The mine and heritage centre is fabulous ,it's amazing the history you learn and you can actually have a better understanding of the work that was done there . You also learn and have a better understanding of the gruelling two weeks that the miners were trapped and how they were rescued . It makes you appreciate how important family , friends are and how in a crisis situation how a whole community comes together and helps each other in their time of need. Inspirational well done . I would highly recommend this as a place to stop and spend a few hours.

The Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre is well worth a visit. There collection of memorabiliaif fabulous, set out beautifully and of course the Beaconsfield Mine left exactly as it was before the terrible accident underground. The Gift shop had some wonderful products- just a little outside the box. I actually bought a lovely bracelet there.

Well set up and plenty to look at. From gold mining to late 1800's era machinery and life. Section focused on the mining disaster/rescue. We didn't have children, but they were catered for with worksheets to find specific objects and given little treat after. Thoroughly enjoyed the few hours here.

One of the best museums we have visited. Mining and social history all very well done. Do not miss it if you are in the area.

My husband & I couldn't decide if we wanted to go to the Museum or not another mine was my husbands comments. It took hrs to wonder around and look at all information which was displayed. Not just mining information we loved the day by day information of the way the recovery of the miners were rescued also being able to put yourself in the confined space they were trapped in by entering the cage from a large round pipe under it.So many other exhibits to see the old hospital operating table and utensils was great, Apple information in the area and lots of other incredible displays. This is a very reasonable priced museum also has Senior Discount. Now my husband FAVOURITE.

It cost us $30 for the two of us, We got there at 930am opening time which I recommend to people as you can explore and interact freely as towards the end of our tour there were alot of people there and crowded. My wife and I spent 2 1/2 hours there but could of had an extra hour but we had to leave due to a prior booking elsewhere.Great value for money and age doesn't matter. It's a must see fr all.

Don't miss this one - enthralling displays of old and new methods brilliantly constructed with realism, especially the section about the 206 mine rescue. The old mine with the huge watermill right beside the modern museum left an indelible memory of historical machinery and mining methods, including the original miner's hut and the apple industry.Pop in to the nearby bakery for delicious smoko!Valerie & Terry Brown (Queensland) and Tony Collings (Canada)

Took two families to visit this attraction and weren't upset at all. The amount of memorabilia that wasn't mine related was a great addition. The old ruins were extremely impressive considering the age. Despite the ruins being in disrepair, the way the walk was formulated within the ruins was very clever. My only criticism was the fact that the hologram display wasn't working and we weren't informed when we purchased our admission. Perhaps it was a communication breakdown with the volunteers or a fear of disappointing customers before they paid.Still, an intersting and rewarding visit.

My partner absolutely loved the old machinery and displays- perfect for the tradie type. As a non-mechanically minded person I found it interesting, particularly the diplay about the rescue in 2006.

This is a must see attraction. The museum is very interesting with lots of interactive exhibits. Not just a mining museum but an informative experience telling the story of the Tamar Valley.

Well worth a visit, this centre has been established at the site of the famous rescue of two trapped miners. The centre includes relicts from the early years of the mine as well as the remaining artefacts of the mine's more recent operation. The rescue of the miners is dealt with in detail and mine and non-mine items from the period of its operation are on display.

this wonderful museum show the history of the mine in incredible detail. there is so much to see, with may of the exhibits being interactive to keep your interest. the sale of the exhibits and memorabilia will keep you enthralled for hours.there is a large part of the museum dealing with the Beaconsfield mine collapse which made international headlines. this part of the museum is very moving and pays tribute to the bravery of the miners and rescuers buy a joint ticket which allows you into this museum, Seahorse World and the Platypus House for one discounted price

Beaconsfield is the Mine which collapsed and 2 miners were successfully rescued after many days trapped underground. The heritage centre has interesting olden days memorabilia & mining machinery and the story of the mine collapse and rescue is very moving.
