sie werden von einigen Arbeiten heiter gestimmt werden, von anderen Arbeiten, die das sozialkritische Sujet nicht vermissen lassen, Fragen von Ihren Kindern gestellt bekommen. Beides ist aber ein persönlicher Gewinn für Sie. Also: carpe diem !

Het Kathe Kollwitz museum in Keulen is een echte aanrader. Dit is het meest complete collectie van de drie verzamelplaatsen (Keulen, Berlijn en Koekelare (België) dat aandacht besteed aan het werk en gedachtegoed van de Duitse kunstenares Kathe Kollwitz. De basis van de collectie in Keulen komt voor het grootste deel van de kleinkinderen van Kathe en Karl Kollwitz. Mede hierdoor is de collectie heel bijzonder en uitgebreide tentoonstelling. Naast een grote vaste collectie zijn er regelmatig tijdelijke exposities. In de museumwinkel is het dagboek van Kathe Kollwitz te koop.

Kathe nació en 1867 y murió en 1945 despreciada por los nazis, que la condenaron al ostracismo y a la penuria, e hicieron insorportable su vejez. Con unas dotes para la pintura excepcionales, gozó del favor de los pintores contemporaneos masculinos y fue famosa y apreciada en toda Alemania. Su percepción a la hora de dibujar estaba influenciada por un tipo de trastorno poco común llamado el Micropsia o "Sindrome de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas". Pero no hay que quedarse en las anecdotas. Su pintura puede ligarse al realismo social, siempre muy expresiva, incluso a veces rabiosa, pero, también, a la vez, con esa preocupación tierna y relajada que ofrece esa inevitable misería de lo blanquinegro, comunicándonos un desgarro profundo y doloroso que busca refugio y consuelo en una especie de abrazo espiritual con los seres humanos. El museo posee multitud de dibujos y grabados, y algunas esculturas conmovedoras. No dejará indiferente a nadie. No se lo pierdan.

Das Museum liegt im Herzen Kölns und ist überraschend klein, was aber die Schönheit der Bilder auf keinen Fall mindert. Zur Zeit werden da auch Bilder von Käthe Kollwitz Schwiegertochter ausgestellt: Wunderbare, mit Sonne gefüllten Bilder, was einen starken Kontrast zu den Käthes Bilder zeigt. Absolut sehenswert. Eintritt für Erwachsene kostet 4 Euro, ermäßigt - 2 Euro, die sich lohnen.

Музей чудесный, богатое собрание произведений Колльвиц. Гравюры, скульптуры, рисунки. Посетителей в будние дни нет совсем (я ходила там одна). Есть шкафчики для курток и сумок. Отличная коллекция. Некоторые произведения художницы настолько мощны, что на глаза наворачиваются слезы. Если вы еще не знакомы с творчеством Кете Колльвиц - это отличное место для того, чтобы начать. Вход нашелся не сразу - ищите стеклянный лифт в середине торгового центра. После просмотра экспозиции можно написать отзыв в книге пожеланий и приобрести каталоги\альбомы с работами художницы.

In der dezente Räumlichkeit der Kollwitzmuseum gibt es eine ausgezeichnete Ausstellung der Berliner Impressionismus. Eine breite Palette von Bildern die unterschiedliche Blicke in dieser wichtigen künstlerischen Bewegung schenken.

Merkwaardig dat nog niemand een beoordeling over dit museum gemaakt heeft. Kathe Kollwitz was een geweldige kunstenares. Vooral haar tekeningen en grafisch werk zijn indrukwekkend. Maar ze heeft ook prachtige beelden gemaakt. Het museum ligt was verscholen op de 4de verdieping bij de Neumarkt, maar is meer dan de moeite waard. Haar thema's zijn bijna altijd somber: honger, de verschopten, de dood, kortom: lijden. Niet iets om vrolijk van de worden, maar o, wat indrukwekkend knap. Ze leefde van 1867- 1945. Ze verloor een zoon in 1914 in Vlaanderen. Zeer aanbevolen!!
