We tried four different pieces of the chocolate and each one was left us feeling like something was missing. The chocolate was dry and chalky and just missed the mark.

I cannot really tell you about their chocolate seeing as i did not have any. However i had the most wonderful bowl of ice cream! Their vanilla ice cream was so fresh and different! It had a more icee taste to it but it was simply delicious and the greatest refreshment on a humid day.

I discovered Moho Chocolate Factory while in port of Belize from a cruise ship. This location is new since my last visit to Belize and I was quick to visit when I heard the word "chocolate." I paid the $2 extra for the "tour" and was glad I did. The tour is very small and takes place right inside the shop. For sanitary reasons visitors are not allowed in the actual rooms where the chocolate is being made. However, we learned so much about how Moho operates and the people involved in this eco-responsible business. The tour also provides a comprehensive "tasting" of the goods including choco-colada, brownies, and varieties of chocolates. We left with 3 bars of Moho and I'm pleased that there is a location for purchases once I returned stateside.Well worth the visit to support this unique business.

Okay, running down to Belize to stock up on chocolate is not like a trip to the local supermarket, but IF you find yourself in San Pedro, do yourself and our world a big favor and do just that! The product is excellent--and responsible. Local cocoa farmers benefit and no slave labor is involved at any stage of the process. And the chocolate is delicious! You can't beat that combination! Easy to find right on the waterfront in the tourist village--with free wi-fi if you have a drink. I opted for a Diet Coke, but mmmmmm,, the boozy mudslides looked delicious!

All kinds of fresh organic chocolate. The milk chocolate, lime with sea salt was my favorite. But they have face scrubs and hot cocoa too, with all reasonably priced too!

Who knew? I hadn't really considered Belize for chocolate and had no idea what I was missing. Moho Chocolate actually has its main headquarters in Belize City but they have a satellite location in San Pedro on Black Coral Street between the beach and Barrier Reef Drive (Front St.) just across from the Ambergris Divers store. You can buy truffles, single squares of chocolate, bars, or gift items. If you want something different try some Chili Chocolate. It has a nice bite to it. The dark and milk varieties are good as well. They just opened a distributor in New York too!In terms of price, a square of Chili Chocolate cost US$1.
