We went to this place once before and I recommended it to friends for a Bday outing for her 9 year olds Bday party . they had recommended wearing helmets and now I see why! I went down first and a Girl was laying in my path I screamed for her to move 3 times Eventually hitting her I took the brunt of her helmet in my Back that was it for me she was fine and my passenger a 4 yr old was ok! Shortly after the same thing happened not once but 4 more times we had an abrasion on a 4 yr olds head, a shot to the back, and my own daughter collide with kids once again laying on the bottom of the hill and now has a black eye,It is not the owners fault they are fine and lovely and their baked goods delicious But the blame lies with the parents not monitoring their children and not showing them where to walk back up and not to lay at the bottom of the hills causing collisons!!! The owners may want to mark a designated walk up area or post sign! about laying on the bottom of the hill get up and MOVE when your done!!! Just be careful and be aware this place can get you seriously hurt!!Thank you!

This place is great to visit any time of the year, but my favourite is making the drive along Lakeridge Road in the fall colours, having butter tarts or warm pie and all the great fall produce you could possibly want. Also love their preserves - year round jams, pickles and their mixed potted planters in the spring.

I only recently discovered Hy-Hope farm while visiting long-lost family this past Canadian Thanksgiving. The views are stunning, the food is delicious, simple and hearty. My only wish is that I had heard about it sooner! I will be back to go tobogganing as soon as the snow flies ;DAnd everyone is correct, those butter tarts are to die for.

On your way north if you happen to travel up Lakeridge Road/Durham Road 23, you must stop at Hy Hope farms. They make the best Butter Tart's. The pastry is crunchy and flakey. I've converted more than a few friends. A must try :)

Hy-Hope Farm is a good place to buy fresh fruit and vegetables and I prefer purchasing here rather than at supermarkets. They also sell delicious baked pies and butter tarts. Sometimes I drop in for a butter tart while out on a long bicycle ride. There is an 18 hole golf course next door, and we just found out about the toboggan hill on the other side of the property. We took some of our relatives from Australia for their first toboggan rides and they had a fantastic time.
