Since I wrote about "visiting a maple syrup farm" on my blog list of winter activities to do while in Muskoka; my family and I decided to give it a try ourselves today. We were pleasantly surprised by what we experienced at Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm; starting with the informative guided tour by Pauline and viewing the wonderful antiques she and her husband, Tom have been collecting for years. The antiques and history behind maple farming she shared with us added great interest to our visit. It also helped that Pauline and Tom are such nice people, passionate and proud about carrying on the tradition of maple producing. We are definitely going back for their Maple Open House this April 4-5 weekend! Thanks Pauline and Tom for a lovely morning! The Kims', Toronto/Lake of Bays

really nice couple gives a free tour through their new built maple farm :) they explain the whole process and even give some maple sirup and butter to try. If you want, you can buy some of the selfmade maple stuff in the store! I really enjoyed it!

Sugar bush hill is a privately operated maple sugar farm which is operated by the most knowledgeable proprietors I have ever met. I grew up beside a sugar bush and have savored good maple sugar all my life. Tom's creation is the very best I have ever tasted. And it is no wonder. Before setting up this ultramodern facility to produce the best traditional maple sugar products possible, Paul studied extensively and visited many other top-of-class maple sugar producers. His passion for his works is infectious. His maple syrups and maple sugar are pure heaven. And he gives a great tour, explaining all the intricacies of creating such a clearly superior product – from sap to crystalized sugar. His farm – which is the only place to purchase his products – is a true delight to visit. Set aside 2 to 3 hours for the visit.

Absolutely loved the passion and knowledge that Tom and Pauline shared with me while I visited their Maple Sugar farm. This is a must see stop if you are traveling to the Muskoka area or need an escape from the city. And of course an added bonus to the great experience and people is the quality of the Maple Syrup. Best I have ever had!! - Jamie (Hamilton, ON)

Tom gave us such a great tour. It was really insightful and his passion for maple syrup is really contagious. Pauline was also an amazing host and she had samples ready for us at the end of the tour. I had no idea that maple syrup could be so different (light/dark). It really made me appreciate it even more. Oh, and the tour was FREE. So there's no reason not to do it.

After a day of skating and snowshoeing at a local provincial park, this was definitely the cherry on top of a sundae! Tom and Pauline's passion for maple syrup is infectious. Tom takes great pride in the craft and process and is eager to offer his knowledge. Boomer, their dog, is happy to welcome all visitors. If you love maple syrup and want to taste the best a sugar house has to offer, definitely make a stop at this hidden gem!!!!

Located in the woods of the lovely Muskoka region, the Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm is one of the best sugar house we’ve ever been to. As natives of the province of Quebec (largest producer of maple syrup), we can vouch for the quality of the products we tasted, from maple syrup to maple sugar. This place was really worth visiting and will be the good excuse for another trip to this breathtaking part of Canada. We will forever keep sweet memories of our experience at Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm and we are looking forward to seeing Tom and Pauline again.

My girlfriend and I stopped in on a frigid Friday morning for a tour. It is abundantly clear that Tom is very passionate about his craft and eager to impart some of that knowledge and historical appreciation on those who visit. After a tour of the production facility we were given samples of every maple treat they make (on site). We had planned to buy some syrup but after those samples we left with maple syrup, maple butter, maple fudge, maple cotton candy (yes it exists), and the hard maple candies they attach to their business cards. Unfortunately only the syrup and butter survived the three hour car ride home (if you want them to last, make sure you lock the treats in the trunk...they're addictive). I feel confident in saying that a trip to the the Huntsville area is in no way complete without a stop at Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm.P.S. We forgot to sign the guest plank before we left, we'd appreciate it if Tom or Pauline could add us: Brittany & Jonathan 2015/02/20.

When we visited Sugarbush Hill Farm, we all came away with a new appreciation of what it takes to take this tradition to the next level. Owners Pauline and Tom are passionate and truly dedicated in producing the finest maple syrup money can buy. From the tapping of the tree to the final yummy maple syrup it's a very interesting experience and should be seen with your own eyes.Anybody would be truly amazed to see how far the craft has come, and it is certainly worth the trip to experience the process first hand. Thank you from the Morrow family.

What a "sweet treat" for the whole family to visit Sugarbush Hill - the process of making maple syrup is fully encompassed here, not to mention the maple syrup itself. Owners, Tom & Pauline are lovely people & truly passionate in the art of producing what I refer to as "liquid gold" Maple Syrup as well as Maple Butter & other products. YUM

We visited Sugarbush on Valentine's day and were given a great tour by Tom, the passionate owner. It was NOT one of those boring museum tours where you frequently phase out or dose off. It was very informative and interesting to learn all about the process of maple syrup making; the passion of the owner got us interested! After sampling, we bought a bottle of light maple syrup and a bag of powder, which I regret now, because we should've bought more!We got into a traffic accident on the day before and the trunk of our car would not close. I borrowed duck tape from Tom and Pauline tried to tape it close and the tape was not sticking. Tom saw that, and came out of the building into -30 degree weather with an elastic string to help me tie it close, without gloves! If I can give a 10-star rating to this attraction I will. From now on if I'm adding sugar to anything it will almost always be maple syrup!
