The golfing was amazing, and had an amazing view. The drinks and food were also amazing. Not to mention the newly renovated building. It was a fabulous visit. We recommend this to all ages. Hope you have fun too.
I'm originally from Mississauga but have lived in the U.S. now for 14 years. I'm an avid golfer and I come back every year for a weekend of golf in early October with the two friends who live in Oakville. Lionhead always makes the list for us! I've read some other unsatisfactory reviews on here and I'm quite surprised as theirs has not been my experience at all, over the many years of playing here. Great Clubhouse and Pro Shop. Excellent selection of merchandise. The service is usually excellent from the time you arrive in the parking lot. The attendants and starters are very attentive. Good beverage cart service while on the course. Yardage book is recommended. Both courses are great but my favorite is The Legends. It's always in great shape, the views are incredible, really nice elevation changes, and it just feels so big! You won't be disappointed.
The course was in great shape but Kaneff is too cheap to install prisms in their flags. Considering the price of the course, I cant believe it.
Living upto its reputation, this course can test all your golfing skills. In addition to hitting accurate shots, the putting greens are undulated and can test soft skills. Definitely will return, this time better prepared.
I always hear about how great Lionhead is. I do not understand how anyone can rave about it. While the course is decent, everything else is way below expectations. The girl working the beverage cart was on FaceTime with her boyfriend. Drinks in the club house were expensive and not made properly. The food was the worst part. For a place that boasts an "outstanding dining experience" they certainly don't deliver. Sandwiches made on Wonderbread are not acceptable at a course that charges from $80 to $120 per player for a round. If you have to play here, eat somewhere else after your game.
Have not played the course and never will! They keep sending Golf Now spam to my email and even though I have "unsubscribed" and called the course to get them to stop they still persist. Lousy management can be the only explanation.
This is a terrible course for the price and service. It costs more than $100/round which is rediculous given the quality and condition of the course. In addition, the staff is simply not friendly and can be extremely rude. In paying over $100 per round, you would think one could use the cart to go to their vehicle or driving range. Unfortunately this is strictly forbidden and against course policy. I highly recommend not wasting your money on this course. There are far better options that cost substantially less and where you are treated with respect. If your familar with courses in the GTA, this one is comparable to Bushwood which only costs about $50-$60.
The course is nice, but the service is very sub par. Better service at a cheap amusement park!Staff were very strict to enforce a rule to force renting golf clubs rather than being flexible and understanding of the situation. Would NOT recommend and would recommend you take your business elsewhere as well. Too many golf courses in the area to put up with bad service for such high prices.
beautiful and challenging golf course but horrible service, in the restaurant and in the banquet room.
Fantastic golf course. Course amazingly maintained. Fairway grass superb, traps well groomed. Great course for both middle of hte road golfers and accomplished golfers. Unbelievable views!
We played the Legends, wich was in excellent shape and featured the beautiful Credit River, wetlands filled with red winged blackbirds and fields of native grasses and wildflowers. The course is very tough with exceptional "high to low" and "low to high" elevated approaches as well as true doglegs that had to be navigated from the tee. I was formerly a low handicapper and were I still on top of my game, this would have tested each skill. Overall, many memorable holes. There is one slightly narrow and "tricked up" par 5 on the back nine, but otherwise its "ample room to drive were there should be" and "tighter short holes as should be." Carts with beverages were readily available and the clubhouse terrace for after round drinks was nice. Range and putting green very worthy. Toronto golf is expensive but this was a darn ice experience.
Just played the Masters course at Lionhead. Wow! Amazing! Everything top notch, from the valet picking you up at your car, to putting your clubs in your cart (included in price). Pro shop staff very friendly and pleasant, and what a nice pro shop! The course was in beautiful condition, super huge greens! Now, I'll warn you, its a VERY TOUGH COURSE!!(apparently Legends is even tougher!) In fact, the black tees are only allowed for pros. Play a few easier courses before you play here. You will enjoy it, I'm a high handicap and still had a great time!! Overall, do not worry if you score high. Enjoy the fantastic scenery, great conditions and amazing service! Can't wait to go back :)
Let me say at the outset that this course could be great. Mature trees, extensive bunkering, and a beautiful river add a lot to the course. What takes away from the course is the sub par maintenance...for a 160 dollar golf course they should not be rocks in the bunkers. I recieved a deep gash in my sand wedge after hitting a large boulder imbedded in a sand trap on the 1st hole. The Director of Golf (john dickie) left much to be desired after a little talk about the course. It amazes me that someone in the customer service industry could be so rude and unhelpful.Lionhead could use significant improvement.
