Stopped here for a day while on your. Very nice beach. The sand is clean and large, the water is crystal clear and very clean. We were able to go in. While cold, the kids had a great time. The town of Tolo is right there and the amenities are plentiful and easy to get to.The people were super friendly and very helpful to us non-Greek speakers.
Too much litter! But incredible warm water, which is nice and shallow. Pedalos and boats available. A gorgeous bay.
Not well kept, I guess if you visit a beach out of season, you cant have the best, Greeks are known for not taking care of their beaches in winter and in summer they run last minute to make it presentable
Though the water was salty it was pleasantly warm in October. The beach was clean although some of the facilities in the area are a little run down. However, with our hotel near by this was not an issue.
I would recommend the beach for children of all ages. 2 sunbeds and umbrella cost 6 euro, but you could always find place somewhere on the sand. Good beach for europen mainland though it seems to be narrow from the first sight.
The beach is small and you have to find a good spot away from the restaurants I would see. When we were here in October is was very easy to find a good spot with great view and nice warm water. Excellent for relaxing.
Great organized beach with sunbeds. There are also water sports facilities. Water is warm and very clean.
When I was swimming in the balmy water of Tolon beach 24 years ago, I even didn't dream about to come back again. It was just a fantasy, packed in a box together with the other impossible dreams. Now, to be there, was a double pleasure. It was just as beautiful as in my memories, or even so, plus also with some improvements. There is a very roomy parking lot for the free public beach, and from the end of it a boardwalk leads you to the right place to enter the water, or rent an umbrella with two lounge chairs for 5 € .If you walk into the sea from the boardwalk, you don’t have to worry about the sharp rocks, on this way you walk on smooth, soft sand right into the inviting water. As I learned 24 years ago, the best time to go to Greece is September, because the water is already warmed up, and the weather isn't too hot anymore. What is changed is it isn't a topless beach anymore. People are probably getting more modest? Actually I loved the freedom to be topless, even if I don’t miss it anymore.Tolo beach isn't a big one, but probably because of the size and the set-up of it, you can feel more comfortable here, than on some big beaches, where people are like sardines in a can.Hopefully I’ll see it again! There are no photos, since I tried to capture the beauty without memory card in my camera.
"Tolo beach is a small strip of sand, which becomes a bit wider where the hotels and restaurants stop. The water is excellent (blue flag), the beach is narrow and crowded and the background of the beach, with all the hotels and eateries is poor.
Get away to this beautiful bay turquoise water. Snorkel swim and most importantly walk the acropolis of ancient site of assini for the history but also amazing views of the peninsula.
clean water, several tavernas on and near beach. one of the tavernas, Golden beach, belongs to the son of the Panorama hotel, and has good food - they would even deliver it to your apartment.
I have visited Tolo since I was a child! My parents retired and now live here!It is such a magical little town. The beach is clean and lined with chairs for rent (about 8 Euro a day) and the water is super warm and extremely clear!!!You can see the little fish with out any masks. The restaurants are ALL so good and a huge variety of food and sweets! Bakery, ice cream, crepes, coffee shops and bars line the street! You can even visit some small islands from the port there!I love Tolo and definitely recommend to anyone going to southern Greece.
There are several public areas along Tolo beach, in fact I'm not sure the hotels can legally exclude people from swimming in their "patches" but the beach is long enough not to worry about that. We picked a stretch to the south of Hotel Solon where you can hire two lounge chairs and an umbrella for 5 euros. The water was clear and fairly warm although this was 30 September and they say it is colder earlier in the year. You need to take care entering the water as the surface can be uneven but there are places marked by wooden boardwalks where the surface is flatter.
shallow, nice colour water, nice island, have to pay for the beach service, easy to get sunburnt even when the sky is overcast, remember this and apply the spf, which we didn't on 1 occassion and got sunburnt although the day was a cloudy one
Great beach and safe calm waters, great for children and adults alike. Easy access to nearby bars and restaurants for that lunchtime session. Friendly cosmopolitan fellow beach goers. For the more adventurous hire a boat and visit other villages and beaches along the coast, and the islands in the bay.
