Sucre is such a nice town. It's clean. It has character. Compared to La Paz, Sucre seems to be better off. The people seem happier. Things are a little more expensive but not by much. It's still very cheap. There are a lot of very verge old indigenous ladies begged no for money. Some are in your face and others are sitting on the streets. If you go to mercado central, on the staircase to the second floor you will be encountered by many of them sitting on the stairs begging for money. It's a lot more noticeable in Sucre because you can quickly see that people are better off here.

In contrast to Santa Cruz (which we found to be too hot, humid and unsympathetic), Sucre was a nice surprise! We stayed here twice on our trip to and from Uyuni and the Salar, and long walks around the city showed us nicely tended streets and parks, and nice (if shy) people.Lots of young people in the streets, it gave us that college-town feel, so we were very pleased during our stay. If you plan to rent a car to go to the salt flats (we recommend it!), try BIZ rent a car: we were impressed with the quality of our car, and the knowledge of their staff (plus, it was the best value)!

Sucre has a population of over 300,000 yet still has a small town feel. We are known for our white buildings and pretty vistas! Sure, there are always things that can be improved upon, but all in all this is a great place to visit.

Sucre feels smaller than it is, and is very easy to walk around and explore. There are many nice parks, including one with an Eiffel Tower replica (albeit a slightly smelly one) and another one with fun dinosaur-themed playgrounds for kids. The main plaza is nice and there are cute cafes and restaurants around it.And I LOVED the awesome traffic control system in Sucre - people in zebra costumes helping you cross the streets on the cross walks ("zebra crossings" in Spanish). They were a delight to watch, and all my interactions with them pleasant. Another fun quirk in this fun town!

Was here for three days after three days in the Bolivian salt flats. City has a nice cosmopolitan feel and was a wonderful way to recover from the previous outing (no hot water or electricity).

Really nice place. Nice main square. Some nice restarants and coffee shops. Small enough and easy to get around.

Sucre IS really the "White city", however there are many places and especially around mail plaza there is a VERY STRONG SMELL OF URINE. Additionally it seems that they are too many cars or they have many cars that have bad exhausts systems so there is often HORRIBLE SMELL of gasses coming out of busses and cars – they are actually BLACK IN COLOR. I have been trawling in South America for the last six months and this is the FIRST PLACE where it is NOT possible to walk few feet without somebody pulling on you asking for money. It is unfortunate that it is NOT possible to sit at the main plaza, which is beautifully manicured, and read the book or have a conversation in peace. I don’t want to sound cold and passionless as I am NOT. I came to Sucre to volunteer and help the locals. I also was the one “bothering” people by going around with the “child of the streets” selling magazines, however I just want to report what I feel and what I saw. There HAS TO BE the better way to help and live in Sucre.

The City itself transmits peace to its visitors nice plaza and good local food, great for a walk around the streets. I particularly liked the Plaza where I could stay for hours.

These three months I tried to learn some Spanish, The last two months I did voluntary work at Hogar Mallorca. Sucre is a nice, relaxed, easygoing town. People are friendly. I felt very safe. I'll sure return.

Very European city with nice cafes, museums, parks etc. As a European it is easy to be in and so a very good place to recharge your batteries if you have been travelling for a while.

Sucre was one of my favorite places in Bolivia and I kept wishing I had stayed much longer or revisted once again. This city is overflowing with friendly locals, tons of colonial history, beautiful architecture and an amazing cultural scene. Sucre in general is a pituresque city with strong reminants of colonial architecture and structure. I went absulutely history crazy when I arrived and completely reccomend the Casa de Libertad!!

This is by far the most beautiful, relaxing, chilled out, friendly city of Bolivia. It is almost like stepping into an entirely different country. I love this city and can understand why there's so many expats living there!
