mirador del torre

There are two trailheads: one in town which is comparatively busy, the other near Hotel Destino Sur which is less crowded. The trail itself is not too difficult, with the steepest inclines at the beginning. The scenery is gorgeous, featuring diverse landscapes. The viewpoint (mirador) offers a beautiful perspective of El Torre and its glacier, as well as the valley below; you can also see some of Mount Fitzroy from the side.

I just love the views. Cerro Torre is beautiful . We got lots of amazing photos. I can't believe that there are crazy people who climb this mountain. We had a great day of hiking.

We took this hike and it was beautiful. We were lucky that it was a clear day and we could see the peak of Mt Fitz Roy and the glacier. We took our time enjoyed the views. The day was very windy so be careful climbing up to the overlook rocks. This was a nice day hike, and not too difficult.

..even if the sky is grey. The walk is not a hard one and you reach a point with views all around especially if you climb the extra mount on your right. Passing a cascade, seeing glaciers and of course the Torre and Fitz Roy, clouds permitting... We saw 6 condors taking turns to thermal and rest. Just beautiful!

A very beautiful hike that has everything, waterfalls, forests, birds and a stunning view at the end

We did this trekking on our first afternoon (rainy day) in Chalten. It's a one hour easy walk (5km) to get there. The view of Cerro del Torre is amazing.

Whoever doesn't have time to go till the Lagona Torre can go till here and enjoy nice view to the Torre mountain and than go back to town.. like i did

Needed two attempts to experience the view. The first time the visibility was terrible and therefore couldn't see anything. The second time the time had opened up and the view was truly fantastic. Therefore, the recommendation is to do this hike on a clear day, or you'll miss the amazing scenery that you can see from here.

Views from here are great if the weather is clear. In addition to Cerro Torre, you can also see Fitz Roy.

The official view spot is lovely. There are also many others that are not officially titled "mirador".

This is either a perfect lunch spot or a good place for a break if you're going all the way to Lag Torre. *Do not do this hike on a rainy cloudy day -- if you can't see the mtn, you'll want to wait until a clearer day.

It is a very nice walk to the mirador el Fitz Roy and you can visit laguna Capri for a rest before you head back. At least, that is what we did because we are not experienced hikers. If you continue the walk you will reach Laguna de los Tres.But the views were also stunning from here. Start at the end of town where a sign above an arch says "Sendero al Fitz Roy". Take your time and walk, don't run the trail so you can enjoy everything you see. We walked for 6 hours and had a great time!

this viewpoint comes on the laguna torrw trail... the whole trail is scenic and one can turn back after the cascada margarita and mirador torre with a sense of accomplishment

Make sure you do this on a fine day. You want to be able to see the mountain. If the weather is crappy, wait. Plan to stay a few days at minimum in El Chalten (trust me it is gorgeous, and if you like hiking you won't get bored). My breath was taken away when I got to the mirador (means lookout in Spanish). Cerro FitzRoy looked like a mirage! If your legs can handle it, do the full walk to the base of the mountain. And definitely visit the lake on the return trip. The scenery along the whole walk will blow you away.

If you are in El Chalten and cannot take long walk this is a highly recommended sightseeing, also it's not heavy walk.It's true that almost all of the sightseeing in El Chalten are amazing.
