black stallion hills eco park

My wife, son and I did the zip line and BBQ combo and had a terrific time. Alex made this super easy by exchanging emails to confirm our visit and picking us up in Tamarindo. The zip line guides were very thorough in their safety briefing and the experience was exhilarating! And then came the food! Large servings of an amazing selection of delicious food - it was a total feast! The property is beautiful and you really get a feel for how much Alex cares about Costa Rica, its people, nature, and his guests. Black Stallion is the embodiment of the Pura Vida lifestyle.

My wife and I went on the horseback ride/bbq combo last week at Black Stallion Hills and are already looking forward to returning. The reservation set up was very easy and we were picked up in Tamarindo right on schedule. Arriving at the park we were introduced to our horseback guides, Tomas and Francisco. We went on a fabulous ride through the valley and up to a marvelous summit where we took some pictures to capture the beautiful vistas. once back at camp we met up with Ales again and drank beer and sangria while the staff made an unbelievable bbq dinner. My wife is a vegetarian but that was no problem as we were presented ceviche with bread and the main course which included filet mignon, sausages, chicken, fish, and several salads with vegetables, fruits and side dishes. All were outstanding. to cap off the evening we enjoyed fresh rice pudding with ice cream. Alex and staff made sure everyone was having fun and not one person left without having enough to eat or drink. To cap off the night, Alex made sure my wife and I got back to Playa Grande where we were staying on vacation. I would highly recommend this experience and we are already thinking ahead to our next visit when we will ride the ATVs and possibly zipline before another 5 star bbq meal. Alex runs an impressive operation at the beautiful Black Stallion Hills ranch. Four of us experienced the zip line attraction. It was a fun afternoon with Danny and Jose. The zip line had descent overall length of runs. The views were fantastic. I rated the experience "average" as I've recently done other canopy tours in the area that provided a better overall experience. Still, if you are doing the BBQ and/or horseback riding (which we did not do) along with the zip line, I imagine it is hard to beat Black Stallion Hills. So, don't let this review dissuade you from the operation. It is a lovely place, very friendly, and well worth a visit.
